Been taking our dogs to Pooch Pawlor for years and we love them!
Our dog Charlie, a medium/​large yorkie mix (weird, I know) can be VERY energetic/​hyper and sometimes even nippy, but the wonderful groomers at Pooch Pawlor have always returned him looking freshly trimmed and clean. We have called them very last minute for same day appointments (usually on Saturdays) and they have always been accommodating.

Took my dog to this place today. I have taken him to groomers before where when he comes home he shys away from us like he had a bad experience.
Not today, he seems in good spirits!
From how my dog is acting, I think this is a good place to take your dog. I will be bringing our dog back again. The cut looks good too.

My boyfriend and I recently bought a Maltipoo from a family who couldn’t keep her anymore. Her hair was CRAZY SHAGGY and super long as that was how they liked it. However, it was unmanageable and it made it hard to even put a harness on her. So we made an appointment for a Saturday and felt comfortable when we dropped her off. They seemed to be busy, but had multiple people attending to us. Be aware that weekends are busiest; we dropped her off early morning at about 10 – 10:30 and didn’t get her back until maybe 2:30 — 3:00.
When we came to get her, I couldn’t even believe it was the same dog. She looked way smaller since all of her hair was gone. Apparently, her hair had gotten so long that it was matted, so they needed to cut more than we asked for, but that was understandable. They also gave us tips on how to take care of her hair as time went on to keep it from getting tangled and matted again. We also used the Unilocal check-​in discount for a couple dollars off. Overall, the grooming was reasonably priced and very professional! We look forward to coming back.

Please don’t take your dog here I picked my dog up like this and then they tried to blame it on us that we don’t clean hit eyes enough so I went to petco to buy some thing for my dog to help it heal and the manager came out and told me this is a fresh wound and couldn’t happen on its own or my dog couldn’t do this to him self so the petco I am not saying they did it on purpose but it’s definently lack of experience as a Maltese has tear stains and the groomer must of tried removing it on his own with water or shampoo and removed part of his skin I used to be a regular here but now I will find a new place please be aware

I had to take my dog to the vet 2 times after leaving this place about 2 weeks ago. I’m so sad to write this review but I im not go back to this place.
Rainer is the person who cut my dogs hair last time. As soon as I picked my dog up from this place he was panting, shaking and couldn’t breathe. I just thought he was excited. This lingered for about 20mins, So I called the place and spoke to rainer. I asked him what happened to my dog? He cant breathe… it sounds like he has a stuffy nose, almost like their is something in his nose. His reply was… well its not like we put something in his nose on purpose. Ughhh what kinda answer is that? I took him to the vet 2 times in that week to figure out what’s going on. After long nights of not sleeping and stress, he’s finely back to health.

First time visit at the PoochPawlor and had an amazing experience with them. It was our first puppy grooming and we were so nervous and picky about it. But, They did a great job with a fair price. Would come back again!

I guess their online appointment scheduler doesn’t work anymore anyway, but that’s okay. Every time I call, even if last minute, the guys are always able to accommodate me right away. And they open the shop on time (even early) in the morning. We consistently get great service and our dog always gets a great cut! And he’s always done in a couple of hours. Thanks so much, guys!

They consistently do a great job here. I called them yesterday to make an appointment for today & they accommodated me. Jason & the rest of the staff are always professional & take very good care of my rather difficult, grumpy westie. Jason took the time to explain to me the different cuts my particular breed of dog can have & patiently noted exactly what I want. Today, I brought my dog here right after a vet visit so as you can imagine she was already anxious & fidgety. Nonetheless, I got back a cheerful, adorable pooch.

I love this place The staff is so nice! Jason turned on the heater for me cuz I was freezing and Rainer even took pictures of my mini doxie while he was in the back. My doggy came out shaved and happy:) Highly recommend

Updating my review because they are still AMAZING! They always work with me when I have to do some very last minute grooming. They get the job done right, within reasonable time and great results. I always get a teddy bear face for my two morkies clipping of nails and teeth brushed! Overall awesome place great staff, THANK YOU POOCH PAWLOR your the greatest!

My pup was looking rough while we looked for a new groomer to call ours. My pup was nervous and scared, so much so that he had an accident on himself and the floor. This has never happened to him before. Needless to say I was embarrassed and felt bad for the groomers who were totally ok and had no problem cleaning up and making me feel like it was no big deal. We left feeling less anxious for Bentley. He had a bad experience at his last groomers and it wasn’t easy finding a new place. Not only was Bentley groomed quickly but he was very nicely trimmed and very happy. The prices are excellent and the staff is awesome. They have tons of cute clothing, just wish they had more size options. Oh and they have neckties for the boys!

Pains me to have to update this review but it’s been bothering me. On the days of his appointments I would literally drive all the way from Santa Clarita to Glendale FIRST thing Saturday mornings because I loved their service that much. I don’t know what’s been going on but I’ve been super disappointed on the amount of time spent there. In the last 3 visits it has literally taking almost 5 hours!
The last time it took so long I went to the shop to inquire what was going on and they stated they left my baby in a cage to air dry because he didn’t seem to like the blow dryer. So 5 hours later he STILL wasn’t ready?!! Pissed is not even the word.
Won’t be going back.

The absolute best dog groomers ever. I have been going to pooch pawlor for 2 years and they never let me down. They care about your pet and their prices are fair. Even though the cut you request might be different from the standard breeds cut, they will cut it they way you requested. Plus my little doxie always comes home with a cute complimentary bow tie! Love it!

8 months ago when I wrote my original review they were impressive. Since then, they can’t manage to get my Shihtzu done to my specification. I always go through the process of letting them know that I don’t want the dog shaved. I gave them one chance, the following time they did it again. It really pissed me off because what’s the point of the consultation if they are going to ignore you. This place is really inconsistent and because of it, no longer going back. It sucks too because they are close to where I live.

I know it may seem drastic to go from a perfect review to 2 stars but I think it is valid
every time I took my dog to get groomed it started taking a little longer for her to be ready. the last couple times I took her it took close to 3 hours from my scheduled appointment to when my dog was ready to be picked up. when I picked up my dog she always seemed super panty and thirsty.
well today was the proverbial straw that broke my back. it took almost 4 hours for my short haired 20 lb dog to get a back, nails clipped & glands expressed. 4 hours? what can be done to a short haired dog for so long? mind you we were not walk ins. I had an appointment which I was not late too
when we were finally able to pick up the dog she was still a bit damp and panting like crazy. I don’t know if the dogs are just kept caged up until the groomer is available but if that’s the case what the hell is the point of making an appointment?!! when we got home my dog sprinted to her water bowl.
I will no longer use their services. I am afraid of what my dog had to sit thru for 4 hours. my dog is not used to being kenneled and if she is being put in a cage because they over schedule or have a breakdown in their process then shame on them!

Called. Someone answered «pooch pawlor please hold». Was on hold for 4:54 seconds before she picked up again. Fine. No biggie.
Me: Hello. Do you have any availability for today?
PP: What kind of dogs do you have?
Me: I have two dogs. One is a small Maltese for a haircut and the other is a Basset Hound for a regular bath.
PP: okay. What is your phone number ?
Me: 818 – 2 $&-&$((. Oh, by the way… I’ve never been there before. You may not find me in your system.
PP: oh, hmmm. yeah. Sorry. We don’t have time for new customers on such a busy day like Saturday.
Me: *silent*
I guess poochie doesn’t want new customers, eh?

Stay away! They obviously take more animals than they can handle in a given day. I have been to PP quite a few times and although they usually have done a decent job. This last time, 2/​21, was completely unacceptable and unprofessional. I dropped off my dog at 10:30, he did have a scheduled appt., btw. I called at 2:00 to get status and he was not ready. Because I had an appt to get to myself and they close at 4 on Sat. I drove down at 3:30 to get my dog concerned that they had already had him for 5 hours. He was far from ready, in fact still wet, and shaggy and not trimmed as requested. See pics. Now, they tried to get me to leave him but I was already PO’d and really could not spare the time I took Bert home. I got a ‘sorry’ from the receptionist and «Its a Saturday, we are very busy.» When I informed her that I had an appt, she replied, «everyone does».
So they basically will take as many pets as crates they have and will get to your pet as they can. Whether Bert was given water remains to be seen. But, I find it completely unacceptable to crate my pet for over 5 hours with no water and to not complete his service, basic bath and sanitary trim, within 5 hours on any given day.
I did receive a call from the young receptionist who unfortunately bore my wrath, because management was too chicken$hit to call an unsatisfied customer themselves. She informed me that they would void my transaction, which I did appreciate.
I previously overlooked little concerns I had here because of the proximity to my home, but I should have seen them as signs. Julie’s in Eagle Rock has never disappointed and Bert & Mona will never return to PP.

My parents were looking for a new doggie grooming place after the last one left cotton balls wedged deep in our pup’s ear, which ended up causing a pretty bad infection and a few trips to the vet :/​Nope, not going back there again…
With all the glowing reviews, I ended up bringing our Pomeranian here. The exterior is pretty unassuming and I almost missed it, discreetly located next to a dry cleaners. Once inside, the workers that greeted us seemed like genuine pet-​lovers by the way they handled my pup, gently coaxing her inside. They also suggested certain cuts and gave me an estimate of about 2 – 3 hours.
About 2.5 hours later, I got a call saying we were all set. Dropped by, picked up my happy, well-​groomed, fresh and so clean clean pup. I haven’t seen her wagging her tail and so happy after a grooming service before, she’s usually a little shaken up. Thanks Pooch Pawlor for being so awesome! :)
