Very dry, stale tasting. Got half dozen for $ 21.50. Didn’t eat but one. Will not go back.
Also asked they put them in a box and they said I would need to pay extra… you get the plastic container… WON’T GO BACK AT THAT QUALITY AND PRICE.

I recently attended a function that served their cake and truly felt sorry for them. Besides their embarrassment for how the cake looked (sloppy and wet) it was the driest cake I’ve ever had. The cake was obviously made too far in advance and apparently the couple was pressured into booking them which they whole heartedly regret. So sad because it seems they were over promised and under delivered.

I tried to do a bachelorette party here and they clearly did not want my business. I turned them down originally after they took 3 weeks to respond (after I had to call to remind them they were going to have a manager contact me for events). After not finding many other options my sister and I gave the benefit of the doubt and tried again with them and this time they never responded. Had another friend who wanted to use them for a wedding cake and again they never responded. Must not need business here because there customer service is horrible. Will never go here or reccomend party services here. Found another place in Geneva that got back to me next day who was amazing and I booked right away.

The Sugar Path is amazing and Nina & Michelle provided the best customer service! They were recommended to my fiancé and I through a list of preferred vendors and I am very glad we met with them and tried their delicious sweets! We cannot wait for the sweets table at our wedding!

My husband was so sweet to order a birthday cake from this bakery for my Birthday that was yesterday. When went into order it the lady who helped was so rude. She was not helpful at all. He already knew the decorations he wanted because I had always commented on how pretty the rose cakes were. He usually gets my Birthday cake from Heidis Bakery in Geneva, but this year he decided to try this bakery and suprise me. Well from start to finish it was not a good experience for him. When we cut into the cake it literally fell apart it was sooo dry. Not one person ate the cake after tasting it. I felt really bad for him that he tried to so hard to suprise me and this is what he got.
He called The sugar path today and they told him they are not taking any responsibility for the quality of the cake because the owner made it and that the cake he ordered can sometimes be dry. I don’t find that type of customer service acceptable from any business. We will never order from the Sugar path again nor will we recommend the bakery to anyone we know. We are Geneva residents and really like to support our local businesses but there is no excuse for the reply my husband received when he called the business. I dont feel like I even had a Birthday cake this year.

Stopped in today hoping to get a slice of pie. Not much to choose from so we ordered a brownie which looked delicious and a piece of coconut cake. The brownie was so dry it was inedible. The cake was moist but didn’t have much flavor. The filling had the taste and consistency of margarine. Sorry to say, I am not a fan.

We found this place on a recommended bakeries list at a hall we looked at for our wedding. Although we didn’t stick with the venue, we still wanted to check out the bakery.
My fiancé is a buttercream fan, i’m an Italian buttercream fan. I don’t know how this place does it, but their cupcake frosting tastes like both! The owner was nice on the phone but you could tell when we met with her on a Saturday that she was preoccupied with planning for the events that day. I wont hold that against her, I get it. She definitely knew what kind of a top tier cake we wanted for cutting when I described my wedding and it just so happens she had a similar one for that day. It was exactly what I was looking for! This place is definitely in our «yes» list for bakeries and I’m so glad we decided to check this place out.
Their churro cupcake was delicious and one we plan to pick if we decide to go with The Sugar Path, amongst our other three choices. Try it!

So excited to visit this place– went by there several time and they were closed, however I finally get there and was terribly disappointed in the atmosphere– let me say I came here and knew of the place from a tv show that I watch– Little Women of LA– one of the ladies purchased her wedding cake from this place — so it must be great cake right… Nope not the case the cupcakes were mediocre and the lady was just rude– let me just say I am not a «fan»…

My husband says that we sole support The Sugar Path we get treats from the bakery so much. We have tried almost all the pies and every single cake and love every bite.
We also had centerpiece cakes on each table for the wedding. We had beautiful cakes and each table had a different flavor. Now each table only had 7 or 8 people at the table so we had originally said to get the 6″ cakes for each table and the best decision I made for our entire wedding is tell my father this. He thought that was way to small and trust me it would have been. He called and made each cake bigger the Wednesday before our wedding and it was well worth it.
At the wedding we put the best tasting cakes that people would want to try at tables where people didn’t know anyone or why people who were somewhat shy this made them talk to others. Everyone mingled from table to table and tried little slices at each. Our own cake was wonderful. Trust me you could never ever have too much cake and it worth the money to go bigger. People keep saying how fun it was to try all the flavors. We also rented a different cake stand for each table and it added such a beautiful look to the tables. The sisters did such a great job on each and every cake.
We have also taken a couples pie class since my husband loved the salted honey pie more than anything else. It was such a fun date night!
Our Easter cake the last two years has been the carrot cake. It is by far the best I have ever had. Loaded with nuts smooth but thick cream cheese frosting and even better warm.
We cant recommend the bakery more.
Oh and try the lemon blueberry cake if they have it. Then call me and tell me it is the cake of the day I want a slice too :)

Update 9÷12÷15: So since my first review, I’ve actually been able to taste the cake that was made for my daughter’s birthday. It was very delicious and beautiful! The only thing I’m disappointed about is that about a month before we ordered, I had emailed the shop pictures of what I wanted and I also wanted prices in writing to keep in line with my party budget.
It was frustrating that I had to write them twice in order to get a response (I even gave them 4 days to respond). And what was even more frustrating is that once I got in contact with one of the owners, Michelle I believe. She responded to me once and then said she would get back to me about if they could make their cookies gluten free. Well, I never heard back from her and it had been weeks. I finally went in and placed the order and spent $ 80. I would have loved to purchase cookies for the party as well, but no one had ever got back to me.
Overall, adorable place with quality desserts. I just hope that they work on their communication with their customers via email. I could have easily been turned off and went somewhere else, but I really wanted to give them a chance. The best part about this place, is their associate Ben, he is so sweet and helpful! I will definitely order from here again, I just hope next time it’s a perfect experience!

Amazing little place! I’ve been looking into my options for my daughter’s gluten free cake for her birthday party. After leaving Sweet Natalie’s a bit disappointed, we headed over to The Sugar Path and were presented with so many great options. The staff were knowledgable, friendly and enthusiastic about their bakery! They were exactly what I’ve looking for. Beautiful cakes and desserts!

I used «The Sugar Path» for my wedding on 7÷11÷2015. The experience could not have been any better!
I knew for my wedding that I wanted to do «centerpiece cakes» — meaning, we wanted to put a 6″ round cake on all 20 of our tables, all in various flavors. When I told this to a few other bakeries, they either dismissed it completely, told me it was a bad idea, or seemed reluctant to do it. However, when I brought the idea to Michelle at The Sugar Path, she was excited and and eager to help us out.
We ended up with 21 6″ round cakes in 12 different flavors, all decorated differently to make each table unique. We supplied each guest with a «Cake Menu» so they could see which flavor was at which table, and after dinner we let the guests get up, mingle, and slice their own piece of cake from any table. It was a HUGE HIT, and the cakes were delicious!
Selecting the flavors was a blast, we got to try so many different types. They were also prompt with delivery and setup and were very quick! The price was moderate but so worth it.
I truly can’t say enough good things. It was one of my favorite parts of our wedding!

Cute little bakery/​coffee shop in downtown Geneva! I really didn’t need to stop in but it was too cute to pass up. They offer cupcakes, cookies, pies, cakes, etc. you can choose coffee or tea to go with the sweets. They have tables and chairs so you can eat there or get it to go. I chose a chocolate & peanut butter cupcakes. Woah! Amazing! I would love to stop in here again!

The main thing that keeps me craving these and coming back: the frosting! It’s heavenly; not too dense, not overly sweet (well for me). Cupcakes are one of my favorite desserts and they scored. Amazing concoctions as well; step out, get something with banana and peanut butter. It won’t disappoint! Service is usually youth but they are always helpful. The place is clean and coffee is always very good. Check it out.

The décor is so Pinterest! Super cute and eclectic! I love it! All of it! I ordered and oreo pie, my kids both got cupcakes and my husband ordered a strawberry rhubarb pie with two generous scoops of ice cream. Everything… I mean everything we ordered was delicious! We sat on the sofa closest to the front door, which was very comfortable. I love the entire feel of The Sugar Path. Only thing was there wasn’t any chocolate milk or juice. But it was close to closing time. But still. Definitely coming back again to try more goodies!

Honestly, I don’t think I could accurately describe how much I love this place!
I should start by saying that I have a major sweet tooth, it runs in the family, and that causes me to be a bit more critical about sweets. It’s hard for me to find something that truly stands out.
So on Christmas Eve 2014 I got up bright and early to get to the Sugar Path when it first opened. I didn’t want to get there late and have all the good flavors gone.
I live less than five minutes away and there was already a line to the door! That’s a good sign if you ask me! The other good sign was the line was moving quickly! The employees had their stuff together and left me with little waiting.
On top of being officiant, they were so freaking nice! I LOVE nice people and good customer service! Unfortunately, it’s so much easier to experience bad customer service and rude people nowadays, but not here. Once it was my turn I ordered a dozen cupcakes, trying to get as much variety as possible.
Now, I feel like this is pretty important to mention, I didn’t actually try one of those cupcakes until the next evening! However, by the time my family and I tried them; EVERYONE was in aw and wanted to know where I got them! Like I said, having a sweet tooth runs in my family so the fact that we all loved the cupcakes so much and they were made the morning before really says something.
I had the coconut cupcake which is white cake with coconut buttercream and topped with coconut flakes. Coconut is my favorite flavor in almost everything and this cupcake did not disappoint! The cake was moist and had tons of flavor without being overly sweet but that buttercream frosting! I didn’t realize it was buttercream! It was so smooth, airy, and fluffy! Like the cake, it wasn’t overly sweet but had the best coconut flavor that didn’t even hint at being artificial!
I haven’t had much time to go back since then but I definitely will very soon!
I have to try more cupcakes and the pie!

People that know me, know me as Cupcakes. So you can imagine their surprise when I tell them MINI PIES. Yes, you heard me, mini pies are better than cupcakes and I will punch anyone that challenges me in their pie hole.
Sugar Path is in a cozy little corner of downtown Geneva and is easy to get to when I want a sugar fix after stuffing my face with tacos from El Molcajete down the road. We usually get there late so most of their stuff has been sold, but sometimes it’s my lucky day and I get my hands on a sweet sweet mini pie. When I can’t get a mini pie, I get a cupcake, usually one of the filled/​dipped ones and I happily slip into a sugar coma for the rest of the night.
The cupcakes are perfect. I’m one of those weirdos that needs a 2:1 frosting to cake ratio and these please me and my frosting specificity nicely! The only issue is they’re a bit pricey, but they are amazing as an occasional treat.
One day I will get a whole pie all to myself. Maybe for my last meal because I’d probably die after eating it. But at least I’d leave a happy corpse.

We stumbled upon this place a few times ago. It’s right next to the Geneva Ale House and a perfect place to go for a cupcake or a slice of cake. It is the perfect bakery. The inside is cute, comfortable and welcoming. They serve a dozen different cupcakes everyday and you have your choice of 6 – 7 cakes from which to decide. I have only had the cupcakes once (but shared 3 others) and they are perfect. The combination of flavors, soft/​moistness of the cake, and heavenly frosting makes them just fantastic.
I still go back to the first slice of cake I had ever had there. It had 3 different layers: cinnamon, vanilla, and pumpkin. And in between the most wonderful honey vanilla frosting. Every time we go back, I’m secretly hoping this cake will make an appearance.
We’ve only bought a cupcake or 2 here, a slice or 2 of cake, so we’ve never done the fully duty of buying a cake. A slice or cupcake is affordable, but a whole cake is about $ 65.
My only problem is that I wish they were open later. They close at 6 pm on Saturdays. It would be the perfect place to go after dinner. Either way, we will still keep coming back for the occasional slice of cake.

Ok. Looks like this place doesn’t exactly need my glowing review, but I’ve been meaning to review this place since we got married two years ago.
People still talk about our mini cupcakes from our wedding. They were delicious, customized just for us and at a fair price to boot! Their communication was great and they set everything up as promised.
They were also super helfpul in creating some version to surprise my family with to celebrate our anniversary. I love their retail location (that wasn’t there when we first met with them) and wish I lived closer to geneva… well my waistline doesn’t, but the part of my brain that craves delicious things does!

I came to the Sugar Path after seeing a recent episode of Chicago’s Best. I forget what the episode featured (maybe sweets?), but with Pi day coming up, I decided to reserve some pies for the occasion.
On the episode I watched, they featured the «Cowboy Pie,» which is what they are known for. It features whiskey, walnuts, and bittersweet chocolate. Upon first viewing the pie, it looked like a pecan pie with drizzled chocolate. I also decided to order a diner style chocolate cream pie, which was filled with dark chocolate pudding and topped with whipped cream and chocolate shavings (very similar to what Baker’s Square calls their French Silk Pie).
I’ll start with the Diner style chocolate cream. It had a very light and flaky crust, and the pie truly was filled (to the brim) with chocolate filling and whipped cream. Being totally honest, I wasn’t impressed with the flavor of this pie. Sure, it was good (it’s sugar, baby), but I expecting a higher factor of yumminess. Overall, a 3.5 star pie.
As for the Cowboy Pie… it definitely lived up to its hype. I could definitely taste all three elements of the pastry. None of them were overbearing, yet I could taste each one in each bite. The whiskey and walnuts gave me a slight banana flavoring on one bite; quite interesting. As for the bittersweet chocolate, I thought it was a great compliment to the other ingredients. It wasn’t overpowering but it had just the right amount of sweetness (hence the bittersweet) for the pie. I would definitely order this again. A 4.5 dessert in my opinion.
I paid 15.05 for 2 mini 5″ pies. The pies come in 5″ and 9″. The 9 inch varieties of their pies vary in price from $ 22-​$ 27 dollars, while the mini pies vary from $ 5-​$ 7. I believe they feature seasonal pies (Pumpkin in fall, Key Lime in summer, etc) but most of their flavors are a bit different than what you find at a bakery. Some examples: Whiskey Buttermilk, Salty Honey, and Chocolate Orange.
They make everything from scratch, and it’s a cool little store. Their go to seems items are cupcakes and pies, and since I’m not a huge fan of the former, I’ll be back for the unique pie flavors. Recommended for your sweet tooth!

Can I tell you how excited I am that I’ve found a pie shop close by??? I first found this place walking out of my favorite pet store, and had to walk in :) They have an AMAZING assortment of dessert goodies here from pies to cakes and cupcakes! I’ve been on a pie kick since the holidays so I was so excited to see homemade pies.
The first time I came, I picked up a few cupcakes and a slice of their buttermilk pie. The cupcakes were good. The flavors were unique, but unfortunately a little dry. I don’t remember the flavor I had, but it had a whipped cream center, which made it nice and moist. The husband, however had an Oreo one and he said it was a good flavor but was dry.
Now on to the good part. I was excited to see that they had buttermilk pie. I kept hearing about it, but had never tried it. The flavor was delish, the crust was tender but flakey, all around awesome! I’ve since come back for their coconut buttermilk and recently their coconut cream pies. All I can say is yum yum yum ;)
