I was in town visiting family and was craving a gyro. I look up on Unilocal and found this place and decided to give it a try with my parents. We all got the gyro wrap and we shared the almond and walnut baklava. The gyro was just ok. The meat was sliced super thin and there wasn’t that much on the wrap. It also seemed to be a bit dry. It needed more sauce. The baklava was good but I don’t eat it that often so I can’t compare it to anything. I have tried many different gyros and this wasn’t as good as others I’ve had. It took awhile to get our food too.

My boyfriend and I go to Gyro Plus weekly. We love it and always get the gyro and fries. The place has an authentic feel and great baklava!

Gyro Plus is a perfect four because it has great food but is only slightly hampered but ambivalent service and high prices. However, ignoring the owner, this is a great place to get a gyro combo.

I’ve lived in vicinity of Gainesville for 33 years, & I love it… The VERY best Greek food in Gville, no doubt about it. From there extensive delish bakalavah array, that’s to die for – to there homemade falafels, & homemade hand squeezed grapefruit juice, & yummy smoothies – Delish, & # 1!(I only gave it 4 stars instead of 5, bc they could be a little kinder & friendlier with their customers. Not that they’re awful, they’re not, they just could stand to smile & interact more & in a friendly manner, than they tend o do. That’s my ONLY complaint. Besides that PERFECT&BEST Greek food in town! !!(But honestly, they def lose a star, bc they really need to work on friendliness & good manners.)

Have been to many Greek restaurants thru the years and have had gyros at some of the best. This place would not qualify. The gyro meat was bland and not carved from a rotisserie as it should be and arrived cool. The portion was small. They did have good hot fries thus the 1 star rating

A few of my favorite things: Turkish Coffee! — first place I have ever tried it and I am hooked. Falafel — If I had unlimited falafels, I’d probably eat them all. Beef Gyro — savory, tender and comes with a very good tzatziki sauce. The staff/owner are pretty cool people too.

Best Gyro in town. I like their Falafel sandwich. The chicken gyro aka shawarma is great. Don’t forget to try their Baklava. Owners are friendly

I stopped in here because I was walking down the street and was hungry. Simple enough. Imagine my surprise when I find a bunch of vegan-friendly options. I guess I’m not used to having so many items to choose from so it took me a while to narrow it down. I decided on the vegan grape leaf wrap and it did not disappoint. It was actually so good that halfway through I was wondering if I should get another one to go for later. It was so good that I didn’t actually think it was non-dairy because it was so creamy. It kind of fell apart toward the end, but I didn’t mind. I also had a side of fries, which were good, but I guess I didn’t find them so omg great like everyone else. I also had a piece of almond baklava and maybe I just haven’t had moist baklava before, but the one from here tasted like eating pure liquid sugar. I’m not sure how I feel about that, but I’m not gonna go running here for another one. The service was efficient and not very warm, but they seemed to do a pretty good job working through the long line with just two dudes. I would go back here for that wrap alone.

I crave this food constantly. I’ve been coming here for over 10 years now and I love how the food really hasn’t changed much. To be honest, not much about this place has changed from the first time in was introduced to it. My go-to dish is the veggie grape leaves platter. I order it with extra rice, pickles and tomatoes +an additional pita. It’s so much food and so good! It ends up lasting me a few days but I keep going back to it for bites every few hours when it’s in the fridge. That’s how good it is. Their hummus is probably some of the best hummus I’ve had. It’s in my top 5 and my number 1 for Gainesville. The grape leaves are usually very tender and are plump and tender. I love to make my own little mini pita sandwich bites by adding a little rice, hummus, tomato, lettuce, grape leave, pickle and tabbouleh, all of which comes with the platter! Oh! I almost forgot about the sauces! Also delicious but almost not even needed. The tahini is yum!!! They also serve up some really awesome fries. They are always piping hot, crunchy, perfectly salty and fresh. Fresh lemonade is never bad either. I’m dying for one right now! If you smoke hookah or love little treats they have stuff like Turkish candies sometimes and coals(kinda a little grocery area on the side. I haven’t checked out what they stock recently but I’ve picked up some great stuff in the past that I really enjoyed :) I’m so glad this place is still in business. A lot of middle eastern/Mediterranean places in Gainesville have either gone way downhill or out of business over the past years so thank you Gyro Plus for continuing to serve delicious food! I will be stopping by soon to get my fix:)

Beef gyro was very good and huge amount of food. Didn’t love the falafel though, unfortunately. Best falafel I’ve had in Gainesville was from Farah’s but they closed up shop. I work near here and I’ll be back for another gyro!

Excellent food here! Such bright, vibrant flavors! Falefel made with fava beans, tzatziki sauce that makes you want to dip more! Creamy, amazing hummus! So much flavor!!! I come here every time I come back to visit Gainesville!!!

This place, for me, is the top! I love the food here, I love that half of the menu is vegan and ALL the Baklava is vegan. I have been through almost half of the vegans selections and have not been disappointed. My favorite though is there babbaganough(spelling). It’s amazing! And I am stoked you can buy some items there. Especially to make my own dolmas!!! Love it!

Every time I go, I am reminded of how delicious the food is. While it isn’t anything unique, it’s consistency and traditional foods win me every time. During busier times, there might be a wait, but for not too long. While not the cheapest option in town, it can most definitely get you full without blowing your budget. Always get the grape leaves.

This place is amazing. Great food for low prices. I highly recommend the Falafel sandwich. They also offer a variety of baklava, many flavors I have never tried before.

It was only okay. We ordered the gyro platters with salad, humus, etc. I ordered extra pita bread and it was all tasty but kind of skimpy on the meat. If I were to go back, I’d save a few bucks and just order the sandwich platter with fries versus the dinner platter.

Such. Great. Food. And pleasant service. Gyro Plus has bold Mediterranean flavors that are made fresh to order. It takes a little while to get your food if there’s a queue(10 – 15 minutes), but it is so worth the wait. I love the falafel hummus vegan pita. They have a pretty wide selection of Mediterranean foods with generous portions. I recommend this place to everyone!

The falafel here falls short, but the sides come to the rescue. Their baba ghanoush is smokey and intense, the hummus is a revelation to anyone who is used to store bought stand-ins, and the flatbread is fluffy and tasty. However, I come here for falafel with friends sometimes, always order a falafel sandwich, and am always left wanting more out of the falafel itself. The hummus and tahini sauce? Bomb. The flatbread? Warm and fluffy. But the overall toned down approach to the flavors in the Falafel and sandwich itself earns just a passing grade. Do yourself a favor and order bread, hummus, baba ghanoush, and lentil soup or tabbouleh if you want to experience memorable flavors here. No bad food here, just a victim of westernized tastes.

I came here for lunch one afternoon and this place is great. It is inexpensive and the service was quick. I needed to catch a plane and I was looking for somewhere fast. A friend of mine has suggested a Carribean place at the time but it was closed and looked a bit dodgy. So we went a couple units down to this place, where there were actually people sitting down & eating! We felt that was a great sign! We ordered the falafel hummus vegan pita, which was quite delicious! It was definitely a great pre-boarding lunch. I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for some good gyros!
