Do not use this company. In 2006 we purchased over $ 12,000 worth of windows. We had a home inspection and several windows had breaks in the duel pane seal. According to the paperwork and their website — IWC windows have a lifetime warranty. NOT TRUE. The company filed bankruptcy in 2011 shut down and reopened business in ⁸⁄₂₀₁₁. All windows installed prior to Aug 2011 are NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY by IWC because of new ownership. Buyer Beware!!! The customer service rep graciously offered to refer me to window installers in my area that I can PAY to have the windows replaced. So frustrating and ridiculous.

IWC entered into Bankruptcy in 2011 and all former warranties were voided. The new Owner purchased the assets, but not the liabilities. We’re not able to honor warranties prior to the Bankruptcy, but hopefully I can help you out somehow. I can refer you to an IWC Dealer in your area to assist you with the glass replacement if you’d like, unfortunately you’ll need to pay for their services to de-​glaze and re-​glaze the window, in addition to the cost of the glass. I can reduce the cost of the glass to our Dealer to minimize your costs.

From what I’ve seen so far, the windows are quality. I also saw these windows recently in an apartment complex as my girlfriend and I were looking around for a new apartment for her and the manager there (a place in Rancho Paolo Verdes) said she has been using IWC her entire time working with the apartment complex and spoke of them highly. I think it’s like the other reviewer says, an angry customer tells everyone but content customers don’t.
On a side note, liability isn’t passed down when a company is sold to a new owner. If you bought a business and then a customer came in and said you owe them for what the previous owner did, we’d all tell them to move along. Whatever bad business practice the previous owners had probably caused the place to go bankrupt in the first place.
Finally I don’t trust reviews from two separate people that contain the same information word for word. «slide of hand»? It’s sleight of hand. I call fake on that. Probably some competitors who are giving bogus reviews.

Horrible company. Stay far away! My windows aren’t even close to 10 years and there is manufacture defects and they hire/​operate with the same level of installers. Stay far from this company. On the Bankruptcy issue; that should not be the problem of the customer. If you buy a company and keep the name and appearance it’s the same service, then you should stand up and back it. If not then simply change the name to something new. I’ll respect that scam way more. That’s all IWC is. A company ready to scam you from your money. I bet less than 5 years from now they will file bankrupt again and do it all over again. If I knew how a hclass action suit is started I would be doing it. I will be researching it that’s for sure. I’m tired of companies like this!

Same story — house full of IWC windows with «lifetime warranty.» Several windows fogged after a couple years and «new» IWC won’t honor warranty, despite mascarading as the old/​same company with a «50 year history.»

I too have a home full of International windows. I selected International because they offered double-​paned black grid windows, which I love at a reasonable price.
I too have experienced repeated fogging in my front window. I’ve been told this is a broken seal. International replaced the window after considerable effort on our part, including a trip to their corporate office. Then some years later the same window failed again. International was in the process of replacing it, when they closed their doors. We never were able to get an installation date scheduled. So today we have a front window that is defective and the new International Window company will not cover the original lifetime warranty. So very disappointing.
We are in the process of having the window replaced with a brand that has been around for many years and has an excellent reputation. Looking back, I wish I had spent a little more money and gone with another window company.

New Co, operating under the same name as Old Co is refusing to honor Old Co’s «Lifetime Warranty» on our windows that are now fogging.
I was told the Old Co went bankrupt and someone purchased the assets of Old Co but not the «Lifetime Warranty» liability. Is this legal or just a ‘slide of hand?’ That is the question.
Through this magic process, allegedly in 2011, New Co is claiming they are not responsible for Lifetime Warranties prior to the date of this transaction. So; our «Lifetime Warranty» issued by Old Co with the same name International Window Corporation: «More than 50 years ago, International Window Corporation began as an aluminum window manufacturer specializing in Jalousie-​style windows. Sounds like the same company, even the same logo of a stylized IWC that issued our warranty.
There is no mention of this alleged transaction on their website.

Purchased windows from IWC, the «Crown» model. Almost half of the windows are failing. The gas in the windows is fogging and will require replacement. The Lifetime Warranty in hand is bunk. Company filed for bankruptcy, and now provided no liabiltiy for any windows installed prior to November 2011. Do not let this comfort you if you are considering purchasing these windows. Yes, they offer a lifetime warranty with their current window installations, but how long will this last. Appears all they have to do is bankrupt themself and sell off the assets. Then reopen with a new owner who will not honor their warranty. BUYER BEWARE… STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. YOUR BETTER OFF GOING TO HOME DEPOT — A COMPANY THAT HAS A VERY GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE RECORD.

Same as previous complaints in that the new owners are not honoring any previous commitments of the bankrupted company (which is perhaps understandable?). But these new people seem particularly untrustworthy. They lied to about sending me replacement parts which they never did (twice!) — and they say they don’t ’”keep records of when they send items out”. They have no accountability, and simply don’t care. Deal with them at your own risk…

I WOULD GIVE LESS THAN ONE STAR IF POSSIBLE!!! We too remodeled our home and bought IWC windows. We bought the windows because they came with a Lifetime Warranty… well they have filled for bankruptcy and will no longer honor warranty. We tried to get warranty work done prior to the bankruptcy and never got return calls! How can a company still be in business and NOT honor the warranty??? What a joke… BUYER BEWARE IF YOU ARE LOOKING INTO BUYING ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY…
