All Auto Test Only Smog Check Center

New owner is a pretty rude guy. Had a sign up for $ 20 off slog check. When I asked him he said it was $ 90 for the smog check, I said that’s about $ 40 more than the average so I then asked if it was going to be $ 70 with discount, and he said he’d no longer had that deal available. So I told him I was going to another place down the street for $ 45 he then cam back and offered $ 58. Bottom line is when you run a business trust is important. This guy seems like hell charge you whatever he thinks you’ll pay. My advice is call for a different price quote over the phone until you find one that’s reasonable.

This is a straightforward STAR certified smog shop.
I’ve gone to this smog station several times without issue. The owner is friendly and attends to you right away even if there are a couple of cars ahead of you. The last time I visited, he seemed to be training in a new kid.
There’s not much for a waiting area, but smog checks for modern cars are so quick that it’s not much of an issue. (For 2000 and newer, there’s no need for the sniffers or rollers etc.) They’ve always accepted my debit card.
Going back a couple of years, when I had a 1987 Mustang, this station never struggled with the car. They knew that the spout plug had to be unplugged to check the timing. Several other local shops had no clue and would fail the car on timing due to their own ignorance (or inability to look up the timing procedure on all data pro.) This shop has never done anything stupid or incompetent to any of my cars, which I very much appreciate.
If you do have a car that has questionable engine modifications, I suggest going somewhere else. Albert seems to like to keep it simple and is pretty pessimistic about modified cars. It’s his business and livelihood, so you can’t blame him for covering himself.

Do not take your car here. The guy on the phone was not very nice.

Called first to check price and was told about cash special. Being a woman, I hate handling car stuff. But Albert was wonderful. I will be talking all of our family cars here. Only took 15 minutes.

I brought in my 1997 Ford Mustang for a smog test and was quoted $ 78.00 including the certificate. The banner out front said $ 20.00 off so I’d be charged $ 58.00. The posted price inside was $ 59.75 for cars plus $ 8.25 for the certificate with a $ 20.00 off banner in front it should’ve cost me $ 48.00. When i asked about the discrepancy and we added it up together and still insisted that $ 58.00 was correct and mentioned something about a newer machine. I think he caught his mistake because he walked over to the posted prices and starred at them for a minute when I left. Feel free to contact me and make this right if you feel so.

This is a smog test site. Period. You get what you pay for. I drove right up, the test was done, passed! and paid. He is super convenient due to proximity of my home. I have been coming here for years! Sometimes he is busy, and sometimes not. In all honesty, you are paying for the necessary service to be performed. You are not paying for bedside manner although he has always been pleasant to me. I do recommend him as I like to support local business as much as I can. Give him a try!

I would not recommend this place. The service is inconsistent. My first vist was for my wife’s vehicle and it was ok. So of course I thought I can safely take my vehicle back. Well I didnt pass (no fault of the tech… or maybe). I paid by credit card, then was told that my follow up visit could only be paid by cash. What the fuck is that all about. That to me is a red flag. My question to this shop, what are you hiding and sneaking behind your inconsistent practices that should have more customers asking the same question. I have since went to another chain and passed with flying colors and was told this was not a proper business practice. Take heed to this warning people.

Guy is rude and probably doing something illegal. He said that he couldn’t do my smog check after 3:30 (even though I had been waiting since 3) because he had to turn off the equipment, but he could do it for cash? WTF. He was charging around $ 50 for cars and $ 70 for RVs. Never going here again! Neither should you! His sign says $ 20 off? Off what?

We go in for a smog check, the guy quotes $ 58, but says he’ll knock $ 20 off. He gets started and tells us it’s $ 58, normally $ 78, but he’ll knock $ 20 off that price… Ridiculous! There are places on line that advertise $ 28 + $ 10 for an older car. We would never have gone here. This guy is not honest AT ALL!!! Beware!!!

Drove in with my friends ford for a smog. I normally not In the area but I had to get a smog for my friend that lived around here. Smog was fast service was good. The smog Tec Albert was very friendly. I had No problems in and out. I recommend this place

I decided to give this place a try since it was the closest to my house and I just needed to get my DMV smog test done at a STAR certified station.
Albert was working on another car but greeted me immediately. He was friendly and professional. I told him I needed a smog test done and he informed me of the cost after asking for my car’s year, make, and model.
It was only supposed to take 15 minutes, but for some reason the test was aborted near the end (my car is an ’03 nissan SUV and has always given me smog issues). He let me know what was going on and that he had to re-​run the test since it was aborted. It passed the second time, just barely!
It was $ 48.20 for the smog and certificate. I gladly paid him. If you don’t pass, he charges $ 39 (the price of the smog minus the certificate since you didn’t pass).
He also let me know that if I ever needed any auto advice, I could always come by and ask. I thought that was really nice of him. Will definitely be coming back for my smogs in the future.
Also, the auto shop that shares the same space has coupons for a 5-​quart oil change with tire rotation for $ 19! They’re in the waiting room desk so I was given a couple. I drive an SUV, and they only charge $ 2 extra. I’ll be due for an oil change in a bit and will definitely bring all my cars here in the future.

I was going to go here for a Smog Test but after reading Craig B’s comment, I decided not to.
However, I was in the market for a car wash, given they do those here as well. Alex T wrote that they detail cars for $ 4.99 (though, looking back now, it does say 2009). Anyways, assuming the price was still the same, I went to see how much a car wash was. He told me $ 15.00 and I decided to pass (given the place I usually go to is WAY less and have always done a great job).
Everything about this car wash is completely hand done (no big car wash they put it through, no 3 guys working on your car — just water bottles, soap, and towels). The guy decided to make me a deal because I told him why I wasn’t at my usual car wash, but I still decided to pass.
Just wanted to write a Unilocal review to inform people of the current car wash price and the conditions of the car wash.

What pisses me off is I’ve been here before. Got a bit of rude service but whatever.
Now I come back in a different vehicle and all hell breaks loose. Not really, but kind of.
My truck has its suspension done and all that crap for the desert. I know smog places are notorious for turning trucks like mine away without a second thought. But not here, not now right? I mean my truck isn’t even that bad!

I pull in and the guy pops his head out of the garage and gives me a dirty look.

So I park and stand there and just wait for him to finish up with his current customer. He walks up and says «so whats modified»
Are you kidding me? Not a «hey hows it going» or «howdy there partner» or «looking to smog this thing eh?»
As soon as he says this I knew it was going to be a hassle. He pops the hood and has a look and just kinda groans and is like «what year is this» to which I reply «its a 92 with the 4.0 in it» and he says «put a lot of money into an old thing like this eh?»
…dude, really? Do you not have common courtesy skills or something? I’m about to give you money and you’re talking shit on my truck?
Anyway, I blew that off and followed him to the back of the truck, where a stock exhaust would be located, except mine isn’t there, it ends under the truck where the bed meets the cab. No big deal right?
Wrong again.
He mutters something about it not reaching and then says «I can’t do this. The exhaust is too far away and the fumes will fill my garage and kill me you know? It’ll kill me»
I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. This guy refused to touch my truck because the fumes would fill his garage like some form of mustard gas and kill him. Wow. Just… wow. He said it was because «he didn’t have windows or a garage that opened on both sides»
So I left, went to a place on Beach Blvd in-​between chapman and lampson and got it done (and passed) for $ 18 less.
Save some money and patience and just go somewhere else.

Albert is the best! Never been there for over 15 minutes for my smog check. Has a deal now with $ 20 off your check. Have brought all my family cars here. A++++

Have heard from my carpooler that Albert at AAT did a good job on his truck. So I took the car to Albert for Smog Check. He was done in 15-​minutes. Price was very fair and work was done on-​time. Will go again for SC. Recommended by TC!

Vehicle needed a smog check. Went here because my co-​worker recommended it and the service was impressive. Drove in to do my smog check and it took no more than 15 minutes. Albert (the smog check dude) also told me that my wheels needed some rotating. :X (I know, I know!)
Cost for a smog check was normally $ 68 dollars, but they had a grand opening special which reduced my smog check cost to $ 48! Awesome!
They also have auto detailing for $ 4.99! RIDICULOUS! and… WHATTADEAL!
I’m never going over to the Tuesday special down the street for $ 8.99 again! :P
