This Clinic include TC HERBS shop, which is an unique Integrative Medicine Center with a wider-​angle of specialties. Manager

Dr. Shen is one of the most highly educated professional in the field of Herbal Medicine and Acupuncture. In 1982, he earned his Bachelor’s degree. In 1987 received his Master’s degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). In 1997, he earned his Ph.D. in Medical School in Japan. Dr. Shen has received a postdoctoral fellow from Tokyo University School of Medicine in Japan.

Dr. Shen is among the top in the field of both Western and Oriental Medicine. He has been published in approximately 40 peer-​reviewed scientific papers including the top academic journals in both Western and Oriental Medicine such as: Journal of Molecular Endocrinology, American Journal of Physiology, American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, The Journal of traditional Chinese Medicine. He has also contributed chapters to at least 5 scientific books.

He is often invited to present lectures in many countries, such as Japan, China, Singapore, Canada, Europe, and the United States.

I found Dr. Shen here after a family member was diagnosed w/​a lung disease. After being diagnosed, she had to practically take her oxygen tank everywhere, at times, even use it a home in order to breath. The Dr. prescribed herbal teas and the improvement within weeks was unbelievable! I definitely recommend Dr. Shen, not only is he so welcoming, but very trustworthy.

I really like Dr. Shen. He’s one of those doctors that you know he really enjoys helping and healing people. He’s not out trying to scheme and make a bunch of money off of people either. His consultations are reasonably priced and he’s very knowledgeable. I will continue to pop in to buy some natural products and herbs and occasionally receive his counsel.

I have been suffering severe pollen/​dust allergy associated with migraines and low energy. My allergy is 24/​7, 365 days a year. In the past, I have worked with the best immunologist, neurologist, ENT. I am still maintaining the allergy shots and my routine appointments with all the doctors in line to manage my symptoms.
I ran across to Dr Shen’s practice about two months ago. I gave it a try simply because I just took a CT scan and I was about to run out of options, as well as hope.
Two months later, I have seen significant improvement in all the symptoms, including running nose, sneezing, nasal congestion, facial pain, stiff neck, migraines, back pain, poor sleep and over all energy level. Before seeing Dr Shen, I need ALL the oral/​nasal spray medications to almost the max. dosage to get by the day. I had about 2 to 3 severe migraines attacks every month, whenever the weather is changing. I cannot believe that I almost kick off all the pills, Benadryl, Zertec, Claritin /​D, Allegra, Flonase, Nasonex going and going. I don’t feel my nose being tortured every night when the temperature drops. I can garden in the yard and I don’t care if there is pollen or not. I open my windows twice a day to get the fresh air in. I have a lot more energy and get much more done. I no longer shy from making a commitment to do things with friends because I know I am far away from the allergy level which will trigger the migraines anytime.
Don’t ask me how it works. I seriously don’t know why the combination of a bag of dry leaves, fruit peels and plant seeds work better than all the Rx combined. BTW, the cost of the entire treatment is just a fraction of one Rx which still has patent. Best of all, I am being told that I will not need to maintain the treatment once my body is being «re-​calibrated» to its ideal state. I have not reached that point yet but we will see.

I have had Lupus since 2010. Lupus has so many complications. Life has been very hard for me. I was lead to Dr Shen on Friday, Oct 31, 2014. After sharing my story with Dr Shen, he provided acupuncture and sent me away with special tea for lupus. It is now Sunday (2 DAYS LATER). I have been cleaning my house, cooking food, and constantly moving for the past 4 hours and I feel great. Prior to drinking the tea, I would have been pooped out hours ago. There is no greater gift in this world, greater than good health. THANK YOU DOCTOR SHEN FOR GIVING ME MY LIFE BACK. It has only been two days, and I pray that this wonderful feeling and bodily strength never leaves me. Thanks you Dr shen from the bottom of my heart!!!

I checked my insurance today due to a email. and I noticed that this company has billed my insurance. Wth. The clerk stated on 9÷15÷14 that she was going to check and see if my insurance is acceptable and call me back. Mind you I paid for visual visit and herbs. I never received phone call back and when I returned 7 days later do to not to much improvement, that clerk wasn’t there, and I never received phone call back so I assumed it wasn’t acceptable.
So I paid another $ 15.00; for the same visual visit and I assumed he added another herb to formula. Oh! well I felt better but I still had the symptoms.
I am not upset with doctor I am upset because they billed my insurance company and never called me to notify me that they accept my insurance. Wth did they bill them for. I paid out of pocket for everything.

Shen Clinic is located inside TC Herbs (in the 99 Ranch — Daiso — 85C complex). The store sells a mix of Chinese herbal cures and Western medicines. Most are labeled and targeted for the Chinese community, but all are welcome. The clinic and Dr. Shen are located in the back of the store.
I’d had a nasty-​nasty sinus and head cold for a couple weeks and was desperate for anything to relieve the pressure. Decongestants, antihistamines, pain relievers, nasal sprays, steam treatments, and antibiotics weren’t helping … I was desperate to try anything that would help. Since my wife and I were already shopping nearby, I figured I’d give traditional Chinese medicine a try.
It’s $ 15 for a consultation with Dr. Shen. He asked a series of questions and concerns trying to get a sense of what my trouble and cure might be. After about 5 minutes, he wanted to know if I was willing to try Chinese Herbs and I again told him … ANYTHING if it helps.
So, he scribbled together a «prescription» and handed it to his team at the counter. Twice daily, I was instructed to drink a tea made from a mix of 8 to 12 herbs, roots, and mystery. The 7 large bags of tea ingredients was $ 52.
… What was in it?
No idea. Ginseng was about the only thing I recognized. The rest looked like dry grass, weeds, seeds, and stuff you found after mowing your lawn.
… How’d it taste?
Worse than you can imagine. The smell is strong and permeated the whole house, but fighting the gag reflex twice a day was a serious challenge.
… Did it work?
I don’t know. I feel a little better, but not sure it is because of the herbal tea or just time passing. If anything, the Chinese medicine did make me want to get well because I don’t wanna get sick again and have to drink the bitter stuff.

I first came to Dr. Shen’s clinic after I wrenched my right knee in a bad fall in the Sepulveda Preserve. A trip to the Emergency Room and x-​rays revealed that nothing was broken, that it had been a soft tissue injury. Dr. Shen talked with me, got a thorough medical history and gently led me into one of his treatment rooms, making me comfortable, did acupuncture on the injured area, then massaged the knee. Honest to goodness, I could actually walk without limping after his treatment.
When I moved from West Los Angeles to the San Fernando Valley, I continue to go to Dr. Shen once a month for maintenance. I have never had such amazing results from any other acupuncturist and the relief is immediate.
Dr. Shen is a born healer who has taught acupuncture at UCLA, and I would wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Shen and his friendly, professional staff to anyone who is experiencing pain or discomfort. He is the best of the best, and an excellent herbalist.

I’ve been to TC Herbs and Dr Shen for around 4 years now. His herbs do what they should when taken as he prescribes. His assistants are very helpful for any OTC herbs that are needed for lesser ailments. Dr. Shen is personable and he is very reasonably priced. I have been to other herbalists/​acupuncurists who charge triple what he does. This keeps him busy so I suggest make an appointment. If you go on a weekend get there early.

This Dr does not charge enough!!! How many times can you say that! He is very knowledgable in his trade and he really cares about his patients.
His staff is very friendly and helpful. You can tell they really enjoy working with him. I always leave feeling like they actually care.
I have visited several specialists in his field and have never felt like they listened. I have paid double what he charges with fewer results.
I agree with other reviews when they refer to him as «BRILLIANT». He really is talented. I recommend him all the time to others… and will continue.

Dr. Shen has been able to help me with sinus problems and pain and uncontrollable coughing reducing lymph glans swelling. His horrible tasting medicines have worked when western medicines have failed. I have to say the medicine are bitter and unappealing to the pallet but it takes me a few seconds to drink them down and I am on with my day.
In experimenting 8−25−11 My Brother and I found a counter reaction to the bitter we added a bit of coconut oil and it calmed down the bitter as a cream would do for coffee. You might want to give it a try with bitter medicine. You just might be surprised that the tea actually becomes far more pleasant.

I have been going to Dr. Shen for years now, simply love him! He is very experience in Chinese medicine. He started practice in China, then went to Japan to further study and later became a professor there. I love going to his clinic, always nice and clean with a lot of goodies from green tea to electric herb tea pots. In addition to prescribe herbs, he also does acupuncture. I never tried acupuncture, but have always been getting results after my 5 – 7 days session of herb tea. From what I heard he is very good at helping with women with fertility problem.
Yes, herbal tea don’t taste very good, but they work. The trick is to drink them warm and as fast as you can. Take a candy after. Also, after a while, you get use to it.

What can I say about Dr. Shen? The man is an awesome doctor. As a second year student at Emperor’s College of Traditional Oriental Medicine, I can say that Dr. Shen is BRILLIANT when it comes to prescribing herbal formulas.
He will do an in depth inquiry with you as well as look at your tongue and feel your pulse. You may ask why will Dr Shen want to look at your tongue? The tongue is a very sensitive organ and its appearance can change with many physiological changes in the body. By observing the tongue he can see how our whole body is functioning and able to detect imbalances in different systems in our body.
I have been going to Dr Shen for over two years now. His herbal formulas have helped me fight off throat infections of where antibiotics have failed. Dr Shen’s knowledge of Traditional Chinese Medicine and herbal formulas are second to none. I agree with Narumi… the formulas taste like sewage, but they work!

I had been stressed out because of my stupid job.
I also got stupid flu& cold every other month for last 6 months and I felt really tired and old. I’d had night mare and sleepless nights a lot, and this was all because of my stupid job (and people work there! They suck! REALLY!!)
Anyway, I thought I should try alternative Chinese medicine to see if this would cure my stress!
Dr Shen was really nice. During the session, he checked my tongue. He also listened all my problems and complains.(Sorry Dr. Shen)
He gave me 7 bags of crazy looking herbs to make tea every morning and night.
By the way, the tea tastes absolutely disgusting!
Basically, the tea tastes like hot sewage water.
Can you imagine drinking that???
It’s nasty, but I think this tea is working for me!
I feel little less stressed out and I am able to sleep at night.
The session is $ 15 and herbs for 7 day supply is $ 42.
I went to see Dr Shen twice already and I would probably go back there very soon.
