Lowe’s Home Improvement

The Lowes Headquarters should understand that this particular Lowes is dragging their brand into the ground. I placed an order for fencing material and was given the okay to come pick it up. Once I got home, I realized that half my order was not in the trailer they loaded. I went back to the store and found out they had stored the other half of my order in a different area, so the loaders had no idea I didn’t have all my stuff. Flash forward 4 months and I put an additional order in for fencing materials to be delivered. The order was placed on a Wednesday, and I got a call Wednesday night saying they couldn’t do the Thursday delivery and it would have to be Friday. I took off work on Friday because Lowes can’t give you a time for their deliveries. They can’t even give you whether it will be morning or afternoon. 3pm rolls around and I call the store. Surprise! Nobody in the delivery department scheduled my delivery for Friday! Then I’m told that they don’t do deliveries on weekends and don’t have a driver on Mondays. I can’t take a day off of work on Tuesday, so I schedule it for Wednesday. Here I am at almost 1PM with still no fencing, nobody answering in their delivery department, and 6 days behind on a project. If this store was your last option for material, wait until Home Depot gets the item instead.

I love Lowes and will always go to Lowes before I go to Home Depot, but this store was not up to the usual Lowes standard. Very few employees around and no one asked if we needed help. We’ll be checking out the Severn location the next time we need to visit a home improvement store.

Bottom Line: This Lowe’s store is about what you’d expect but not as nice as the nearby location in Severn.
What I like about Lowe’s in general is that they carry more stylish stuff than Home Depot. For example, at Lowe’s you will find art for your walls, more decorative light fixtures and a better collection of area rugs. As for this particular Lowe’s, it is about what you’d expect from this big box chain but a bit subpar to the Severn location. However, this Lowe’s seems to have better inventory on some of the high end items than the Severn counterpart and perhaps that is because there is less foot traffic here. If you are in a hurry, you can order your items online, park in the «Pick Up Only» spaces and then run in to get your items. Of course, the decorative nature of Lowe’s makes is a fun place to wander through and imagine your pad totally renovated.

I wish I could give a zero. I first asked for service about getting vertical blinds. The guy then said go to the paint desk and they would help me. So I went. There was no one there. An associate at the register called 6 times for assistance at the paint desk. There was no response. I waited for a total of 30 minutes because I really wanted to get these vertical blinds installed. Nonetheless there was no help. I uploaded a picture of the empty section. There was no acknowledgment from management and they were aware of the situation. On top of that they only had one check out line open. I WILL NEVER BE BACK HERE. My first and last time.

I love Lowes over Home Depot, but this one isn’t the best. We ordered some stuff online and it took forever to get it to the front. The returns girl had to physically go get our stuff because no one would answer her call in the 30 minutes of waiting. She was very nice and wanted to be as helpful as possible and she was, but she shouldn’t have to do everything. The area that needs improvement most is the paint department. Some yahoo was working there and doing paint matching, but couldn’t get the added paint inside the can to save his life. We watched him botch up another order with the paint just dripping down the side of the can and somehow we thought it would be different with us. We got our 5 gallons of paint and it had tons of paint around the rim… hellllooooo! In order to match the paint, ALL of the paint has to get inside the can. Not most of it or some of it. So the paint wasn’t matched perfectly and we didn’t spend $ 120. Put that guy in lawn and garden or something, he should not be working in paint!!!

So my previous review of 1 star is definitely for their installation and online delivery department.
But I have to write an update for their stellar staff in the paint department that I just experienced recently. So we bought almost 30 gallons of paint that had to be tinted. They couldn’t get it done the day I purchased it so we brought it back and Heather worked so hard late in the evening to get everything tinted to my satisfaction. She is a great example of great staff! I wish there were more people like her. She also had help from Christina and together they were awesome. Those two are great examples of employees to be hired and promoted because they offered something many staff lack nowadays… the human touch. :)

Generally very helpful but occasionally a bit clueless. I’ve gotten a lot of good help getting even small things but occasionally been unable to find anyone with a clue.

Had some time to kill so decided to take a walk around the Lowe’s store. It has been a few months since I had last visited this DIY.
My trip up and down the aisles was easy flowing as there was no clutter and everything was nice and clean. Every other aisle I came in contact with an employee. Each acknowledge me and asked if they could help. After the 9^th person it kind-​a became annoying but at the same time it shows a commitment of both the company and the employees to great customer service.
The trip was a success as I walked out $ 129 lighter than when I walked in and there are several new, but small upgrades, around the house. Got me some ‘atta-​boy’ kisses and thank you’s from the wife. Always a plus to get ‘atta-​boy’ kisses from the wife.

Always great to have a Lowe’s nearby. I’ve stopped here numerous times to grab random bits and pieces for whatever project I happen to be working on at the time. The store is kept clean and staff are always friendly. Just watch out for the assholes blowing through the stop signs and not yielding to pedestrians in the crosswalk… wish they’d put some speed bumps in the lot, for all the people who drive through to avoid the nearby intersection.

I ordered a washer and dryer in store for delivery. I worked with a manager who clearly
knew his stuff and a trainee who was doing a decent job already. I was told I would get a phone call the night before my requested delivery date and they would provide me with a couple of options for times, which would work out great. I also would pay up front at any register, rather than in the back.
Trouble started when I went to pay for the appliances at a random register with an associate who hadn’t been working with me on my purchase, which is a poor model if you ask me. I realized that the posted sale price was old, as each unit came in about $ 30 more than was on the sign. Next, I received the phone call the night before my requested date and was only given one option, which was the only two hour window I wouldn’t be available that day (late evening). I pressed 0 to talk to customer service and it disconnected the call. I couldn’t call directly to customer service to have it rescheduled because my «courtesy» call came in ten minutes after their lines closed. So when I called first thing at 7 am the next day, they said there was nothing they could do about my delivery today, so I had to reschedule for a day when I would be available all day, which wouldn’t be until the weekend. I am highly dissatisfied with the quality of service I’ve received here and I will be driving a little further each time to now visit the other home improvement store.

I love Lowe’s. Yes, I’m a DIY Stay at Home Mom that is currently renovating our home. I spend of lot of time at Lowe’s or using their products. I LOVE the Valspar signature paint. This stuff is the easiest paint to use. It doesn’t drip, it mixes well, it lasts and it makes me life so much easier. Behr can kiss my… Anyways, the staff here is quick, friendly and willing to help with anything.
We also take my son here for the free build and grow programs. They are the best and he has so much fun. It gets cramped, but we don’t mind. It is worth it. I can always depend on them to be nice to my little guy.

I’ve lost total respect for this Lowe’s and far prefer the one in Severn.
In my mind, the best time to judge a store is how they deal with things during a crisis. My story takes place just before Hurricane Irene hit our area.
About a week or a week and a half before the big storm I ordered a backup sump pump in case we lost power entirely. I ordered it online from Lowes and had an arrival date of Friday the next week. When that Friday came, I called up to avoid making an unnecessary trip. I was told it would arrive with the morning shipment, which comes in around 9. I strolled it at 10 and was told it wasn’t there yet and wouldn’t arrive until noon. I didn’t want to wait around for 2 hours so I told them to call me when it arrived. Noon comes and goes with no call. Around 1 I call the store and the person tells me the shipment is almost there and should arrive before I do. Once again I head to the store to pick up my merchandise. I arrive and stand in the long customer service line. When my turn finally comes, I show the order information and they have someone head to the back to pick it up. Roughly a half hour goes by and there’s no sign of the person they sent back.
Around 45 minutes to an hour after they left, the person returns empty handed and says my pump was accidentally set out on the shelves and was purchased (they were going like hot cakes because of the pending storm). Not to worry though, another shipment was coming in at 4 and he would put my name on it and personally store it somewhere no one could find it. I leave him with my phone number and take off in search of a battery, because that is sold separately and unlikely to be available.
At 4 the guy calls me and tells me he has my sump pump ready to go. I visit the store again (third time that day!) and finally walk out with my pump roughly 6 hours after I originally walked in. It made for an incredibly long day, plus it still needed to be installed.
If you have all the time in the world, this store is perfect for you. If there’s a situation where you need something fast or ordered, it might be a wise decision to send it elsewhere. Otherwise you’ll end up spending a good portion of your day going back and forth to this Lowe’s.

It’s that time of year again, time to fix up the house. This time my wife and I are painting a few of the rooms in our house. Seems like we are always going to Lowe’s for something and everytime we go it’s pretty much a no hassle adventure. We frequent the Lowe’s paint section and everytime there is someone there will to help out and give suggestions on color combinations, technique on painting and what type of paint will be best for our needs. The only complaint for me and why this is a 4 star review is not with the paint section but the cashiers, where are they? On the weekends you think they would have more then 1 register open, I see ton’s of employees walking around working in their specific sections but how about getting more cashiers. I would rather be at home getting some stuff done instead of waiting in line just to buy a few cans of paint.

My buddy ordered me an air compressor online to pick up at this location. I got to say, the customer service is outstanding! Super friendly at the customer service counter made it a breeze to get my gift.

Been a customer ever since i started renovating my entire house. Purchased windows here, gained valuable constructing advice. Tool advice not the best, but online reviews of power tools helped me here. Staff is very friendly in all departments. Even though i live in Baltimore City, i don’t mind the drive out to Glen Burnie because i know it’s worth the trip.
