History

Established in 2010.

Scents of Serenity Organic Spa, proudly serves Richmond, Carytown, Short Pump, Glen Allen, Midlothian & Ashland. Experts in organic skincare including facials, microdermabrasions and non-​surgical facelifts, as well as full service massage therapy, waxing & spray tanning. Scents of Serenity Organic Spa was started by owner Melanie, a licensed massage therapist, with the goal of bringing European spa values to Richmond, Virginia. That vision materialized into Richmond’s only organic spa. As Melanie envisioned her spa, she sourced the best equipment and the best skincare products in the world, proudly featuring Eminence Organics, the world’s #1 organic skincare line.

Unlike traditional spas Scents of Serenity is housed in a historic farmhouse in Glen Allen. Each room is uniquely designed to invoke a true sense of serenity. Windows reclaimed from an old barn pair eloquently with a massive armoire imported from France, providing immediate relaxation to clients.

Business Owner

Scents of Serenity Organic Spa owner, Melanie Mueller, was born in Germany and brought with her a deep sense of organic and natural living. Her holistic roots are what inspired her in early 2010 to open Richmond, Virginia’s only Organic Spa offering massage therapy, facials, microdermabrasions and waxing. Founded on European ideals and principles, Scents of Serenity features Eminence Organic Skincare of Hungary, the world’s #1 Organic Skincare Line.

As a spa owner, Melanie stresses the importance of continually learning more about their craft to each of her staff. She regularly attends industry training as well as holding regular workshops for her staff. A great sense of pride for Melanie is receiving compliments about the professionalism of her staff who emphasizes educating each client good skincare habits. She has been fortunate enough to host several Eminence master trainers, including Eminence President and Owner, Boldijarre Koronczay, at the spa for individual training.
