We went on a Saturday afternoon around 3pm and was seated in the room with a fireplace. It was very cozy and warm, especially because it was sprinkling outside. Our server, Taylor, was great. Kudos! We we’re spontaneous and started with the special scallop and bacon corn chowder. That was paired with garlic bread. Delicious! For our entrees we ordered a bacon and avocado sandwich + crumbled bleu cheese and the grilled Atlantic Salmon. The salmon was ok, but the sandwich was delicious! For our dessert we were going to try the crepes but our waiter convinced us to try the mud pie instead and I do not regret it at all! It was rich in flavor. I want to go back and order that dessert! All in all, this was the best service I’ve had at Mimi’s. I’ll be going back because I’m addicted to their carrot bread and now their mud pie. ;) Ps: their $ 5 sangria was good too.

Favorite place for many different choices of food. Love the quiche, French toast and the mimosas! At busy times you can wait 45 minutes for a table but you can almost always eat on the patio with no waiting.

We had a wonderful visit to this Mimi’s. The Management and our waitress, Tiffany were superb. I have extreme food allergies and Tiffany, the Manager and the chef all made sure of the ingredients in my food so I didn’t die. Super happy with my visit. And a special thanks to Tiffany for her help.

I tried Mimis, for the first time. The waitress was great, my Cordon Blue, sandwich cold, fries cold, salad soaked. The manager delivered my lunch, the waitress came back to my table and was surprised the food was delivered so fast as was I. I expressed my disappointment, and told her the manager should have known better, to deliver a product that had been sitting for sometime.

Went to Mimi’s yesterday for breakfast shortly after they opened at 7 am and I unfortunately ordered the quiche. It wasn’t fresh as I expected it to be that early in the morning. It was popped out of the little pie tin and I’m certain that it was microwaved! It was horrible in appearance, taste and texture but it was hot. If the quiche wasn’t ready, I should have been advised and I would have ordered something else.(Since they had leftover quiche on hand, I am guessing that I wasn’t the first customer who was served leftover quiche at full price). We had a window seat and saw dust bunnies on window sills and window blinds. One seat in one booth and red duct(?) tape where one’s derrière would likely be placed. One chair had no stuffing left so the seat covering was baggy and bubbled up. There was something(paper or fabric?) hanging down six inches from the bottom of the chair too. Since this is a chain/franchise, I was surprised that this location is not up to corporate standards.

Every time I go to a Mimi’s I remember why I shouldn’t. The food is meh, but we had been traveling and my husband, who is diabetic, needed some real food. What we ordered was just ok, Mine was not very good and I give kudos to the staff for trying to make it right. What I WAS disturbed enough to write about was the exchange I had with the hostess. Seeing that both my husband and I walk with canes, she hurried to open the door for us. THEN she said«it must be hard getting old» OLD? I’m in my late 50’s and my husband is in he late 40’s and while that may seem old to the later teen early twenty-something, I felt she was a wee bit judgmental and her comment was insensitive. I believe our disabilities made her uncomfortable. Some one should remind her that what you SAY to an exiting patron you do not know is «Thank you for coming. Hope to see you again soon»

Was one of the fewer breakfast places open in the mornings. At first I was upset at the long wait but then a manager came over and gave us a open seat. The muffins were amazing, and the omlette was fuego. They were really fast with bringing us our food. If your out in Fresno def recommend this place

It’s a little pricy but very very good for breakfast our waitress was very nice and made sure that we were well taken care of. I had the lemon poppy pancakes. They were delicious! But I really wish they had like a lemon sauce on them. Over all it was great.

I’ve been to Mimi’s Café quite a lot and most of the time it’s a pleasant experience that isn’t to say it’s not flawed. I like the design of the building and there food is ok but I find problems with some of the choices. The chicken fingers are not pleasant. But the absolute worst thing is the atrocity that I experienced when the appetizer plates that I was supposed to eat off of were wet and had the crumbs of a previous meal on them. This is unacceptable and if I had not sent it back I could have been eating crumbs or traces of saliva from a random person. That is inexcusable. Mimi’s Café has gone down in the ranks in my book.

This popular place has wonderful bread and muffins that you must butter with margarine, yes margarine. They have a new layered birthday cake, that I suggest you pass on. It tasted like chemicals. It wasn’t even sweet. I also had the new half chicken. This was good. Potatoes not so much, but the chicken was worth ordering the dish

I really enjoyed this place. I came with my bf and mom and had the egg and spinach crepes add turkey sausage. My mom had the Quiche Florentine(Delicious! Highly recommend.) The food was great and came out without much wait and the staff was friendly. Also the croissants are very good!

I’ve been to many-a-Mimi’s café around California and other states and I must say this one was rather nice – I came away surprised about a few things. The thing that struck me at first was the lack of a wait and no crowds; a nice bonus on a hot day. It was also relieving to have a good waiter(Keith) who seemed generally knowledgeable about the menu and food in general – he also was great at keeping the bread coming :) The third thing that struck me was the prices; they were low compared to other restaurants(for what one ‘gets’). Other popular chains’ prices –I’m looking at you Cheesecake Factory and Olive Garden– have creeped up over the years. It’s refreshing to see you can eat well for a good price. Finally, the food was very tasty. We got the usual comfort staples of Turkey dinner(which was honestly a bit dry) and french pot roast which were good. I’ll return to this location for sure.

Went here yesterday but wasn’t impressed. There was nothing on the menu that I wanted. They served Americana food with an attempt at being French. Many chicken dishes. French music playing… which was enjoyable. Only 3 small groups there but we had to wait before we got seated; no one to greet us at the door. This is one notch above Dennys but if you’re on a budget you might as well go to Dennys. I had the steak and fries. It wasn’t bad but nothing to rave about. We also ordered chicken pot pie, grilled salmon, and a hamburger plain; no one raved about their food. I have to say the fries weren’t good. They look over fried and shriveled; see pic. We won’t be going back but it’s just because the food they serve was very unexciting. If you like pot pie, grilled chicken, burgers, etc… doesn’t hurt to try it once.

Small selections, good service. We waited quite long for our food to get served, but it was okay. The breakfast selection is small. I had their Egg Salmon Benidict, and it was good as I expected. It comes with potatoes on the side, which i think were excellent. It was very well seasoned. It almost tasted like potato chips, except it was thick and soft, instead of thin and crispy. If there is something I would come back here for, it’s their potatoes.

I had the Andouille and peppers omelette and the taste was bland. Not to mention, half way through the meal I was chewing on a piece of plastic. I brought it to the attention of our server and came back with the excuse that it was the«casing» of the sausage. Totally false, it was clearly plastic. Not to mention, I didn’t get an apology or an offer to adjust the price of the meal. Wasn’t looking for a free meal, just the courtesy of the manager expressing an apology. Bad customer service and the quality of food had declined dramatically.

Our service was great! We came on Mother’s Day evening and sat outside in the patio area. The weather was perfect, and the restaurant wasn’t too busy. Thank you to Clare for taking care of us all and accommodating my dietary needs! Clare was so sweet and attentive the entire time. She was very knowledgable about the menu and was very helpful at making sure that a meal could be modified for me(no meat, no dairy). Which is not easy considering there are no options on the menu that don’t include on or the other. This is the first time I’ve visited a chain restaurant that doesn’t naturally serve vegetarian options, and ended up leaving feeling satisfied and confident in visiting again! She constantly checked in on us to make sure we were ok. Everyone enjoyed their meal, and there wasn’t a single thing we would have changed!

First off, the cheesy chalet architecture made us smile. There’s a place for that in today’s overly-serious, unfriendly world. Also, the staff couldn’t have been friendlier. What a nice bunch! We were driving thru Fresno and the place was a madhouse on a Friday night so we just called in a pick-up order. French dip, chicken strips, burger. Three hungry souls on a road trip… but most of the food didn’t get eaten. The burger was apparently unpalatable, as were the chicken strips. I ended up sharing my french dip, which had a weird, processed beef. Like something from an Oscar Meyer deli package. It wasn’t super horrible but it sure wasn’t what you would expect on a restaurant sandwich. We ate it. Final gripe: it’s completely weird that they would call their food«French inspired.» There’s absolutely nothing French about it. The French would HATE this place.

I repeat, the service at this Mimi’s continues to be phenomenal which I find so atypical for medium priced chain restaurants. Keep doing what what you’re doing, Mimi. Tip: look online for coupons and show them on your phone. The manager gladly accepted the smart phone version.

I visited Mimi’s after 9PM. I was alone — Cindy was recovering from surgery at Fresno Heart & Surgical Hospital… I walked in at 9:15 and didn’t notice hours on the door, so I wasn’t sure if they were still open or how late. As I walked in, the hostess was walking another couple around the corner to be seated — but I didn’t want to walk in at 9:15 to a place that closes at 9:30 and be «that guy» so I hesitated. A few moments later, the manager Eric(maybe Erik?) saw me standing in the lobby perusing the menu and came right over to seat me. I wanted to be sure they would be open long enough, and he said, «Absolutely, we’re here til ten.» He gave me my pick of seats as it wasn’t very crowded, and I chose a booth by the bar near the TV so I wouldn’t be lonely. The menu was beautifully adorned with pictures of the ACTUAL dishes they serve, and had a wide array of items. The picture and caption of the Brie appetizer caught my eye. I decided on that and a French Dip sandwich, topped with Caramelized Onions and Swiss. My server was quite nice(but I forget her name) and so I asked her what she thought of the Brie before I ordered. She hadn’t tried it, so I decided to order it and she said, if I liked it, she’d order one too. A bowl of bread showed up. To be honest, it didn’t look promising. Sort of a par-baked loaf(half baked and frozen, toasted and served) of french and some kind of fruit-nut bread slice, with a swirl of butter on the side. I couldn’t have been more wrong. The bread was amazing! The loaf had a chewy inside with a crisp outside, and that«swirl» of butter definitely had more to it than just butter. Maybe onion or garlic? It was reminiscent of the buttered rolls I used to buy at the corner store before school, except hot and gooey. And that«fruit-nut» bread? Awesome. Shortly after the bread, my Brie arrived. This dish is two pieces of toasted bread, sliced Granny Smith Apples, and baked Brie, topped with some sort of chutney.(Mango? Apricot?). I can’t really explain the intense flavor that comes out of this mismatch. It’s out of this world. Below is the tip I posted when I ate it: Get. The. Brie. Seriously, one of the top 5 things I’ve ever tasted in in the history of ever. Something about this combination of flavors, I don’t know what it is or why, but… When you eat it, I dare you not to think of the best parts of the best juicy buttery hamburger you’ve ever had. I dare ya. OK, so that was my «tip» and I still feel that way a few days later. So after practically(literally) licking the plate on the Brie dish I was pretty stuffed. But, my French Dip arrived, and it looked AWESOME too! I pulled the bread up to slather on the Horseradish Mayo, and I was sad to find raw red onions on top. :-(But, rather than complain, I just pushed them off onto the bread plate and tried the sandwich. It didn’t even need the onions, it was pretty great even without them. My server came over to check on me and noticed the red onions on the plate — I told her that the sandwich was amazing but they didn’t caramelize the onions — they were raw. She apologized over and over and said she could have the cook make some up, but I was so stuffed already I told her it was unnecessary. It was a great sandwich as is. She asked if I needed a box for the other half but I told her I couldn’t because I was going back to the hospital and had nowhere to keep it. A few minutes later my server popped up with a box of muffins — very large muffins, one in each flavor. She says this is to make up for the raw onions. I tell her that I can’t possibly eat them all, but thank her and say the nurses on Cindy’s floor will enjoy them. :-) A minute or two later, Erik(or Eric?) comes back over and we get into a conversation about how much I loved the Brie and the French Dip and how it was completely unnecessary to give me the muffins, but I thank him. Hearing the story of Cindy back at the hospital, he offers to send some food, but unfortunately she’s on a clear liquid diet. He doesn’t have any Jello for her, so he offers me a dessert on him. I got the Crème Brulee Cheesecake in honor of Cindy’s love for Crème Brulee. :-) I was way too full to eat it, so he packed it up to go and I had it an hour or so later. It was fantastic. In all it was an amazing dining experience, from great food to a great atmosphere to an amazingly helpful and customer-oriented staff… Just a great visit. After talking some more, Eric even offered to buy me breakfast one of these days if we’re still here in Fresno… Eric… I might come back if I can, but it won’t be for a free meal. It will be to patronize a great establishment with awesome food and and exceptional staff that goes over and above to please their customers and make them feel at home. Thank you for everything.(And the nurses SINCERELY appreciated the muffins!!)
