History
Established in 2001.
I opened up the weekend after 9÷11÷2001. The business is tucked away in a business park & the city won’t let us put signage out on the main road, so our growth has been steady and strong and virtually all word of mouth. That has been a blessing: we have discovered that no one refers a dead-beat to their favorite mechanic.
We have the best customers out there bar none!
Come to Mackert Automotive for a quality, reasonably priced repair and preventative maintenance services.
We are the only shop in the area offereing
18,000 miles or 18 months parts and labor warranty.
Meet the Business Owner
Howard M.
Business Owner
Howard (owner & manager) worked at a dealership as a technician right out of highschool. After 2 years he was promoted to shop forman: writing repair orders and controling flow of work for 10 technicians.
After 6 years Howard went to college, working at another GM dealer as a tech. After his 3rd year he was hired by Oldsmobile as a District Service Manager which took him to Montana and then Denver. While in Denver Howard switch from dealer service to GM engineering. That position brought him to Gig Harbor after 3.5 years in Southern Cal. As a Field Engineer for GM Howard flew around the northwest repairing cars and truck that the service «hotline» could not resolve.
After leaving GM (16 years) Howard flew around the US training diesel mechanics in the basics of electricity and the new electronic control systems. The recession of 2000 stopped training and Howard eventually opened up his repair shop here in Gig Harbor: «The best kept secret in the Harbor.»
