OK, where do I even begin with this review? If you’re someone like me who has had a lifetime of terror associated with going to the dentist, the prospect of a root canal makes you want to jump off a cliff. I had no choice but to get one given my history of bad teeth thanks to crappy luck in my DNA so in I went, yesterday morning, filled with so much apprehension and anxiety that by the time I was in the chair, I was shaking uncontrollably. I was in a near panic by the time Dr. Dawes came near me with the needle and when he started, I was absolutely shocked that I didn’t feel ANY pain, no even the pinch of the needle at the beginning. How on earth he is able to do that, I don’t know, but this is the guy if you want pain free! The problem is, how to keep your anxiety in check. After I was numb and he began the process (which by the way is NOTHING like what you imagine it to be — it’s more like just dealing with a cavity, some drilling, etc.), it took me a really long time to calm down only because I had gotten myself so worked up about the whole thing in advance of arriving for my appointment. Once I was in the chair and he was going through the process, he was talking with me to see if I was okay and reminding me that everything was okay and talking to me so I could relax. He was absolutely incredible in helping me get through this and none of it had to do with the dentistry, it was all my own anxiety. A while into the process I completely calmed down and found that my biggest challenge was actually just keeping my mouth open for a long time. I go back next week for the second appointment to complete the process and even as I know myself well enough to know I will have all of that anxiety going it, at least I KNOW now what the experience will be that I can expect and feel confident that I can go it a lot more calm. Suffice it to say, I am my own worst enemy in these things and Dr. Dawes made this an incredible experience if it’s possible to have one with dentistry! Thank you SO much! I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend Dr. Dawes! Oh, and lest I forget, the office staff and technicians are absolutely incredible! This is the best office ever!

Great Doctor, did my root canal. 2 one hour appointments. He was on time and I experienced no pain. Even afterwards. The office followed up with me to see how I was doing. The parking was super easy! I would totally recommend Dr. Dawes!

I had a root canal done by him today and the Novocaine shots were truly painless. I had read other reviews that said his Novocaine shots were painless and one review that said he was a «Novocaine genius» … but I didn’t know whether or not to believe those reviews because I’ve never had a painless shot — until today.
I have had several other root canals done by another endodontist, and they were all painful procedures.
If I ever move to another state and find I need another root canal I would seriously consider flying back to Glendale to have him perform the procedure.

I’ve had two root canals done by others and both times I’ve ended back with Dr. Daws. You would think I learned my lesson! No one in SCAL is better than Doug, period! Next time I am not even thinking about letting my personal dentist touch a root canal. Please don’t make the same mistake I did… but if you do, get an appointment asap. Smile.

Dr. Daws and the staff here are always excellent! I was first referred many years ago by my dentist for a root canal that was performed by Dr. Daws with great expertise. I have had two other root canals here and Dr. Daws and his staff have always been helpful, professional and accommodating.
A few years ago I moved from the area and had a root canal botched by another dentist. I flew back to Dr. Daws, who cleaned it up and saved me from more pain, trouble and potential health issues down the road. Both Dr. Daws and his staff are good at follow-​up and are conscientious about doing an excellent job.
I strongly recommend Dr. Daws’s work.

I know that we all hate going to the dentist and when we are referred to a root canal specialist, it seems like a nightmare. :(
My dentist referred me to Dr. Daws few years ago.
I had couple of root canals done by Dr. Daws. One of them was 5 years ago and another one just recently. He is specialized in root canals and has been practicing for over 25 years. He is also known by all the Dentists in Glendale for being one of the best in Los Angeles. People travel from various cities to have their teeth done here. I have met couple of them at my recent visit.
The procedure is quick with obsoletely no pain, just a little discomfort. The staff makes sure to call the next morning to check up on you after your first and final visit.
Everyone of his staff members are wonderful, starting from Irene the front desk to Samanta, Martha, Patti, May and his amazing manager Susan. Every one of them are cheerful and very helpful and if you want to ask them for a tooth brush and a tooth paste so you can brush your teeth before your procedure they will gladly hand them to you. :)
I want to thank you Dr. Daws for being so amazing, professional, quick and so pain free and for not making me wait in the waiting room for more then 3 minutes and specially for having such great group of people working with you.
My fear for root canals have completely vanished, THANK YOU!!!

The bad news — I had to get a root canal. The good news — I found someone who made it as painless and calming as possible. My regular dentist suggested someone in another part of town and when I mentioned it to my wife, she said her best friend raved about Daws. I called up (in pain) and was seen the very next day and before I knew it, I was in the chair, numb and that much closer to having my root canal done. Daws and his staff were informative, friendly and professional. I was expecting it to hurt a lot — and it did not. At all.
A day later they called me to ask how I was doing — who does that ?! I got a card in the mail saying thank you. This is the epitome of customer service. It’s that much more special when it comes from somewhere that gave equally as special service in the first place. Hopefully I don’t need to have another root canal anytime soon but if I did or if anyone I knew had to have one — I would tell them to run, not walk, to this office. Bravo ! boy, I never thought I would say that about a dental experience ! :)

If I ever need another root canal, I would not hesitate to return to Dr. Daws, I was able to get a quick appointment, the staff is friendly, the office is easy to get to, I was in and out in less time than I expected. What else could you ask for!

I came to Dr. Daws as a recommendation for a specialists option. I liked Dr. Daws. He was quick, to the point but still informative, and answered all of my questions.

I will not go anywhere else and I will not recommend anyone else. Dr. Daws is king of root canals! He knows his stuff and is as fast as superman that he doesn’t even give you time to feel pain or worries. I love this office! I have referred many and everyone is happy. including me!

I normally don’t write reviews, but the experience I had with Dr. Daws and his office/​staff was beyond my expectations. As soon as I walked in I was greeted with smiles, and given paperwork to fill out. The office is clean, the staff is sweet and knowledgeable. I waited maybe 5 minutes, and was called into the room for X-​Rays and all the other business that needed to be taken care of. The equipment looked brand new and top of the line. I was in and out in no time with a root canal done!!! I am a bit panicky, so about an hour later I felt pain, so I called the office, and a women by the name of Irene picked up, who was so sweet and explained that the pain will go away, that its normal, and if I needed to come back to the office, it wouldn’t be an issue. Ok… totally nice to make me feel like I can come back at anytime if I felt it necessary. Overall, it was a piece of cake and I will def. refer all my friends and family to Dr. Daws! Thank you for making this so easy and pain-​free for me!!!

I highly recommend Dr. Daws as your one and only endodontist. My first root canal was «PAINLESS», I literally fell asleep in the chair as he worked on my tooth.
And the staff there are all super friendly and professional. Every question I had was answered thoroughly and with a smile. The office has a nice décor and most important it’s very sterile which I really appreciated.
My experience was such a good one that when I learned I needed a second root canal there was no hesitation as to where I would be returning, Dr Daws’ ofcourse!

Just had my first root canal and must say, it wasn’t nearly as bad as I anticipated. Dr. Daws and his staff were pleasant and professional. I was taken promptly and the procedure began on schedule. I hope I never have to have another root canal, but if I do, I won’t hesitate to return to Dr. Daws.

I came here over 8 years ago and the staff and Dr. Were excellent. Now I’m back here but for my husband to get a root canal. Over a 2 hour wait before xrays or being numb! They say it is due to emergencies since he was on vacation. I understand things happen, but if your running that behind be courteous and call the patient so they are not waiting that long. Im in the medical field and i don’t understand how doctors expect you on time and punctual but that can not do the same!

This guy is the real deal. I’ve been burned by bad dental work in the past, and I found Dr Daws to be trustworthy, professional, state-​of-​the-​art, and he is very well respected by other dentists that I’ve met. Don’t even think twice.

The doctor is great and the experience is painless. The only pain is the waste of time that you have to spend waiting for your appointment. Waiting an hour over your scheduled time is unacceptable and therefore the customer service here sucks!

Dr Daws and his staff are very good and are very efficient and professional. The result was no pain and everything went smoothly.

If you are in need of a really good endodontist (aka, root canal time) in the Glendale/​Burbank area, then look no further!
I feel that Dr. Daws is extremely competent and very professional. He does excellent work.
I had a root canal several weeks ago. It was my 1^st time with Dr. Daws. I really felt like I was in good hands. It was an upper molar and required 2 visits. I felt immediate relief after the 1^st visit. The molar had 4 canals (not the usual 3), and later my regular dentist commented on how it was good that Dr. Daws detected that.
I was impressed with the results after my 1^st visit, and I convinced my husband to get in there as well. Again, excellent results.
The office is clean, convenient, and there is parking in the back. You won’t have any space-​age headphones with a movie like I have read about… personally, I have never experienced that, and I don’t care to. I like to be aware of what is going on during the procedure.
Both of my visits were pain-​free. After the Novocaine wore off, I popped a Tylenol just to be safe, and went into work for the rest of the day.
I have great confidence in Dr. Daws, and I highly recommend!
