The Villas at Camelback Crossing

I stayed here during Christmas of 2014 for close to one week with family members that are residents at The Villas at Camelback Crossing. While I appreciated that the property is somewhat new (or even a few years old), I felt that there were pros and cons that were worth noting.
PROS: Very close access to Glendale Road, the University of Phoenix Stadium for Cardinals games, and the Glendale shopping outlet mall. As aforementioned, the property is not rundown, and seems to be fairly new. The property itself is actually beautiful, and I felt safe walking just about anywhere, to include the Quik Trip gas station one block away on the corner. Further, Glendale (to me) is actually a desired burb of Phoenix that I would feel very comfortable living within in comparison to other places such as South Mountain or Mesa. One positive is that you’ll actually see drainage areas (they look like small depressions that are 10 – 15 feet deep) around the middle of the property that help with the rain that simply won’t drain.
CONS: I was a bit surprised at the square footage that was within a 3-​bedroom floor plan. I expected it to be much larger, in comparison to other properties that I’ve seen in Chandler, Peoria, and Goodyear. Even Mesa had larger floor plans in some areas. No worries. The biggest con of all may have to be the parking situation. This may be the first property that I’ve seen where the parking spaces are extremely limited, both for residents and visitors. If you are a new resident and have two cars, I highly recommend that you purchase a minimum of one parking space so that you are more than likely guaranteed a space. For visitors, good luck! Don’t be surprised if you have to park on the far, far end of the apartment community. Or, if nothing at all, possibly the clubhouse. The parking spaces alone are a bit cramped and tight, and if you are close to the front gate, this can get a bit tedious when you are backing out and see others coming in (sometimes impatiently).
Overall, if it was up to me, I would more than likely highly consider living here as a resident. However, I would be very mindful of the parking situation as well as if the particular floor plan that you pick would best accommodate your furniture. If I could, I would give this property 3.5 stars.

Parking here sucks! From day 1 we had issues with our place — the sink leaked, the washroom over flowed, noisy neighbors, broken or dirty amenities– this place has been an absolute challenge. The maintenance team is great and they respond rather quickly, however the front office will only give you «unfortunately…» answers. If your apartment shopping, I would highly avoid this place! Again, parking here is a nightmare!

I had a problem with this complex from the day I moved in! I moved from Florida and drove for four days. When I got my keys to the new apartment me and my partner notice it was unclean especially the carpet. I asked for a copy of the lease when I signed it and they said I had to wait till management signed it which would take a few days. The apartment we got was not the same as the model that we where shown. There was a fire place that took up half the living room n we where suppose to have two walkin closets and two jacuzzi tubs! The staff acted like we didn’t know what we were talking about so we asked to see the model again and they refused to show us. We lived on the third floor we also had a neighbor downstairs who dog would use the bathroom n our walkway and no one would clean it up! Then the complex but notices of fines on my door stating my dog wasn’t on my lease when it was and threatened to fine me until I had to show them it was and I also got a notice for trash on my balcony n threatened a fine when they had the wrong apartment! When I finally got my lease after a month of living there they raised my rent by $ 35 dollars because they forget to add the pet rent. I told them this not the agreed amount I signed on my lease so legally I’m not require to pay the new rent n on my lease you sign the second page n the actually changed the first page to new rent price I didn’t sign for! So I threatened to sue so they too off the $ 35. Also when I moved out they charged me $ 210 for cleaning.trash.carpet cleaning fees! Leaving me with no deposit and still owning $ 110! I was pissed since I wasn’t aware I had to get my own carpet cleaned n the apartment was cleaned! Also the kids are not supervised and scratched the side of my car up badly! This place is overpriced. and a joke! Don’t move here its a waste of time n they harass all the time but aren’t very helpful!
