Martin’s used to carry Bell-View pickle and pepper products but it seems they have gotten away from that brand for whatever reason. I miss my Bell-View Pepperoncinis, and we stopped here while out on a road trip to see if any could be had, but that would not be the case. I’ve tried the other brands offered here and they just do not compare to the Bell-View brand. The store itself is a refreshing update compared to other Martin’s stores, and seems to be trying to emulate some of the perks of Wegmans(40 miles to the north but soon to be in the immediate Richmond area) with their Café’ and lounge area. That’s where the comparison ends, really, this is not Wegmans by any stretch of the imagination. Looking forward to seeing a great competitor enter the Richmond market!

This Martins is just a place I use as a quick stop when I need something on the way home. Their hot bar needs to be updated, it seems to me that they could do much better in comparison to some of the other grocery stores in the area. I went there to get something to throw on the grill, and was in luck they had things on sale for memorial day. It would be nice if they updated this location.

I think I might have found my newest all-purpose grocery location. If you’ve read some of my other reviews, then you might know my less-than-impressed thoughts about the Martin’s on Brook that’s closer to the city(and hence, closer to my abode). I’m, admittedly, not a fan. But this Martin’s, located near Virginia Center Commons, blows the other/closer Martin’s out of the water. Why, you ask? It’s larger, brighter, more organized, offers more organic and vegetarian products, boasts fresher produce, and has more staff. I was shocked by how clean it was, and how easy it was to navigate the aisles, even on my first visit. I’m not a fan of grocery shopping to begin with, and I often get overwhelmed on my first visit to any store. I don’t like not knowing where to find my particular granola or my smartdogs or my vegan cheese(yes, you can roll your eyes… I love it and I’m not ashamed). Despite being a first-timer at this location, I was able to find my grocery list must-haves in no time! Definitely a huge positive for me, and one that made this trip almost painless. Aside from the ease of navigating the store, every staff member I encountered was friendly and helpful. And there were plenty of checkout aisles open, so the wait was minimal! I mean seriously, this is in gigantic contrast to the aforementioned Martin’s where the checkout clerks are less than friendly and like to take their sweet old time. I will absolutely be frequenting this grocery store for my staples when I don’t want to head to Willow Lawn.
