The Home Depot

I’ve given this store SEVERAL chances. I’ve had to repeatedly go to other stores to find my needs. The knowledge of the «sales associates» is abysmal. I constantly find my needs either not stocked or just a few pieces. For instance, plug covers, the ones I needed were few or there was only one light fixture but no others.
I’m done. I’m cutting up my Home Depot card and shopping Lowes from now on

I am writing this review as I leave frustrated without what I came for. Why? Not because they didn’t have it. Not because I didn’t have enough money. Not because I change my mind about doing some home repairs tonight. But because NO ONE would help me! Every time I saw someone in an orange apron they either worked in a different department or was not able to help me. Someone was called to lumber twice and I waited 20 minutes after I finally started clocking it on my phone. I’m so tired of using this Home Depot! Sometimes they are fine and other times they are like this. I’ll be going to Lowes from now on.

Why do I feel like I need to shoot a rescue flair every time I step foot in a Home Depot? Come on, HD employees, you see me looking overly hard for stuff, pacing, sweating, sighing a lot! Lend me a hand. The aisles are so long and tall. One false step and backtracking can take too much time. Ugg.
How about a store map at the entrance like they have at the mall? X-«You are here.» With a quick detailed directory. Lightbulbs? Aisle 7. Chalking? Aisle 2. Rescue flairs? Aisle SOL.

Michael in the lumber department went above and beyond to help my sister and I fine everything we needed to make repairs for a customers house. We thanked him and went on are way to grab a few more items. As we were trying to find the last item Michael magical appeared with the sealer we needed. He saved us so much time we really loved all the help. Thanks Mike your the best.

I have been standing in line for thirty minutes trying to pick up a rental truck and no one has even acknowledged my existence. And There are employees walking around. A guy in line behind me told me this is his second time here this morning, that he gave up the first time.

I don’t know why I keep trying.
I asked customer service where to find an item. They sent me to the wrong isle and said there would be two guys who could help in the area. I waited around 10 minutes, checking the near by isles, and couldn’t find either gentleman. So I went to the employee station, where there were two abandoned PDAs. Surely they’d be back for their equipment? No. I waited another 20 minutes. Two employees past who looked free, looking down each isle. I tried to flag them down and get help but they sped up rather than help me.
I gave up waiting for help and used the abandoned computer, left logged in, to google the exact parts I needed and wandered around until I found them. The customer service here is abysmal and the prices are terrible. If it isn the only place open I whole heartedly recommend going literally anywhere else. If it is the only thing open? Drive to Austin.

On a Saturday morning, I had a garage full of water, a family that needed hot showers, and all the plumbers were asking for $$$ and wouldn’t do anything until Monday. So I decided to try doing the work myself, but needed to drive 45-​minutes to Georgetown to get the right propane water tank in stock. I called ahead to ask that they hold the parts, and when I arrived, all the parts were set aside on a cart and ready.
I spoke with Stan in plumbing for about 15 minutes and I couldn’t have found a better person to help me learn and prepare. Heck, I didn’t even know how shark-​bite fittings worked. Thank you Stan and Home Depot Georgetown for helping me get the job done right, when the pressure was on. A++

This is my favorite H D store, clean, organized and a superior staff.
I arranged for a pergola through this store to be installed over my patio at the rear of my home. Until now, we could not use the patio on warm days because it caught the full afternoon sun.
The in home service provider is a company called Lawn Master. The estimator was thorough and professional. The installers stuck to the plan and delivered what was promised. This project needed a building permit and even the building inspector was very impressed. Needless to say, we are looking forward to finally using our patio even on the hottest days.

I was looking for a ceiling fan and this store showed seven in its system. I asked one fellow and he didn’t bother to double check. I asked another person and he checked, but didn’t find anything.
I tried one more time to make sure. Alex, a younger fellow, coordinated with Tom. Tom appeared to be a manager and he assured me they would get to the bottom of the discrepancy.
Alex was very determined and looked all over the store for the product. It was the hardest item to find that day. I found one and only needed one more. Thanks to Alex they will get five stars for his dedication and determination.

We bought a GE Washer in 2010 and had purchased this pedestal. The product itself is fine and it does rise the height of the washer door to a comfortable level for loading and unloading the washer. Here is the rub… we decided to replace our 2010 washer with a 2014 model. I researched the 2014 GE model and in the manual online it showed this pedestal as being compatible. We purchased the washer and signed up for the «free» delivery and haul away of the old washer. When the delivery took place (10 days later than scheduled) the delivery guy looked at our old washer and said they can’t touch the pedestal… they can’t remove it from the old washer and they can’t install it on the new washer! I was faced with bad choices…1) Let them haul off my old washer along with my $ 200 pedestal and install the new washer with no pedestal. 2) Leave the old washer and pedestal and install the new washer… again sans pedestal. Bottom line… they were not about to touch the pedestal. I wasn’t happen with either choice and said they could keep the washer… at which point they informed me it was already off the truck and couldn’t be taken back. I refused to sign for it and they left in in my driveway with a copy of the delivery notice and «Customer refused to Sign» written across it. With some assistance, I was able to move the old washer and pedestal, remove the pedestal and install it on the new washer. The old washer it waiting to be picked up by the Salvation Army. The happy ending is that I am able to share this with you and let you make an informed decision about purchasing an appliance from Home Depot… something I won’t ever do again.

very happy with home depot. i go there every time i am at sun auto service in front of them to kill time. i always find something i need. the staff is super awesome

Oh yessssss. I love this Home Depot. I love the service desk the most. I love how helpful Sally is. I also like how friendly and helpful Cindy is. Those two gals need a raise! I love the self check out options, and I like the huge garden department. Beautiful employees, great customer service. I don’t live in georgetown, but I will only shop at this store. I will be a life time shopper.

I was in home depot the other day. And as I was being helped by what I believe was one of the best cashiers that work there, from all the times I have been. I overheard other cashiers talking horribly about another coworker (I believe they were talking about the cashier who was helping me). This is a great home depot. But from the bad talk I hear from other cashiers about their own coworker, I dont think they deserve my business. Hearing bullying going on in a workplace like this disgusts me. But other than that I would give this place a good review… only because the cashier went out of her way to help me. Sadly I cannot remember her name. She was a young girl with her hair up, and really polite and answered any questions I had. I recommend this place if you can come across the same cashier as I did.

I shop here regularly (at least once a week) and have found just about everything at this store to be mediocre. Prices? Just OK. Service? If you can catch someone in an orange apron they are pleasant enough. Store appearance? Acceptable. Fairly good selection, but often out of stock on items I want. I buy here because it’s in the neighborhood, but I sure wouldn’t drive past a Lowe’s store to do so. Yawn…

Great store, employees are helpful and knowledgable. Have always had what I needed in stock.

Excellent customer service and the employees are very knowledgeable about the products. The men in the garden section were the sweetest and most helpful. Didn’t give five stars because they needed more than one check out open. Self check outs are kind of frustrating at hardware stores.

Tired of big hardware store employees knowing less than you? If you frequent these store you know exactly what I’m talking about… — and these are not made up, I’m so amused by the lack of knowledge that I share it in the car after I’ve done all the leg work and educated a couple of the employees on, you know, what screws do and how lock washers work– …

What’s the difference between titebond 1, 2, and 3?
–Not much, *grabs bottle and inspects it*, hmmm, this one says superior adhesive. Let me look at 2 … well, it says the same thing. What are you using it for?

*pulls out iphone*, –cobalt?, hmmm, well, Here’s some titanium ones, and this one over here says it’s made from some sort of black material, they’ll probably work.
Well, no, I need cobalt, it’s eats through metal much faster than even titanium and or HSS.

Ok good. Finally. So what are the differences between this ryobi and rigid? I know Rigid is a better brand but I was wondering if I’d be able to tell where the extra money went.

Avoiding employees like they’re papparazzi, 99 times out of a hundred I know more than them, and I’ve only been doing this for 4 months.
Enter, Cody, at the georgetown, tx store next to walmart.
I see him starting to approach and try to not make eye contact. He finds me and asks me what I’m looking for or if I have any questions. I tell him I’m on my way to get glue sticks.
«glue sticks? what are you making?»
A shelving unit with mini drawers to hold nuts and washers, etc.
«ohh, well, I actually know something better and cheaper, follow me»
I keep trying to wander off so I’ll lose him and not waste another 15 minutes of my time watching someone fumble around with their smart phone, or try to locate other employees, who are assuming I’m on some alien planet because there’s no way, at all, that something on earth would be called a caulking gun. He finds me, ’ no, this way man, come check it out’. He says, ‘ok, so, what are your materials?‘
I’m gluing plastic to metal.
«ok, ok, so first, I’ll show you this, it’s rubber silicone, it’ll bond but it’s not super sturdy, but, moisture doesn’t effect it.»
Well I want something kind of sturdy…
«ok cool, come check this stuff out. Loctite. Do not, and I repeat, do not get any of this on your skin, it’s dries in seconds and will actually bond skin to skin and you’ll need some obscure solvent to undue it unless you want to pull your fingers apart and deal with a bad situation.»

Toilet bowl?
«yeah, but it works like a charm, this’ll get anything you can think off off the piece, and unlike some of the other products, it doesn’t stain the metal, or start eating into it if you’re not baby sitting it.»

This location is unable to stock fast-​moving items. Associates are occupied with their own projects, chatting, etc., Front desk double-​charged me for an expensive item and did not apologize, but instead, raised her voice as I left the store.

I see there are many other people on here giving this Home Depot’s customer service great reviews and I’d like to add onto that.
The gentleman I spoke with was very helpful, to the point and polite. I highly recommend using this location for any needs.
