Stopped in for a late lunch one day and were well pleased. The hamburgers were delicious as was the potato salad and chips. Service was average and the atmosphere is pleasant. We will be back for more of their great food!

The environment was pretty cool with the whole Irish cobblestone theme. The food was ok, but not a whole lot of selection. We left before 9 so we didn’t experience the nightlife there. Probably would only go back to get a few drinks and not really eat there.

Great local tap beer selection from Back Forty and Blue Pants breweries. Had the potato skins and they were an interesting combination of ingredients including a bacon jam, whiskey infused cheese and scallions. Service at the bar was great and friendly with bartender Abby. Great new spot in downtown Gadsden.

Harp and Clover is a great restaurant and bar. They have everything from soups, salads, to sandwiches. My personal favorite is the Reuben, be sure to get extra Russian sauce on the side. Staff: The restaurant staff are very friendly, professional, and helpful. If you haven’t been there before, don’t be afraid to ask for their favorite thing in the menu. Like all restaurants it can get overwhelmingly busy, do not expect your waitress/waiter to know exactly when you need something, they can’t read minds, they do their best to serve you. It’s pretty casual so if you need something just call and get their attention. Food: I have eaten at Harp and Clover 5 times since they have opened which hasn’t been very long ago, and I have tried their Reuben, all the way to the Irish Stew/Soup. Everything that I received was excellent the chef they have there knows his stuff! Price: This is where it will get you! The prices are OUTSTANDING for the quality and amount of food you get. No single dinner or lunch is more than $ 9.99(except one item I believe) on the menu. Then you order a drink for the average cost anywhere else. When I go with another person the average cost after tip runs about $ 27 – 29. Which is not bad at all for the quality of food, customer service, and the atmosphere around you. Harp and Clover is definitely my go to restaurant and gets 5⁄5 stars from me!

Back in town visiting friends and family, and someone mentioned the new Irish Pub. Of course I had to try it, and I was NOT disappointed! Décor was simple and not over the top with Irish antics. A harp handing above the bar, a giant lit-up clover on another wall. Just a nice, comfy little place. I was expecting it to be primarily a bar that sold some food. Instead it’s primarily a restaurant with a bar. Not much on tap, just some of the local Back 40 stuff, and a few other beers in bottles and cans. They said they have a nice selection of wine, but I didn’t check those out and opted to stick with the brews instead. The menu was small, but good variety. They have breakfast options and a coffee bar for the early birds, and lots of normal lunch/dinner selections for the night owls. I was STARVING so everything sounded good and I was having a hard time deciding, so I started with a cup of Irish stew to appease my rumbling stomach while I continued to stare at the menu. Lamb, beef, carrots, potatoes. Mmmm! Still had issues deciding what sounded best(Shepherd’s Pie, Banger’s and Mash, Salads, Sandwiches, Burgers) because it all sounded delish. but finally decided to keep it simple and went with a burger. Don’t remember the name, but it was topped with goat cheese and pepper jelly.. and it was Ahhmazing! Mum had one topped with bacon jam and whiskey infused cheddar cheese. Also delish! Anything with goat cheese and/or bacon is usually right up my alley! Simple side of potato chips on the side. Stew, burger, chips. I was stuffed. otherwise I would’ve had to try the raspberry white chocolate bread pudding!

Harp & Clover is amazing! It is easily the best place to eat in the area. The food is fresh, delicious, and presented with quality. Lots of local ingredients are showcased on this menu, along with a good variety of options at a very fair price point. The atmosphere at night is superb & quaint, with the antique lights really showing the space at its best. I haven’t had the chance to try everything on the menu yet, but give me time. I can say that the Reuben, the Rachel, the Bangers & Mash, the Portobello Stack Salad, and the bread pudding are all sublime. I never knew a Reuben sandwich could be so amazing, rich but not heavy, so savory and yet so clean on the palette. The stacked salad is delightful and such a wonderfully healthy, yet delicious, option. Even in the dead of winter the tomatoes had so much flavor, and the whimsical addition of peas and goat cheese is unexpected yet perfect. The slaw on the Rachel is to die for, light yet so flavorful, just the right touch of sweetness. The bread pudding is everything that bread pudding should be, and nothing that it shouldn’t. The raspberry, white chocolate and walnut option was so full of raspberries, with just the right amount of sweetness balanced against the walnuts, and a lovely touch of caramel sauce and freshly whipped cream. Try this place and you’ll be happy that you did!!!
