Comfort Suites At Virginia Center Commons

Traveling home from Myrtle Beach and we needed to break up the trip home to NY. This turned out to be one of the best choices we made the whole trip. I was greeted as soon as I walked in from a very friendly and professional gentlemen. Check in was quick and easy, (with a choice privileges welcome snack pack)
The room was accessible 2 Q bed suite with living area/​sofa bed. Very spacious and clean. Great attention to detail with Hi and low peepholes and hooks in the bathroom as well as a handheld shower head that slides up and down.
In laws down the hall in another roomy 2 bed, 2 bath. Awesome Wi-​Fi! Cool plugs & USB connections to charge up, nice hot breakfast the next morning. Great Hotel !

My stay was fantastic. I have stayed in $ 400 a night hotels and not been nearly as comfortable as I was in my suite. Joe Sandy, the sales manager, give us a really great rate. The bathroom was amazing. The staff was courteous and responsive. If I’m back in Richmond, at least I know where I’ll stay.

Great stay! Hard to find, but worth it once you do! Spotlessly clean room! Cozy bed and good breakfast (eggs were too dry for me, but otherwise great selections). I would definitely stay again! Night manager that checked us in was so very nice and called to make sure everything was perfect in our room. Couldn’t ask for more!

I stayed here through the second full week of December, as part of a business trip.
Room-​wise, can’t fault it much. The bed was awesome and super comforting — slept like a log each night no bother. The room had two great TVs, a wee lounge, microwave and fridge, in all, quite comfortable. There was an issue with the bathroom where there did seem to be a faint but steady septic smell that was annoying, but I was only ever in the room at night late and to sleep, so didn’t really bother to whinge about it to the front desk.
The front desk and staff were ALL very friendly, polite and full of suggestions for places to eat and drink. They were all top-​notch, and were I marking the hotel on them alone it would surely be a high mark.
Amenities — unfortunately they were not what I would have expected. The «gym» is more accurately described as a narrow room with two treadmills, a multi-​purpose cable machine, and a fixture holding towels. No small rack of free weights, :(
My first night I went to the pool, and not a soul there. Empty. It genuinely looked creepy, with lifeguard chairs covered in blue tarps, and the room a dull grey, looking like a scene not out of place in a scene from a Silent Hill game or a Resident Evil film. I went to the hot tub, fired it up, and for the hour and half I decided to pass the time away there, not one other person came round. The pool and the hotel were generally dead as disco. And to top it off the hot tub was SO laden with chlorine and chemicals I felt like Ralphie Wiggum and my eyes were thoroughly on fire the entire time. I later learned the pool was out of service, so I’ve probably made myself sterile as a result of no one telling me before I entered that first night. But I was bored.
There is breaky included in your stay and there are copious amounts of powdered eggs, breads, yogurts, Belgian waffles, fruit, etc etc. And coffee. Gallons of plain, potent coffee. Quality. The dining room is adjacent to the main reception area, with a cool looking aquarium dividing both areas. The fish did look rather bored themselves — at night the dining room is darkened and the TV was off, poor things.
The conference facilities were grand — no cold rooms, and the bathrooms are literally across the room outside the doors — very convenient.
I have to admit that I would stay there again if it were an option but I seriously hope these inefficiencies are addressed and the place is given a bit of colour and some life. There were moments like I felt I was in the hotel from The Shining — actually I would’ve rather enjoyed that for some craic — as otherwise you’ll have to amuse yourself with the shopping centre across the road from this hotel.

The Comfort Suites on Telegraph Rd in Glen Allen is ok. The value from the cost approach is worth it. If you are looking for a great customer expierence, in my opinion you are not going to find it here. I was in Glen Allen for 3 nights for a work seminar. The class begun at 1pm. I called the hotel prior to my arrival to ask if I could check in early with hopes that I could freshen up and change from my travel attire to my business attire, which was in my suitcases so I would have needed to iron prior to changing. I called and a gentleman answered the phone when I asked if possible to get an early check in, and told him my reasoning he dud not ask me to hold wh I left he checked or anything, point blank he told me no, that’s too early to check in. So I had to go to one if the stores and buy new business attire that I could wear.
When i finished day one of my seminar and arrived at the hotel to finally check in I waited at the front desk for about 5 minutes before I was greeted. The woman that checked me in had no customer service skills, did not explain anything about the hotel, did kit tell me what time check out was, where ice machines or drink machines were located I had to ask for all if this information.
I got up to my room and turned on the lights, was pleasantly suprised at the size of the room. It was a 2 room suite a pull out sofa bed with hardwood floor and a flat screen TV in the sitting room and a huge bedroom with a king size bed, flat screen tv, desk, chair orroman, dresser, closet, and 2 night stands in the room. The bed was very comfortable and the room was very clean. I was disappointed that the bathroom did not have a tub, only a stand up shower.
Sleeping was comfortable but around 4am traffic starts to pick up on the inner star that is right behind the hotel and it gets pretty loud. The second night I was woken up at 4am and could not go back to sleep due to the constant roar of the traffic.

My husband and child came up to stay with me the last night of my visit so we were able to utilize the hot tub and pool. The pool was a little chilly but it was nice. The hot tub was ok until my husband turned on the bubbles. I don’t know what kind of chemicals were in there but we started choking, and our eyes were burning. I had to get up to the room to rinse off right away. Being that we only had the stand up shower it was very hard to wash my toddler. I had to get in the shower with her, she got shampoo all in her eyes because the water pressure was horrible.
I made the sleeper sofa for my child to sleep on. It was so uncomfortable, the metal bars were poking through the bed.
The continental breakfast was good for a free breakfast. They had a lot of choices and it really saved me money on eating expenses for my trip.
Each day they had slightly different hot food choices. In addition to waffles, oatmeal, yogart, bagles, cereal, pastries.
In conclusion if I come back in town for work on a budget I may consider staying again but, I think next time, I will choose to stay at the Marriott down the street.

Stayed here 1 night Nov. 15, 2013. We were warmly greeted by a nice young woman when we arrived and she hoped we enjoyed our stay.
Our room was a king suite ($ 115.00 & more than we needed, but all that was available when we made reservations) with pull out queen sofa bed (which we didn’t need) in a separate living room area. Room was reasonably clean, though curtains were falling down and when the bathroom floor was either grouted or the grout was fixed, the workmen left grout or something all over the tiles which makes them look very dirty. (see pics)
We opened the sofa bed to check it out — the queen sofa was a typical thin mattress with no support. Sheets, a pillow and a blanket were in a zippered case in the closet. There was a big screen TV in the bedroom as well as in the living room.
King bed had a pillow top and was very comfortable.
There was a tiled, enclosed shower room (no tub) in the bathroom with a rainfall shower head. Not my cuppa tea, but it offered an up-​to-​date look to the bath. Unfortunate that the floor looked dirty.
The room had a safe, microwave, fridge and loads of storage drawers.
Be aware rt. 95 is just outside the front of the hotel’s parking lot, so if you’re a light sleeper, you may wish to ask for a room at the back corner of the building, though it may not make a huge difference in terms of noise. I needed to wear ear plugs to dull the sound of the late night 18-​wheelers the night we stayed here.
Breakfast starts at 6 AM and is pretty good for being included in the cost of the room. Make your own waffles, scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, danish, and other breads, fruit, yogurt, juice, coffee, etc. were available in a good sized dining room off the main lobby. I believe there was also a place within the hotel to purchase sundries.
Across the street is a large shopping mall, and there are a number of fast food places scattered around the outskirts of the mall. We had dinner at the Applebee’s. I wouldn’t recommend it.
All in all, our stay was good and reasonable for the cost.

I booked a room based on TripAdvisor reviews and was looking forward to my stay. The morning of my reservation my flight got canceled due to mechanical failure. I immediately called (it was before 10:00 a.m.) my travel agent to let them know there was no way I could make it in town that day. They contacted the hotel and called me back with the «bad news» that even though the cancellation was unavoidable due to circumstances out of my control, they were STILL going to charge me for the reservation because it was not 24+ hours notice!!! I could not believe it — called the hotel myself asked very nicely for them to reconsider, as I was a first time customer. Offered to give them the flight info so they could confirm my predicament, asked for mercy — NONE offered. He was very rude and did not even apologize — just stated it was their POLICY over and over and over. I tried one more time to call the Choice Hotels (owner-​umbrella organization) «Customer Service» number, and they were even worse. They told me that even though they «technically» owned the chain, that each hotel was an individual franchise and they could make their own decisions — I was at the mercy of the hotel. (Why even have Choice Hotels customer service then, really?) I understand why these policies exist, for people who cancel at the last minute without an excuse, leaving them with inability to book rooms. But I do not understand why they would not make an exception in my case, when I know they had the power to do so. I will never stay at ANY of their hotels in their chain EVER (and I make about 2 trips/​month, so this is a lot of lost business). BOOKER BEWARE!!!

What a nice hotel! And affordable too! Breakfast was pretty good for «free» hotel breakfast.

Exceptional all the way around!

I settled for this hotel since it was near the client I was working at and it was near all the shops and stores (Virgin Commons Mall is a road and parking lot away).
I checked in around 7pm and was greeted by a friendly host. He was in a talkative mood to which I wasn’t since I had been traveling for 8 hours and just wanted to check in, take a nap, grab some food and head to bed. He was able to tell I wasn’t too pleased with his chattiness so he scaled back.
He gave me a room on the second floor at the end of the hall. I entered the room and it was quite dark. I started to turn on all the lights so it got better. The room looked clean, the carpet was a little worn and you can see signs of wear in the office chair. I was expecting the room to be more modern looking since the lobby was impeccably done with a HUGE salt water fish tank. There wasn’t a tub in my room, only a shower stall and the only water source from the shower was an overhead one (like the waterfall kind). It was bad, couldn’t get good water pressure and if I didn’t want to get my hair wet, the shower cap was the only solution. I would have preferred if they had the hand held shower.
By night time came, I had the worst night since all I heard was the cars zooming past a highway. The next night I was able to sleep through it.
They do offer a breakfast in the morning from 6am — 9am (I believe) but the food is just lousy hotel food. Unappetizing eggs, sausage, bacon. They do offer free wireless internet so you don’t need to pay extra for that.
Overall, I had an okay experience here. The hotel was clean the room was decent, and the staff was friendly.
