Best coffee ever! Love this place, love these people, and the drinks are fantastic! White Chocolate lavender mochas are now my favorite thing in the world! Also, their«Amanda is fruit loops» tea is to die for!

Easily the best coffee in town. The environment is relaxed and unique and I always get a friendly welcome with a smile! P. S. Try the lavender mocha!

I went here for coffee something like 4 or 5 months ago and haven’t been back since. I’ll say this: whoever served me at the time was very nice and friendly. So service is good… which is why it sucks to say that 3* feels generous. Frankly, I didn’t like the coffee here one bit. To be fair, I’m not a fan of dark roasts, which seems to be what they do. Even still, the drip I got here seemed especially charred. And then the beans I bought at the same time? It was bad enough that the person selling them thought they were probably«only» a few weeks past the roast date when I asked(as if that would mean maybe they hadn’t lost all their flavor by that point?). Anyway, I wish I hadn’t taken the risk on the beans for the sake of convenience. They tasted as old as I’d feared they might and I threw out nearly the full bag. Anyway, I think it’s great that the community likes them. But there’s much better coffee all around Portland.

I can’t believe I have never written a review for this wonderful place! I have been coming to Happyrock for a long time. When they first opened I was a kid and so the only time I went was Halloween. But in high school it changed ownership and I got to know Lisa. Who is an awesome friend of mine. We have had some amazing conversations. Also some weird/funny ones. I have been part of playing live music here in the summer. It is literally my favorite place to get coffee… But the problem with my life is I am always on the go. So I usually settle for not as good coffee. When I come to Happyrock I make sure I got time to get the coffee sit down… Do some noodling on the guitar. Talk. Fall asleep in the chair… You know… Normal stuff. Because I know how much time Lisa puts into making the best cup of coffee. And don’t wanna run in… And run out. She has won multiple awards. And still continues to get to strive to get better and better. I love happy rock coffee and you should definitely try a jaw grinder next time your in ;)

We made a special stop on our way home from our Oregon road trip on the recommendation of a stranger we camped next to in Crater Lake. Very friendly staff and customers. Fantastic espresso and we even grabbed a pound of whole bean, to go which has been great to have at home to keep our vacation feeling alive! Thank you to Larry for pointing us in the direction of Happyrock Coffee! Wherever you are… Cheers!

After trying different coffee everyday for over a week all over Oregon… this was by far my favorite. I had an iced latte and it was absolutely delicious!

Owner operated. Best place for coffee that we have ever had. She roasts her own beans and makes her own syrups. Has several unique items to include«coffee pop» and lavender limeade. Although the the interior is small she has an outdoor patio with several seating areas that also sports a pond with fish you can feed.

D found this place when we were staying in Clackamas for a couple weeks. I always judge a coffee shop by their drip coffee and Happyrock does not disappoint. The coffee has such a great flavor, slightly sweet and bold — just the way I like it. I recently tried the ice coffee and the coffee pop w/cream. They were both outstanding! The iced coffee has incredible body and holds the cream well, which I think is a great indicator of the quality. The coffee pop was SOGOOD. I added vanilla and it was quite possibly the most refreshing coffee drink I’ve ever had. It’s a bit on the sweet side which was fine for a Sunday but if I were to get this drink regularly, I’d probably switch out for another sweetener. The barista is always incredibly friendly and will shoot the breeze with you while she crafts your drink. We have no problem making the trek from North Portland to Gladstone for Happyrock!

I thought I was set up for a pretty bad day. Normally I love libraries but I am not a fan of the Gladstone one. I was not looking forward to staying there for five hours while my son took his state testing. Happyrock completely changed my day. Right behind the library parking lot I walked through a cozy patio and stepped into this tiny coffee shop. I was reminded of my younger years hanging out in coffee shops just about when that was becoming the cool thing to do in the 1990’s The barista was friendly and personable right off of the bat. I instantly adored her. I told her what I was in the mood for which happened to be something decadent. I wanted to fix my sour morning with something ridiculously sweet. She sold me on a Mexican Mocha. It is delicious. Certainly not a everyday coffee with its chocolate, cinnamon, hazelnut, espresso whipped cream, chocolate sauce and honey. It is a dessert and just what I was in the mood for. They use local whole milk made in Oregon City. Fresh, creamy and filling. They serve small bites, bagels and the like. I will go out of my way to stop here, maybe bring a friend so we can be reminded of the old days, sitting out back drinking coffee and smoking cigarettes like the delinquent teens we once were. My only disappointment is that I did not try this place sooner just because I dislike Gladstone.

Homey, small, comfy. Prices on tea ok, seen slightly better. love how they serve the tea in glasses with hand made yarn covers. When I was there, a group of about 5 – 6 was there, and it was loud. My friend and I could hold a conversation, but it was irritating and impossible to ignore or tune out the group. Not your place to go for quiet getaway(at least when I saw it), but more atmosphere than many places. Neighborhood less than appealing.

Love to support the locals, and so far have not been disappointed coming here! Always delicious cup of coffee, love a good latte and they do it here! The only complaint is that they close to early on the weekends, I like a coffee in the late afternoons sometimes and would much rather get one at Happyrock than Starbucks! PS, the espresso whip cream is heavenly :)

Pay w square. I ordered a coffee pop which was interesting… coffee, syrup, cream and seltzer. I don’t think I’d get it again but I’m glad I tried it. And I did drink the whole thing. Live music… it was a fun family kind of event w guitar. I liked the feel of the café. But it was kinda dark and def chilly today. The music was great, big band. And the guitars were all over the board. There’s parking outside for four hours and free WiFi. Everyone seemed to be ordering eggnog lattes so maybe I’d try that when I go back. Loved the local collabs! Molly Muriel soap on site made w Happy Rock grounds. And Fearless Brewing’s porter w coffee. Yum! Cute patio out back. Staff was friendly. Wish there was more lighting. Overall, cool place! I’ll be back. Also I’m not a coffee connoisseur… Is pour over avail as iced? I love iced coffee but the closest options were americano or ???

This place was a mainstay for me in High School, dating back to 2002. Though I believe it has since changed ownership, I was happy to stop in on my most recent visit home. Awesome service, great coffee and such a jewel for this sleepy little town. Gladstone deserves a place like this.

The service? Excellent. The barista? Friendly and engaging. The coffee? Well, let’s just say it comes with a side of diabetes. My large Ginger Mocha was honestly half chocolate and half chocolate, with nary a hint of espresso or ginger. I paid for two extra shots of espresso to even things out, but still couldn’t stomach this $ 7 chocolate shake.

Very cool small eclectic coffee shop with a potted plant inspired patio with chairs for all sizes. They have«coffee standards» and their«specialty drinks». Trying the Mexican Mocha among other mochas such as German chocolate mocha, lavender mocha”. Knitting group, Heavy Metal Knitting Group, meets every Fridays1−3pm. Pretty awesome.

I picked this place out of the blue today. The shop is tiny and eclectic, and the customers all seem to be old friends. I was easily pulled into conversation, and the barista was friendly and accommodating, but not overly peppy. The Americano was dark and smooth, and I was glad to see Stevia on the shelf. The wifi is fast, but the shop was a little grubby. I’m enjoying the sunshine on the back patio though!

The staff was very easygoing, the shop had a very nice country feel, with excellent coffee. I had an Americano with soy, and the perky, red-haired barista poured it right up, even offering suggestions on other roasts to try for next time. There is wifi, outdoor seating and one of the most unique aspects of this shop, is that they roast their beans right inside the customer seating area, which serves as a treat to see for those who get chills of joy at the sight and smell of freshly roasted coffee.

I’m never out in Gladstone, but had to come out here to meet someone at the DMV. I was in need of an iced refresher and found Happyrock. Happyrock is a great little coffee shop that knows what it’s doing! They have some delicious looking drinks on their menu… lavender limeade, balsamic strawberry italian soda and horchata with espresso. I ordered my usual… an iced americano! I feel a little guilty since I probably won’t ever make my way out here again, but the americano was delicious! The barista with purple hair knows how to pull great shots! Indoor and outdoor seating. Home-y and lived-in feeling. Possibly an old house? I’m here at 12:45 on a sunny Thursday afternoon. It’s pretty empty, but it could be due to this weather! There is only one pastry left… a chocolate croissant. So either this place is so popular that they are sold out, or they don’t start with many pastries in the first place. Bottom line… great espresso and friendly employees.

They are still killin’ it down there at this lesser-known roaster in Gladstone. And they really could not care less about a popularity contest. They’ve been doing this a lot longer than many of the Portlandia roasters. Fun, tiny shop, seriously excellent coffee. I gave everyone I love a bag of their beans for the holidays, stocked up myself, had a bitchin’ hot chocolate, and relaxed for a while, not a care in the world.
