Visiting Dr. Shanklin at North Brand Dental was by far the best dental visit of my life.
The friendly dental hygienist working there that day (Ellie) was extremely thorough, and yet very gentle in her cleaning. It’s not often that even someone with healthy teeth experiences a dental cleaning without pain. If all hygienists were like Ellie, the «Sleep Dentistry» clinics would go out of business.
Dr. Shanklin himself was also very knowledgeable and friendly, with useful and easy tips. I was happy that he did not try to sell me any unnecessary procedures. He was focused, effective, and efficient.
I’ll definitely be returning to this dental clinic for my future appointments, even if I move out of state.

The staff is very friendly and very patient with children. Dr. Shanklin is a great dentist. He throughly explained things and emphasized to my boys why they need to brush their teeth.

My family has been going to him forever and there is no reason to go to anyone else. He tells you what you need and doesn’t try to sell you something you don’t.

Most awesome Dentist EVER and Love Love Love Olga too! I have been going to Dr Shanklin for years and years — had a brief stint with a different dentist when my «insurance» didn’t include his practice. worst mistake ever. Ran back and preferred to be a cash patient until I found a new job with regular insurance. Have been here ever since. Told him he cannot retire until I loose all my teeth! If I ever left CA I would travel back to have him work on my teeth!

These people are great. Staff, doctor, all! He is SO honest when he inspects your teeth. He is funny and kind. Prices are great. I recently lost my insurance and freaked out… They said they would help me out by a payment plan (which I didn’t end up doing). Will miss him when he eventually retires!

My dad had gone to several dentists telling him he had a lot cavities. He just couldn’t believe it and got different options. He then came here. Dr. Shanklin looked at his teeth and told him he only had two cavities as opposed to the other dentists who told him he had 8 – 11 cavities.
So I went to Dr. Shanklin a couple months after and had such a great experience. I have been coming here ever since. Staff is friendly. Prices are reasonable too. Good, honest work! He is the best dentist!

AWESOME dentist. We have been going to Dr. Shanklin for over 20 years and cannot say enough how great he and his team are. His very professional and always takes really good care of you, doing the necessary work, unlike other dentists. For your teeth cleaning OLGA is the queen, she’s amazing. After you have seen OLGA your teeth feel so smooth and clean, without feeling soared or with sensitive gums. For those of you which don’t have insurance, their prices are very reasonable. I can highly recommend their office, you wont be dissappointed.

My family has been going to Dr. Shanklin for almost 40 years! I «strayed» a couple of times by going to dentists closer to home, but I’ve always been sorry (overcharged for excessive, unnecessary services, etc.) and have returned to Dr. S. He treats patients the way he would like himself and his family to be treated.
