High Xposure Adventures

I’ve used Bobby at Hi Xposure many times over the past 3 years and give him the highest recommendation. I first met Bobby at my gym in Valhalla at an anchor building class, and knew immediately that he was a special guide. There is no one who is more enthusiastic about teaching the sport of climbing than he is. He is patient, encouraging, and of course, an absolute expert in all areas of climbing. Whether you want to go out for a fun day of no pressure climbing with friends or your kids, or you’re looking to push your grade or learn how to lead trad or building toprope anchors, Bobby and his team of guides are the ones to hire.

We had a great first outdoor climbing experience with Bobby! We had our eyes set on learning a ton of stuff and we did. But we didn’t realize how much there was to learn. Bobby did a great job of touching upon the topics we were eager to learn as well as giving us the info we didn’t know we needed to know; All while wrapping it up into a really fun experience. In one day we were able to practice a couple of natural top rope anchors, climb three routes, and get a little hands on setting gear while on the ground. Some of us also learned to rappel and get some experience seconding a leader. Considering our larger party of 4, we were really happy with the ground we covered and the climbs we were able to do. I personally was pleased with Bobby’s ability to gauge our abilities and cater the class to our experience and the fact that it was our first outting on real rock. Wouldn’t hesitate to have Bobby and High Xposure guide us again!

— The Mohonk Preserve charges $ 17pp to climb there. This doesn’t go to High Xposure but just good to know that there are other costs involved

I’ve been coming to these guys for years, and they are a top notch crew. All of the guides are extremely knowledgeable and put safety and fun foremost. The trapps can get extremely crowded, especially on weekends, but Bobby and his crew know all of the hidden gem locations of every grade and level. Could not have had a better day. Whether you are new to traditional climbing, or have been climbing for years, these guys will get you on the rock feeling safe, secure, and having a blast. They know their stuff. Will certainly be returning for more!

My group of 7 had an amazing time today rock climbing with Bobby and Andrew. All of us had limited experience with climbing, and both guides served as excellent teachers. They made sure to take the time to teach us proper techniques and demonstrate when needed. Also, being amateur climbers, we found that both guides were very encouraging and supportive. We also learned how to belay and support one another. Definitely will be returning to High Xposure and highly recommend their fun, expert services! They’ll even take you repelling, which was definitely a highlight.

We were a group of 6 amateur climbers with a bit of climbing experience among us. Bob’s lifelong experience and love for the sport shines through from the moment you arrive. He finds the perfect balance of fun, challenge and teaching while never sacrificing on safety.

Amazing experience for fist time amateur rock climber. Bod, he’s a really well know climber in the New Paltz area. Great personality and very knowledgeable about climbing. He’s very supportive even if you’re not climbing or taking a class with him. Definitely, going back to do rock climbing with Bobby Ferrari.

We took a patrol of 7^th grade Boy Scouts climbing with High Xposure Adventures. Bobby and Andrew are the best. The Boys had a great day, and since Bobby is a climbing merit badge counselor, they got to work on some of the merit badge requirements. I even heard the comment «this was the best day in scouting so far».

After not climbing for 20 years I decided to return to the sport and knew I would need a refresher course. I used High Xposure previously and knew it would be the right choice. My instructor Simeon was knowledgeable, professional and thorough. Safety was a priority! I had a great time and we climbed until I could climb no more! I would highly recommend this group when you want a fantastic day of climbing!

Had an amazing day at the Gunks w/​Simeon of High Xposure. The day exceeded my expectations and I’ll definitely be back. I’ve never climbed before outside of bouldering at the local gym so I really didn’t know what to expect. First off, if you can go during the week, I’d Highly Recommend it. We basically had the Gunks to ourselves as compared to the busy weekends. Take a day off from work… it’s worth it! Simeon was a fantastic guide. He really went over the basics and at all times it was about safety. He knew when to add tips (look at your feet not up) but also let me figure out rock holds on my own. By the end of the day, I felt extremely comfortable belaying, repelling, removing gear and of course, climbing. We warmed up with some smaller 60 foot cliffs before tackling a 3 pitch 200 foot climb. Being someone who doesn’t love heights, I was beyond nervous and never expected to climb that high but felt completely safe. At each step, Simeon would demonstrate how I was secured and made sure I was rested and comfortable before moving on. I went from never climbing to scaling a 200 foot cliff above the tree line… unreal. The view was magnificent and it was a rush and sense of accomplishment unlike anything I’ve felt. To top if off, at the top we looked down on a falcon scaring off a red tail hawk from it’s nest… literally NatGeo in the flesh. I can’t say enough about the day and my guide Simeon. We climbed from 9 am to 5:30 pm and Simeon offered to continue (but my body was saying otherwise). When you spend money on a day trip like this, you really have high expectations. And for me, HIgh Xposure and my guide completely exceeded them. It was an amazing day at the Gunks and I can’t recommend this company enough!

After 4 years of climbing indoors, I brought my 2 teenage daughters up to the Gunks from New Jersey for a weekend of climbing and hiking. The morning of our climb I got a call from the guide company saying that the guide had hurt his back and they had no one else to take us! I called HighXposure and they were able to find a guide who could meet us at the trailhead in 90 minutes. Andrew was fantastic and gave us exactly what we’d hoped for — a great day of climbing. We did 4 climbs, each about 100 feet. They were challenging but Andrew knew the climbs so well he was able to direct us when we got stuck, and we all got to the top of each climb. It was such a thrill to make it up and see the gorgeous view. The perfect day!

My husband and I booked a day of guided climbing in the ‘Gunks with Andrew at High Xposure. Bobby Ferrarri was very helpful handling our booking and answering all of our questions before we arrived. On our scheduled day we arrived at 8:30 and found the High Xposure van right where they said they’d be. Bobby provided us with helmets and other equipment we did not have, introduced us to our guide, then we were off.
Our guide Andrew couldn’t have been better. Not only a truly excellent and knowledgable climbing guide, but really a pleasure to spend time with. Over the course of the day we did several climbs and were even able to get in a lesson on the fundamentals of setting up a top rope.
The price for a full day guide at High Xposure is very reasonable and the service cannot be beat. Highly recommended!

Bobby and his crew of guides are always great. I climb in the gym alot but my first time outdoors was with his group and from the first time I knew these guys are legit! I have climbed with them several times now and have also brought several friends with me and each time I walk away feeling like I had a blast and know more and more about climbing and everyone has raved about them. They will provide gear if you don’t have, and their stuff is all quality gear. They are safe, responsible and highly knowledgeable, which is always of utmost importance when climbing. and they always make sure you have a fun time. They gauge your level of climbing and find a healthy mix of fun, challenge, and safety for you every time. Whenever I go climbing in the gunks, I only choose Bobby Ferrari and his crew!

Had a great day with Scott from High Xposure! He was extremely knowledgeable, encouraging, and patient. He even put up with our lame jokes and puns all day.

Had the best time with Scott from High Xposure. My boyfriend and I are new climbers (he has gone a few times) and Scott was so helpful!
I was pretty much terrified going into it and Scott was great at keeping everything really calm. He read us both very well and helped us get the most out of the day. We went on 4 different climbs (up a few times each climb) and by the end we were completely exhausted! He was great about letting us take breaks, and keep trying after we had tried and fallen a few times. We felt completely safe and confident with his guidance.
He talked us up climbs and as the day went on, taught us how to tie the knots, set up our gear, use certain grips, and got us comfortable with climbing lingo. He started us on easier climbs and gave us more difficult options as the day went on. We felt like we got a complete experience using High Xposure. Will definitely be coming back!

Had a truly great day with Bobby Ferrari of High Xposure. We were a family of 4 including 2 boys, 8 and 10, with no climbing experience and by the end of the day were climbing 80 foot rocks. Bobby is helpful, patient, and kind, which I especially appreciated with young kids. He had the gear we needed and taught us a lot of technique while staying safe the whole time. At the end of the day, we were approached by a group of hikers who asked how many years we had been climbing given that our son was about 30 feet up on the rocks and I was belaying him. They could not believe we just started out that AM. I think we signed them up for a trip right there.
Cannot recommend it enough if you want to do some serious climbing in a fun and safe way.
