History
Established in 1967.
As the founding partner of Fogg, Maxwell, Lanier & Remington, Dr. Gary Fogg joined Dr. Snow after completing his residency in ophthalmology from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. Accordingly, Dr. Snow and Dr. Fogg worked hard to build a positive and lasting reputation in the Fresno Community.
In 1973 Dr. Gary Fogg moved his practice further north ~ near the corner of First and Dakota. As a result of a growing practice, Dr. Fogg was joined by Dr. Andrew Maxwell in 1980.
The California Eye Institute ~ the building where Dr. Fogg and his team currently reside ~ was established in 1996. Additionally, Dr. Andrea Lanier ~ a pediatric ophthalmologist ~ joined the practice at the same time.
In 1995, Dr. Steven Fogg completed his training in St. Louis and joined Fogg, Maxwell, & Lanier EyeCare. Dr. Fogg gradually took over his father’s practice until his retirement in 2010. Dr. Steven Fogg continues the tradition of expert eye care and cataract surgery.

Dr. Fogg grew up in Fresno and worked most of his early years side-by-side with his father ~ who is also a cataract surgeon. He trained at BYU as a mechanical engineer before entering medical school at the University of Utah.
As a medical student he developed computer programs for ophthalmology training. Dr. Fogg worked at the Fresno VA hopital as an intern before he completed his ophthlalmology training in St. Louis, Missouri.
He is a devoted father, husband, and religious man who has dedicated his life to serving his his community by providing the highest quality of cataract surgery available anywhere in the world. He has surrounded himself with a dedicated and loyal staff who share his vision of providing the best possible care.
Dr. Fogg has performed well over 10,000 cataract surgeries over the past 20 years and continues to be one of busiest surgeons in the country.
When not working as a cataract surgeon, Dr. Fogg spends time caring for animals at Fogg Ranch.
