Caliber Collision

For those who need a quick recommendation, just read my next two line.
1. I can’t say enough good things about this shop and YES, you should take your car here!

For those of you who need more than a couple sentences to consider this place, please continue reading.
Back in 2013, my auto insurance first introduced me to this shop when I got rear-​ended. Unfortunately, a couple of months ago, I had to take my car in again. However, this time without thinking twice, I told my insurance that I am going to take my car to Caliber Collision at this location. And here is why.
I am not an auto expert by any means but I think most body shops can fix minor damages on cars pretty well. It is how they fix it and communicate the progress with their customers that make all the difference to me. Both times I was there, I was lucky enough to have the same person who oversaw the repair of my car. His name is Louis. When he tells you that he will update you on the status of repair on your car, he doesn’t mean he will call you when the job is done 4 days later. He will actually call and give you an update whether it be a delay on ordered parts from manufacturer or to keep you posted with the status.
The second time I had to visit them was also because of my back bumper which got rear-​ended (AGAIN!!) Unfortunately, because of my hectic work schedule, I couldn’t leave the car there as long as they needed. One of the ordered part wasn’t able to make it in before I needed the car, so he called and explained what my options are and was able to give me the car back in time for my work. Of course by doing so some compromise had to be made but I didn’t mind and it actually ended up saving me money in the end. Bottom line — the car was practically new again.
But, a couple of days after I got the car back, I noticed a noise I didn’t recognize coming from the back of my car when I drive. I just figured something didn’t get tightened enough when the back gate was put back together. I called Louis and told him about the sound I was hearing. He said he will check it out. Only I wasn’t able to bring the car back in for a month and half! Finally, I was able to drop the car off today and he eventually found out where there noise was coming from. It wasn’t actually related to the repair but I needed to replace a wear&tear part of the back gate. When I went back to pick up the car today he not only didn’t charge me for any labor fees (I only paid for the actual part) but my dirty LA car was completely washed from top to bottom including the tires and rims!
Go ahead and give them a call if you need your car fixed.

This place is amazing! I took my car in to fix the damages on my vehicle and they exceeded my expectations! I was trying to find something wrong with it but it just looks perfect! There work is also guaranteed.
The bonus is that they washed my car inside and out and I don’t think I’ve seen car this clean since I bought it :) They cleaned it so well that they dug my crusty nasty cup holder as clean as they could get it. Very impressed!

I had an extremely positive experience at Caliber. The Auto Club suggested Caliber, because AAA covers the warranty on the work. My car had been vandalized while parked on my street. The work they did included ordering parts (I waited to take the car in until the parts had arrived, which was a few days after they thought it would happen), replacing the bumper, rear side broken window and antenna, and a wonderful paint job on the damaged areas. The work did took a week, which they had estimated, but I came back to a great looking car that had also been washed and extremely well cleaned on the inside. And the customer service was truly fantastic and very responsive. Very pleased.

I had a positive experience here.
I was informed daily via text messages about the progress of my vehicle repair. My car was done in a short period of time. Everyone was very professional w/​me and I recommend this place. I even returned 2 weeks after and they fixed a small scratch at no charge.

Dropped off my car damaged from an accident. Picked it up with only half the damage fixed. This is an allstate preferred shop which was the insurance company of the person who rear ended me. All I can say is that I am glad I am with State Farm and that I will NOT be returning to this shop ever again.

Adan did a great job fixing the back door of the driver’s side of my car! He was very professional, pleasant and kept me posted on the status of my car. Would definitely recommend!

These guys are awesome! I discovered them a couple of years ago when I had to have the front lower bumper repaired on my Mercedes after, unfortunately, some random debris in the middle of the freeway on the 101 that jacked up my front lower bumper and lower right headlight. I was referred to them by my insurance company, Geico.
I haven’t ever had to have any body work done on my car before, so I was a little nervous and not sure what to expect. Especially with my car being a Mercedes and since I was taking it to a local auto-​body shop instead of the dealership.
Man…they did an AMAZING JOB!!! Seriously, I was blown away at the results. The work was SEAMLESS!!! If I didn’t know first hand that anything had been done, I would have never known the difference. The paint job was perfect in every way and the body work as well as the replacement light and black grid. Again, seamless work! I felt like nothing had ever even happened to my car. Absolutely thrilled and happy with the results.
Needless to say, I was so impressed with their work, that even after all these years, I remembered how great the work was and ended up going back just this week to have my rear bumper repaired. It wasn’t an accident, but my bumper was SERIOUSLY jacked up with a TON of nasty scrapes and scratches all over the entire length of the bumper. A lot of deep scratches too, so no little touch up was gonna do it. It was driving me CRAZY having those darn things back there. Totally lowered the look and feel of my car, in my opinion. It was pretty bad. I asked for Pablo Galvez when I was there because I remembered him from those years ago and he had given me some great quotes on other things I might have wanted to get done. I KNEW they would do an amazing job, so I had complete trust with my car in their hands. But man… WOW and STUNNING once again! Seriously! I wish I had taken before pictures so I could show before and afters. That darn bumper had been bothering me for a while and now that it’s fixed, and looks like NEW, I feel like I have a beautiful new car! :) Very, very happy :)))
Pablo was just as awesome as I remember. He didn’t try to up-​sell me on anything and I always really appreciate that. Plus, he gave me an excellent price and kept his word on the original quote he gave me. Seriously, I just can’t say enough about the integrity of these guys! Not to mention the excellent QUALITY of their work and service.
Even when I move over to Santa Monica, I will be driving back to Glendale to them for any body work I need on any of my cars.

Extremely prompt and communicative. I wasn’t sure what to expect with my repairs and the insurance process, but everyone at caliber made it a breeze. Richard who oversaw my repairs was extremely nice and my car looks good as new!

Ended up here through Geico — outstanding customer service. Everyone who I interacted with was incredibly friendly. They did a great job on the vehicle repair, but more importantly they worked quickly. After an initial estimate of nearly two week for my repairs, I explained to them that I was really in a bind without my car. They told me that they would do their best, and sure enough, three days later they had my car was ready. Can’t thank them enough.

Adan was amazing. He took great care of me in a very stressful situation in a wonderful way. His professionalism, communication, responsiveness, patience, and calm demeanor truly meant a lot during my difficult time. Many thanks.

My Lexus was in their shop for about 3 weeks, while I was driving the Audi rental that was offered to me through Enterprise. Although this place provides good customer service they fall short of it due to their lack of communication with the vehicle owners. They do offer lifetime warranty on parts that are placed on the vehicle, which is a great deal since you never know what might happen. I do understand that they had to order parts for my car since they’re not a dealership and don’t carry most things in stock.
You probably won’t receive a call letting you know of what’s going on with your vehicle. Be prepared to reach out on your own. The most difficult/​annoying part about my experience here was the front desk. Anytime I would call it would become a struggle to speak with the girl at the front desk. She would ask me for my frist and last name, vehicle type, year, etc… imagine having to spell out your first and last name a dozen times (not sure if it’s because they have terrible phones). This was me (Alpha, Niner, Dog, Romeo, Echo, Etc… then Repeat, then repeat again, with my last name every time. Then i’ll be informed that the adjuster will be calling me back.
I’m not saying that I hated the experience, it just got a bit tiresome having to follow up with the repair shop. I sometimes never got a call back even when I was told I would.
The important part is that I did get my vehicle back, and it was repaired.

I would rate this business 5 stars if not for a small hiccup in the completion process of my car’s repairs (I had to return again a few days after coming in for pick-​up, and one part had not been completed). Jovan was great the whole way, and offered an appropriate discount to offset the time and trouble.
The quality of the work (paint, body, glass) is high.
The setup with having Enterprise right there for a rental car, provided through my Geico policy, made the whole thing otherwise very smooth and hassle-​free.
Recommended.

I cannot sing enough high praise for this auto-​body shop! Not only did they completely restore my damaged vehicle to it’s former glory, but they even threw in a little extra love while they were at it. I hope I never get into an acccident again, but if I do, you can be damn sure this is the only place I’ll trust to get it repaired.

I got into my very first accident and I hope it’s my last. Caliber did a great job at reassuring me that they were going to take care of my car and make it look brand new as the first day I bought it. They did just that. I have no complaints. The individual who helped me out through it all was Jovon Henderson. He is very personable and knows what he is doing. Thank you Jovon and Caliber Collision.

I was referred to Caliber Collision by my insurance company for repairs after an accident. They made the whole process stress free, repairs were done in a fast and efficient manner, and all their employees were super friendly and attentive. Jovon helped me out in a huge way, kept me informed on the status of my car, and I want to give him special thanks for his VIP service! Caliber Collision and Jovon went above and beyond with their customer service making me feel like a wasn’t just a customer. Thank you guys for an awesome experience!

We chose this shop because USAA works with them.
Someone smashed in the front of our new Nissan Leaf, and kindly took off, so we were on the hook for the repairs.
Caliber kept the car to the very last minute that they had estimated it would take. That would be fine, except for the fact that when we got it home at end of business on a Friday, we discovered that they’d reinstalled the charge port incorrectly, and we couldn’t charge the car (it’s fully electric, so that’s kind of important).
We then spent the entire first half of the following day waiting at the shop for them to take our car, which they then kept for another three days, on top of the nearly two weeks they had the car for the initial repairs.
Adding one final insult, they wouldn’t cover the gas for the rental car we had to get while they were fixing their mistake. While it wasn’t a huge amount, it would have been a nice good faith gesture, as we don’t actually pay for gas with the the Leaf.
The customer service was polite, which fooled us (recent NYC transplants) into being more complacent about giving them the pushback they deserved for their terrible service.
Short version: just don’t go here.

By far the best and fastest service ever! Been to a few shops in the past after being in a fender bender and I’d have to say the guys over at Caliber Collision on San Fernando Rd are the best. The rear end of my car looks brand spanking new. Top notch job! Highly recommend this place.
But the thanks goes to Jovon Henderson. Friendly attitude and polite. Helped within 5 minutes of arriving. Told me my car would be done by Thursday and sure enough, around 2 he called and said car would be ready by 5. I said couldn’t get till tomorrow, he said no problem «we’re open at 7:30». After about 5 minutes get another call from Jovon, «Walter car will be ready as early as 4». Deal. Totally happy with his service.

They did a great job fixing my car and the life time warranty on the part they fixed is pretty great. There’s a car rental place inside the office which is pretty convenient. I’m not a fan of the wait time though. They are always incredibly busy and even if you have an appointment expect to wait 20 minutes to actually get service.

I took my car in last Tuesday to get it fixed since Geico works with this body shop. When I dropped off my car, everyone was real nice and I thought to myself that this should be a painless process (how wrong was I). One day later I get a call from Pablo Galvez stating that my car was ready. Not only was my car ready but I had a balance due of about $ 470 since I had a $ 500 deductible.
Not once, did the body shop get in contact with me or send me something in writing that stated what the damages were, what they were going to fix and how much it was going to cost. If they called and told me that «Hey, Mr. Grigorian, this is going to cost you $ 470 out of pocket since you have a $ 500 deductible», I wouldn’t have fixed it there. I would have taken it somewhere else and gotten it fixed for much less or not fixed it at all. But I wanted that option.
So after not communicating anything to me and fixing my car without my authorization, I told Pablo that I was not going to pay a cent. So I called my claim rep at Geico to see what was going on. This is where the plot thickens. After spending 2 days on the phone while on vacation with Geico and speaking with several reps (Pauline Richards (claims rep), Robert Aldridge (claims supervisor), Jared Woods (in charge when Eric is out) and Eric Calderon (Robert’s supervisor)), it turns out that Geico didn’t even send a person to inspect my vehicle. But that’s a separate issue that I will resolve later. (I will be cancelling my insurance with Geico and going with another carrier, 15 minutes didn’t save 15% or more on my car insurance this time).
A day goes by and I get a call from Joron Henderson (whose position is below Pablo) stating that they spoke with Geico and they can drop the price down to $ 300. This made me even more upset. I told Joron that I wasn’t going to pay a cent just like how I told Pablo. Another day goes by and I get a call from a Robert at Geico stating that Caliber Collision is willing to drop the price down to $ 150 which is their standard cost to do an inspection. Again, I reiterated that I will not be paying a cent since the body shop fixed my car without my authorization. Finally, I get a call today from Robert at Geico that Caliber Collision are willing to waive all the fees… so I went and picked up my car today after a week back and forth.
From this experience, I would never take my car to Caliber Collision again or recommend anyone here for repairs. They handled my claim very poorly and didn’t want to own up to their mistake. They never communicated anything to me and just decided to fix my car on their own and wanted me to pay for it. Although the individuals that work here were very nice, their handling of my claim was very unprofessional.

I really wanted to give this place 5 stars but I can’t. The work was done in a timely manner. The people were very nice and easy to work with. But they used the damaged original plastic pins to keep the undercarriage attached to my wheelwell. When I asked why they were loose they didn’t seem to have an answer. Always check a mechanic’s work! I had him replace them right in front of me. The work wasn’t cheap either so I definitely think they should have sprung for some new plastic pins.

These guys did a bang up job (so to speak). I had damage to my hood thanks to a service truck that didn’t look where he was going. I took my car in for an estimate and Jovan took great care of me and my car. They said it would take 5 days, but it only took 4 and the total price came in under their estimate (didn’t expect that). Not only was my hood fixed like new, but they cleaned up some other little dings around the car (or as I like to call them «city living tax»). I’m not hoping to need them again, but if I do, I’m definitely coming back.

Do yourself a favor and avoid this location. They fixed my vehicle but it took two times bringing it in for them to get it right. Nice people and the finished product was fine but I had a terrible experience.

My car got side swiped and I took it to these guys to get fixed. They replaced the mirror, but forgot some really obvious damages to the fender, mudguard thing after having it for almost a week. I was shocked. So they removed the piece and promised it to deliver it to my work or home, which was nice, I guess, but shouldn’t they have just done the job they got paid to do in the first place? Then they tried to lie and blame it on the Geico adjuster saying he «missed a spot» but it’s clearly in their work order paperwork that I had a copy of. Take your business elsewhere!

Been here before when it was named Modern Auto Body. I like it that they have soda, tea and candy available. Receptionist is friendly and knowledgeable.

Good customer service does still exist! At the recommendation of my insurance company I took my car to this location. I’m so glad I did. From the moment I spoke with my Service Adviser, Derrick Hostetter, I knew this was going to be a great experience. He was very professional, as was the front office staff. My car was checked in quickly and I was on my way without much delay.
Within 24 hours of dropping off my car I received an estimate, which was quite reasonable. From that day onward I received daily updates about my car repairs and was assured I would get my far back in less than 5 days. At first I thought this was a stretch considering some parts had to be ordered, but I was worried for no good reason. Derrick returned my car back to me in the time promised and it looked 10 times better than it did when I dropped it off. The damage was repaired professionally and miscellaneous cosmetic dings were repaired as well. He also had his team re-​affix the guard under my car, which was not a part of the original repair request.
I recommend this body shop for any of your auto body repair needs.

Jovan was very helpful in the beginning, but didn’t communicate much after the estimated ten days of service passed. My car stayed for a total of 24 days, 11 days past the due date. I am hate complaining, it makes me irritated. In this situation, I must complain. The place felt like a used car lot, full of untrustworthy salesmen.
When I picked up my car, I noticed the paint wasn’t a match. Also, there were stickers on the rear window that were not mine. This place doesn’t appear detail oriented. I guess my experience is an outlier.
I wouldn’t recommend this place. I’d go to Seidners instead.
