I’m giving this a 5 star review w/​no dealings or knowledge of this place just to offset the kneejerk review of «South C»” who decided to start Unilocal-​ing after this perceived slight and .
First go to WALMART and see how much a spark plug is… about $ 2 – 3 each, so you’d spend $ 10 or so for a 4cylinder car to get a tune up. Now call and check prices on tune-​ups at auto places and they’ll quote you $ 100 – 150 for a tuneup… OR call a place that sells central heating/​air units for your house and a decent size unit will run you $ 1200 – 1500 then call Morris Jenkins and let them quote you a price of $ 8000 – 10 000 to install the same unit.
If you’re lost so far, the message is if YOU don’t know how to DO something, you’re at the mercy of what someone who DOES know what they’re doing will charge you. You can always find parts/​equipment cheaper if you buy them yourself; thats the easy part. But do you know how to wire an AC central unit… tear the back of a dryer board apart and wire a timer… unhook plug wires and set plugs for a car?.. if you don’t, quit bitching. Or at least call a cpl different places to see what service calls run you between places (FYI i can’t wire stuff and had a time go out a few years ago and that price is in the ballpark of what a place should have charged you).
For that matter you could have gone to any big box store and got a new dryer for what u paid to fix this one; appliances anymore unless they are ultra-​high end are like VCRS and microwaves anymore; its cheaper to toss them and buy new than to get them fixed usually.
Finally, and this is me blowing steam in general, for all the positives Unilocal has in letting people know about good experiences/​service etc… this is the bad part; someone like SOUTH C just looking for outlets to blast this repair place for a perceived «screwing» they got on this. All the repair place did was their job and what any other appliance place in town would have done (or any other retail/​handyman place period would have done). NOW SOUTHC balance this out with giving someone u had a good experience with a good review…
