We are a gift and home décor store featuring handmade items from throughout the U.S. We represent over 300 artisans who make wonderful jewelry, great wood boxes and novelties, blown glass décor and ornaments,

functional and decorative pottery, mixed media wall art, and outdoor metal art and chimes.

Our staff and services are very accommodating: we wrap, ship, take special orders, and assist in any way possible to make your experience a true Escape from the ordinary. We hope you’ll come check us out today!

History

Established in 1996.

Owners, Len and Judy, opened the store in 1996. Since then, they have grown every year, expanding 3 times, and adding an online business in 1998. In 1999, they purchased the 100 year old Evans Building, gutted it and rebuilt it to house the most wonderful and unique collection of handmade items that you will find anywhere. «We travel the U.S. to find the best items that are made with quality and style. Affordabilty is very important, as well» says Judy.

Len is a craftsman and you’ll find a great selection on his handcrafted clocks in the shop. They have great gifts for men, women and those who have everything… come see for yourself why poeple drive from near and far to shop here!

Business Owner

Judy has a long carreer in retail, working more than 15 years in executive retail management prior to opening The Escape. She loves continually evolving the business and trying to keep ahead of the demands and needs of todays consumer.

The store has great staff: Dale, Linda, Shawnee, Janet, Sheri and Lori are always ready to assist. They have combined experience of 21 years at The Escape and are very knowledgeable about the artists work that they sell.
