Bell Tire and Auto Service

Stop me if you’ve heard this before… a girl walks into a mechanic, and gets the 20% «she has boobs and doesn’t know better» *discount*.
Not having prices listed anywhere in sight should have been my first red flag. I was quoted 29.95 for a standard oil change. Not long after showing my 20% off Unilocal check-​in coupon, they came back and said my 2014 Chevy Spark requires a «special» oil filter that they don’t stock. Manager showed me a screen grab with a list price of $ 9 that they jacked up to 12.95 — my consumer cost. Every local dealership has this at an MSRP (e.g. profit already built in, e.g. not wholesale, e.g. customer price of $ 8.60). And we all know how bad dealerships price gouge.
They didn’t even fill the empty windshield washer fluid reservoir, I’ve never had a shop neglect that simple little detail.
So my 29.95 oil change actually cost me 35.65 — little, if any, «savings».

I drive across town just to have my vehicle serviced by these guys. Typically, its just for the basic oil change and tire rotation. They have been very friendly and respectful each time I’ve been there. They will bring other problems to your attention if need be, and will happily show you the issue as well as give their advice on the issue. I never feel taken advantage of when I leave my vehicle here. The only problem I’ve ever had here, was that the oil dipstick was not completely pushed back in after they had completed an oil change.

I had been going to Bell Tire and Auto for a few years and brought many cars in for service. I was on a first name basis with Jimmy and Robert in there. They made me feel like a valued customer and I felt as if they were honest with their customers. Their prices are competitive just like anywhere else. At one point they had started some card system that you could sign up and get points and after so many points, you get a coupon for an oil change.
I had enough points for an oil change but could not find the coupon anywhere. I went and scheduled an oil change and explained to them my situation. They said they couldn’t help me. It was some outside company that does all that. I was under the impression it was their own marketing and they controlled it. They could’ve has easily looked in the computer and saw all the purchases I have made and that would have amounted to that coupon and also saw that I had not redeemed any such item.
I was disappointed to say the least. I had such high expectation of Bell Tire and had been coming there for so many years. An oil change doesn’t seem like a big deal to lose an auto shop over it, but I no longer felt like a valued customer. I’ve moved farther away now, but I would not have a problem driving the extra miles where you feel valued.

Reasonable price. Nice people. I will be back.

Another great experience! Jimmy called me to let me know that if I could get my car in by the end of the month, there was a rebate available on the struts I needed to get replaced. I love saving money, and their awesome customer service!

Quick service, but overpriced. When I needed a repair on my truck, I always give businesses the benefit of the doubt initially. Since then, I have double checked pricing of several other repair shops within minutes of this place in hope to be reassured of what I paid for service to see if I would use them for all my service needs. I was disheartened to find out I overpaid for my repair.

These guys are truly the best! They are always honest, more than accommodating and go above & beyond to make life easier when car troubles are typically frustrating and inconvenient.

I am in love with Bell Tire and Auto. I understand this is an odd place to be in love with (as it is an auto repair shop) but it is wonderful! Many years ago (over 8 years) I needed to get my car fixed and a friend at work suggested them to me. Both of my parents also use their services and we have never disappointed. The service is wonderful, the customer service is great, and the prices are pretty darn good. They only fix what they can and are completely honest if they can’t fix it (a plus in my book). In addition, they do things in a timely manner, and almost always remember me even if it has been a long time since I have been in (I try to go in for my oil changes too, but sometimes I get lazy and go elsewhere now that I have moved). I guess that is the best thing I can say about them, I still drive to them even though there are probably hundreds of auto repair shops closer to my house.
