History

Established in 1977.

R Godfrey Homes has been building homes in the North Central Texas area since 1977. Our company president, Ronnie Godfrey is a Certified Graduate Builder. He deeply cares about the quality of the homes we build. And he is out at the job site daily to insure that each home is built right.

Two years in a row, we won the Energy Value Housing Award. This is a nation-​wide builder’s competition honoring home builders who voluntarily incorporate energy efficiency in design, construction, and marketing of new homes.

In addition to building new homes, we have developed 15 communities. Our latest community is Bluebird Park located in Glen Rose, Texas. The cottage-​style homes are smaller with an open floor plan and extremely easy to maintain. The community is neighborhood friendly with sidewalks, large pecan trees, and an orchard area.

Ronnie G.

Business Owner

Ronnie is the CEO and president of R Godfrey Homes. He was raised in Fort Worth and as an adult moved to the Crowley, Texas area. He started building homes in about 1977. As he progressed as a builder, he became very interested and concerned about environmental issues. This was one of the driving factors in becoming an Energy Star builder. Ronnie attends seminars and other functions that keeps him up to date on the latest building technologies. Currently his houses are netzero ready. Most of his homes only require photovoltaic cells (solar panels) to become net zero homes.

In September 2006, Ronnie and his family moved to Glen Rose, Texas. Here he continues to build Energy Star Homes and is the only registered Energy Star builder in Somervell County.
