I ordered wedding cake from here last june 3rd2016 for my parents in law 50th wedding anniversary. On the next day june 4th right on the wedding day. The bottom part of the cake collapsed. Found out that theres a frosting 2 inches layer inside the velvet cake. We dont have a back up cake, never had a chance to take it off from the box. That cake was carefully handled we put it in a fridge to make sure it was perfectly fine before the wedding. Tried to call them and speak up with the chef and they said he was busy and they just get my phone number. But for 4 days no ones callin me back. One thing i realized that this place just wNts to make money but dont careabout the customer. I dont like giving bad reviews but i think its time to let the world know that this place is AWFUL. this is a wonderful place to purchase quality bakery items and a cup of coffee to enjoy them with. I have never been disappointed in the choices and quality of everything I have had there but I would single one out above all the rest and quite possibly the simplest of them all the amazing almond croissant… You just got to try these little tasty treats for yourself then go on to anything else in the display case You will not be disappointed… But due to the popularity of the place it is difficult to sit comfortably at the locale not enough table and chairs for the usual too large a crowd that frequents the place. I would also note at this time it must be a local favorite of all the ladies as for the most part it is patronized mostly be women. Staff is helpful and very considerate today my gift card was not working and cashier stated that they were having issues with the cards… So what did she do? She gave me my order on the house as a consideration for my troubles… Now that is customer service seeing to the needs of the client in my book …Have never been disappointed in the level of service at this facility even in summer time when it appears that they employ some younger, high school possibly, staff… Everyone and everything is enjoyable

This is my first visit to The Cocoa Bean and I must to admit, I’m hooked. I haven’t been too impressed by the bakeries in the area and was a bit skeptical. I decided to pick up dessert for Easter and landed on a chocolate mousse cake. It looked much too good to pass up. As I migrated to the cashier, my eyes were darting over all of the other items, when they landed on a tomato pesto quiche. When I arrived home I quickly popped it in the oven. OMG. It is the most delicious quiche I’ve eaten. In fact, I ate the entire half! Did I just admit that? I can’t wait to try the mouse tomorrow. I highly recommend this place.

Yes yes to the almond croissants! I hate almond flavor but these are AMAZING!!! Great breve latte too! And they actually know how to make one!

We found this bakery on Unilocal based on a specific search for French macarons. Stopped by the afternoon before Valentine’s Day, expecting slim pickings. Not so! This is a full service onsite bakery and chocolatier, and they were continually refreshing the products. Also, the staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. And yes, they make their own macarons in a variety of flavors(the pistachio is exquisite).

I live in Geneva and have been coming here for quite some time. Mostly one or two things and leaving although there is option to sit inside with coffee. Day before thanksgiving 2015 I came in for daily treat and was serving a breakfast thanksgiving so I bought an orange pound cake. One of many things I served. I put it out without tasting trusting it would be wonderful. It was so dry and tasted old. Embarrassed! I went in blk Friday weekend to get another treat and told girl and asked girl at counter if pound cakes tend to be dry inside. I wanted to know because I frequent cocoa bean and would not buy pound cake again if that was the case. I asked her quietly as this is a small place. She answered me loud enough for those around to most likely hear saying, «I don’t make the pound cakes»! In an offensive and defensive manner. Embarrassed once more over pound cake. I just asked for a sweet bakery croissant and left. Once more disappointed when I got home the girl at counter apparently gave me a plain sandwich croissant. I then called later that day hoping they could make both counts right in an attempt to make a long time customer happy. Provide me with a pound cake that is made the way it is suppose to be made and make up for my croissant. The girl that answered the phone, not defensive one, took my # for the owner and said she’d make sure he got my message and call me back never did. I will not go there again!

I ordered the«Sophia» cake from their online menu for my boyfriend’s birthday. The ordering process was smooth, the girl over the phone was friendly and helpful. Note, they do prefer you to provide your credit card at the time of order, but that is completely understandable. The chocolate cake was moist, and the layer of chocolate mousse was to die for. Perfect. Probably the best birthday cake I have ever had! They did a terrific job with the message on the cake, and the fruit on top was fresh and a great touch. I have not tried their other pastries but will be back to try more and can’t wait for the next occasion I can order another cake from them!

I’ve been here over ½ a dozen times and I’ll have to say my favorite thing here is the apricot pistachio tart. I prefer their breakast items(apple /pear tarts, danish, and crossiants) much more than their desserts. The mini desserts and indiv. cakes are beautifully decorated and pricey but don’t taste as good as they look. I tell myself every time to just stick with the bakery items but the items in the glass displays are so pretty, I couldn’t resist and leaves me disappointed every time. Service has been good to very good.

We were at the Geneva Car Show and passed by this place. The presentation was wonderful — mini golden plates decorated with tiny individual cakes. The cakes were topped with hand painted chocolate. I got the chocolate flavor while my daughter got the raspberry-blueberry. The chocolate tasted nice. However I would recommend that you skip the other flavor. The outside was dried and stale. I dont think this is how it is expected to taste like — most likely was an old piece. The girls behind the counter were friendly and helpful, one of them walked around to tell us which flavor was what.

This has got to be one of the most spectacular dessert destinations I’ve ever encountered. Their desserts are as beautiful as they are delicious and their staff is very kind and attentive. If you like desserts, this will be your new favorite place! Side note: we have also had their paninis and have not been disappointed, just make sure you leave room for dessert!

The cakes and coffee are very delicious. The staff is very helpful in describing the content of their deserts. I purchased the minute pastries and chocolates. They are cute and tasteful. I love this place to chill for a coffee brake

Cocoa Bean was the cake vendor for our wedding at Cantigny and was part of our overall package. I made an appointment for a required testing. On the day of, we were on our way when I received a voicemail asking where we were. I called back and the guy I talked to didn’t really have a solution as to what to do or how the time got messed up. It was probably my fault, but I would have liked some kind of guidance instead of me having to figure out what to do. In the end, we decided I could still come in at the time I thought it was. Geneva is faaaaarr, but the town is kinda cute. The bakery itself is very nice. Lots of pastries if you feel like stopping by for a treat. We sat at a table and then met with the woman in charge of our cake. She brought out some samples of what we could get. We really liked the vanilla bean and the chocolate. So decadent. She also showed us some design samples. Once again, I had no idea what I wanted, so I was up for anything. I saw a pretty design with ribbon around the tiers and flowers on top and thought that would be great. She told me the width of ribbon I would need and said I could mail it over once I had it, and that she would be in contact with our florist for the topper. We ended up choosing two flavors/frosting for our cake, which was an additional charge, but its based on how many people you have, so it was only like $ 40 extra. I think it was worth it since you never know what people want. Fast forward to the wedding: our cake was beautiful and we got rave reviews on the taste. I was super nervous, since my best friend said she’s had some pretty bad wedding cake in her experience, but everyone absolutely loved it. They said it was the best cake they ever had. I have to agree that it was sooo good. I had people taking extras! Even though they were the vendor for Cantigny, if you have the option of picking a vendor, I’d highly recommend Cocoa Bean. You will not be disappointed.

A cute little patisserie in Geneva. The cakes were beautiful to look at, but they weren’t that good to eat. The passion fruit cake had a tough crust that was difficult to get around, and the flavors, while there, didn’t blend well to create a top-notch pastry. The same could be said of the chocolate raspberry cake. I’ve had better at French pastry shops dedicated to cakes, but it’s not bad for the area.
