Don’t call here about getting a price for service unless you’re prepared to give them all your personal information and VIN number to get that information. I called to find out how much they would charge to replace my battery. Gave them the make, model and year which is enough information, but they refused to tell me how much unless I gave them my name, address, phone and VIN number. Said their software wouldn’t give them the information without all my information. I just wanted a price so I would know whether or not to go there. In this modern era personal information is NOT given out unless I’m going to be a customer there. I’ll take my business elsewhere.

My technician went above and beyond to solve my tire problem, recommending a cost saving approach while educating me on the benefits of all of my options. He also researched a problem I was having and found that there was a recall notice for my vehicle; which saved me a lot of time, money and trouble. He was helpful, prompt and cheerful, providing an excellent customer service experience with good humor. Thank you!

Warning: you may be shocked when you go to Precision Auto in Germantown… you may not be ready for how nice, courteous, professional and good these guys are! I know I was floored. Not saying other auto shops are bad, but it’s obvious that the guys at Precision Auto take pride in customer treatment and care about doing a good job. I can’t speak to cost being more or less than average since every auto issue can be wildly different. I know their prices are not out of the realm of normalcy in the industry. But even if they are more costly (again, not saying they are) they are most surely worth it.
Remember the first time you went to Chick Fil A and were shocked at how nice the people working there are? That’s how it feels to go to PA! :)
They even give you follow up calls just to see how things are going. Most people you’ll date in life won’t even do that!

I have been using Precision Auto for several times over the past few years, with two different cars, and have always received excellent service. I greatly appreciate the online report generated and know what to ask for/​expect from future visits. The staff is friendly and very knowledgeable. I have read a previous review about a problem with state inspection, I think the issue is that they are by the book and do not cut corner (which I greatly appreciate), they found minor issues which were quickly repaired and I was on my way. Their work speaks for itself, and they have a lasting customer in me!

I brought my car here over the summer for the state vehicle inspection. I was pretty happy with my experience. They’re a little more expensive than other places in the area, but they offered a more clear review of what my car needed to be able to pass the inspection. I was spoken to in a friendly manner and was not spoken down to whatsoever. I find that this sometimes happens because I’m a woman, and I don’t have a lot of knowledge regarding cars. I really appreciated this.
They also offer pickup/​dropoff services within 5 miles. I brought my car back a few days later to have them make one final repair. This was done simultaneously with the inspection and my vehicle passed.
I went back to Precision Auto last week to have my oil changed. When I called, they told me that an oil change would be $ 45 and went over my file to see if I wanted anything else taken care of. I declined and dropped off my car the following morning. I was given a ride home and received a call about 5 hours later with an update on other repairs that they recommend I have taken care of at some point. I was picked up and brought back to the location. Since my husband and I signed up for their frequency program, we had received a coupon in the mail for $ 10 off any service.
Overall, this was another good experience! I appreciate their courtesy pickup/​dropoff services, as well as their thorough overview of my vehicle. I always receive a printout with their recommendations whenever I get my car serviced so that I’m aware of any issues. I also receive this information via text in case I wanted something addressed immediately. Very nice, especially just before a big road trip!

Very good service. Explained what needed to be done and why and what possibly caused the issue. I brought my truck in on Friday evening. They checked if they could fit me in for Saturday. They had some room which was great because I was worried about the timing. Ordered new tires Saturday and they received the same day. Replaced tires and resurfaced rotors and had the truck back late Saturday.
Would recommend to others! Only down side I could possibly be a problem for others is they don’t accept checks.

Just relocated to MD from MA and needed to get a car inspection. I found Precision by doing a search for nearby auto centers. Their service was very professional, the auto center is very clean, so much that you forget where you are. You don’t even hear the noise that usually comes from working on cars. Same as was mentioned in other reviews — service takes too long to wait so a shuttle is provided.
I would definitely visit Precision again for major issues; however, for routine things like an oil change, it would be more convenient to have it done where I can wait for my car and don’t need an appointment.
I would definitely recommend Precision.

Had tires delivered here from Tire Rack. Smooth transaction from beginning to end. Highly recommend.

There was nothing wrong with my car but they tried to say I would needed to spend $ 2000 just to pass an inspection but when I went to another place they said my car was fine and passed me without trying to cheat me.

These guys have total honesty and reliability as their modus operandi and have kept our family cars running for more than 30 years. We wouldn’t think of taking our vehicles anywhere else.

I took my car here last month for the Maryland vehicle safety inspection. It is a bit pricier than some other options. However, I do appreciate the pick up/​drop off service they offer. If you bring your car there they can drop you off and pick you up while your car is in the shop. They also provided a clear and detailed summary of the issues that needed attention. I was not spoken down to or made to feel like I don’t understand how cars work. The one issue I would have is that they only use parts they purchase. You can’t purchase your own parts and bring them in for them to install. I tend to prefer buying the parts myself if I can to save some money. I do recommend them and will probably be back for future service.

Had my car towed here after a dead battery. They were so friendly and helpful that I brought my car back for brake services and the occasional tune up. Steve is great and so are the other staff. I would recommend to anyone in the area!

I’ve been a very satisfied customer of Precision Auto for many years. You can count on family-​style service with a diligent regard for both safety and economy. The don’t replace something unless it needs replacing; though they’ll give fair warning if it looks like something will need to be replaced soon. But don’t worry; they flag the upcoming need in their data base so that you don’t have to worry about reminding them. Besides that, they’re AAA approved and take AAA cash back coupons if you’re a AAA member.

I pass this shop frequently on the way to work. I ordered some brake pads and rotors online and needed a place to install them onto my vehicle. I was in a hurry and this place was the first location that came to mind. I called to get prices for brake pad and rotor installation. The guy told me they didn’t accept outside parts and wouldn’t perform the work. Yeah okay. I know what that was all about. I wasn’t important enough because you wouldn’t be able to make that much money from me. Or was it that you wouldn’t have the chance to mark up the price of the brake pads and rotors after you would have purchased them from the same website as I did.
Fine by me that you’re a business and don’t want everyone’s money. I’ll gladly take my vehicle someplace else where they don’t mind installing pads and rotors. Don’t give me that bullcrap about «We’re not able to install outside parts because it’s a liability.» That’s a joke because your parts warranty and my parts warranty are the same. If anyone ever wanted to file a wrongful lawsuit against you because they secretly sabotaged their own vehicle trying to pin the blame on you, they would just do exactly that after they get everything purchased and installed by you. Since I highly think that’s not the case, it can only be that you don’t have a chance to mark up the cost of the parts.

We’ve been taking our cars here for 13 years. The quality has always been excellent and the service staff is very professional and friendly. They call you by name when you walk in the door. Nice to have some small town feel here in Germantown.

My family recently moved to the D.C. Metro area from the Midwest, and it’s been my experience that I should expect to tack a additional $ 100 or more to every estimate I’ve received for work in this area, and I should expect that customer service will be average, at best. That was definitely not the case at Precision Auto. I was happy that the price actually came in slightly under the estimate. The work was on time (faster than I thought, too), and the customer service I received was excellent.

Precision got back to me and refunded the initial diagnosis fee. The were very apologetic. I’m still baffled at how the diagnosis could go so wrong but I appreciate the customer service and follow through so I give them an extra star for that.

I could probably call around and try to find lower prices but, for me, the super-​clean shop and polite, friendly staff are worth it. I’m confident in the work they do here and that’s rare.

I got my car inspected here, a few months later brought it over there again for a different problem. They said they gave the car a general look and gave me a list of things that need to be fixed. However, most of those things were supposedly were fixed during the inspection.
Also, Bud, I think is the owner, was rude when I asked a simple question about the part of the car that needed to be changed.
Only one extra star goes for the friendliness of the other guys at the desk.
