Camping World of Fresno

Not a very friendly place… not very helpful either. I’ve gone to Camp World 4 or 5 times over the years, and I can’t recall every being greeted or my presence acknowledged.
Their prices are very high for parts & accessories, but very organized. When I want something, I go there to find it… but usually I end up putting it back because amazon beats them in prices with shipping…
The biggest positive Camping World has though is it is NOT Paul Evert’s RV… biggest ripoff cons in the business. At least with Camping world you know what your getting end nobody will lie to you, probably because they don’t talk to you.

My husband and I recently purchased a 2016 Northland RV from Camping World in Fresno, CA. What started out as a fun adventure for us quickly turned into an horrible experience with the manager at the store. Now… when we were purchasing the RV everyone was very helpful. My husband and I took our first RV’ing trip to the beach. So excited! During this first trip we noticed some flaws inside and outside of the RV. This is the one and only time we have used our RV. So, once we got back home we went to Camping World to discuss our concerns. However, I did call and spoke to the manager about my concerns before we actually drove to Camping World and our discussion wasn’t very pleasant. He was quite rude and basically told me it is a «cardboard box» not a house and I should understand that. I told him that this «cardboard box» cost me over $ 25,000 and the RV should be in good condition. We agreed to meet on Saturday. When my husband and I arrived it took us some time to meet with the manager. The conversation that day went better than the phone call. After much discussion and some «education» on the RV he offered to tow the RV back to his shop at no cost and fix the issues. Also at this visit we spoke to his repair person and we discussed about adding some stabilizer bars and bought some other merchandise. The repair person was going to get a price on the stabilizer bars and call us with the info. That was 6 weeks ago. During this time my husband has called at least 3 times to get information on the repairs on our RV. No one ever called us with a price or an update on the repairs. Now… we had told them we needed our RV back by July 1, 2016 as we had a trip planned. Well, we once again drove over to Fresno to get some results. First they couldn’t find our paperwork or keys. After finally locating our RV I went inside to check it out. I’m not sure what happened when they towed it to Fresno but it was a mess! Plus I had ants in my RV even though I had cleaned and stored everything! The ants I could understand though. Having things knocked off the wall and our chair knocked over, well not sure about that. My husband went to speak to the manager and the conversation did not go well to say the least. It was a heated conversation and the manager told us that he was «done» with us and that he did not want our business, money and we were no longer welcomed in their place of business. The manager did agree to continue with the repairs and install the stabilizer bars… after a lengthy conversation. I felt like I was getting an education on the do’s and don’ts of the RV world. I tried to explain everything that had gone on with the RV and that we were dissatisfied with the progress. I wish I had the time to explain the whole conversation but it’s very long and he wasn’t very professional. In fact he was pretty rude. It was not a pleasant day. He also stated that if we posted anything negative on social media he would not make the repairs and he had gone above and beyond in helping us. Now keep in mind this is a brand new 2016 RV used only once. Extended warranty bought and paid for. Still under warranty. The manager did say he had the right to refuse to do business with us. He said that several times. All we wanted was for our RV to be repaired and look like the same RV as ours that was for sell, which had none of the blemishes ours had. But again it is just a cardboard box. The manager was suppose to call me the following Monday. By 3:00 I had not heard from him so I called him. I was told that we were to pick up our RV by 5:00 or it would be towed, to where I have no clue. I asked why and he stated that since my husband had posted negative comments he would not proceed with the repairs. After some discussion he stated he did complete the repairs and installed the stabilizer bars and there would not be a fee. I told him I wanted to pay for the stabilizers but he refused payment and said the RV was sitting out front and needed to be picked up before it was towed. So, I scrambled to find someone to tow our RV to Visalia and when they got there our RV was not out front as the manager had told me. They were still working on it. Not sure how that happened unless the manager wasn’t keeping up on things. I work in a professional office and I am in management. I deal with people and employees every day. I can honestly say I would never treat a customer as I have been treated. I wouldn’t have a job for long. A manager is suppose to manage and set an example to his employees. The manager of this Camping World needs to take some management courses. If you decide to purchase an RV from this Camping World I wish you luck. I just had a terrific experience at Camping World, Fresno. I have been RVing for 38 years having owned 2 Class C’s and now am on my 3^rd Class A. I’m not a full timer but guessing I have RV’d about 40,000 miles in my life. So, I’ve been around
I wanted to upgrade my Motor Home’s tow bar system after 12 years and even though we have been extremely happy with Roadmaster’s Falcon 2 it was time to move up to the All-​Terrain unit. In addition, I wanted something different than the Brake Buddy system that, while it worked for us, we felt the full braking system of Roadmaster’s Invisbrake that ties in the brakes of the motor home to the toad was safer and met our future needs. Lastly, I wanted a battery cutoff switch that would eliminate the battery drain from the radio without the nuisance of pulling a fuse on long towing drives.
The team effort at Camping World to put it all together smoothly and correctly can’t be overstated. It starts with the Parts Dept people like Howard and also Rita to get the right parts ordered that worked specifically for my Motor Home and toad. The Service writer Tim coordinated, scheduled and planned the multiple day deal (kept me posted along the way) and then worked with the installer, a guy named Robert, whose skills in dealing with electronics, electric connections, braking and tow bar base plate installation was admirable. Furthermore, Robert had what it takes to also make the new stuff look great in the RV and the toad.
I am so very satisfied with Camping World-Fresno’s team effort. All of the pieces of customer satisfaction came together for me. No question for me where I go the next time I need work done. Marcus Lemonis’ business model of «People, Process and Product» works here, for sure.

My wife and I are newbies to the RV world. My wife and I have been looking at fifth wheels for a little over a year now. We knew exactly what floor plan we needed, and the manufacturer we needed to get it from. I did some research and read review after review about local RV dealers. Most reviews I read were not positive, there are a lot of horror stories which of course made me nervous. We had made several trips to Camping World earlier in the year while window shopping RV’s. Each time we were met by salesmen who showed us what they had in stock and answered our many questions. Salesmen get paid on commission so we thought that was why we were always greeted with positive attention. Called on a Tuesday morning to ask if they had the Sandpiper fifth wheel we wanted. Jay answered the phone, confirmed he did not have it but to come in and meet with him to see what he could do. We showed up for our appointment and were greeted be salesmen once again. Except the salesman actually remembered my wife and I from months earlier. Nick and Carson were amazing. Carson really sold the RV. He is honest, genuine, and a no bullshit kind of guy. While Carson was running numbers, Nick answered every question we had. If Nick didn’t know the answer, he found the answer. He didn’t try to bullshit his way through our questions. Integrity and ethics are rare in salesman. Nick has both and Camping World is lucky to have him. Carson came out with numbers and after a short conversation beat his competitors price, no haggling, no up sell. Carson was brutally honest about credit scores, loan options, and emphasized that purchases this big deserved some deep thought. I was stunned. Carson and Nick didn’t care if we bought an RV, they wanted to make sure we were happy and comfortable with purchase. Needless to say we bought an RV. Our fifth wheel will arrive in July. Carson flat refused to let us do the financing, until we see the RV we ordered. To ensure its what WE want. Who does that? The store manager Jay has a happy team of employees who enjoy what they do. Jay himself is a happy guy who is always smiling, and who constantly assures you, that if you ever need anything to let him know. Five years or ten years from know I am confident that Camping World of Fresno will still be there for me. All thanks to a store manager that gets his hands dirty and answers the phone. Nick gave me his personal cell number in case I have any questions, here or on the road. I will do my best not to abuse that lol. Carson, Nick and Jay you have made us your friends not your customers. We will forever be grateful. A huge Corporation with a little local store attitude. Simply amazing.

Awesome service! We pulled in for some supplies just before close, and instead of sending us out in the 100+ degree heat to find a place to stay overnight, they offered us a hookup, and a place to park till morning when we have a better chance of finding a campsite somewhere. Seriously dont know how we would have managed in this heat elsewhere.

Wonderful customer service! Brought our 5^th wheel in for what we thought was a leak and the service department went all out for us. Thankfully our water leak was not due to a broken tanks or lines. If your ever there go by and say Hello to Rita at the service desk.

Yesterday at Camping World I experience a very unprofessional employee taking his break on a retail lawnchair right as we walked in the place and he was talking crap about fellow employees to one of the other employees as she was helping us and checking us out. My husband had his hands full and walked to the front where these two were doing nothing and said «I could use a cart» he got the response «there they are over there, get one and fill it up.» We needed some help with a profane regulator, so we asked if someone could help us, so as this employee is coming to help us, the one sitting in the chair says «why doesn’t he get off his fat ass and find it himself». I was floored at this point. She helps us find what we need and as she is checking our purchases out, that guy is still sitting in that chair talking crap to her about the other employees. It was ridiculous, the place is ridiculous.

Every time I come to this place I find friendly and helpful service. Prices are fair, and selection is good. I would especially recommend them if you are looking to purchase a travel trailer, as my buying experience was completely positive in every single way… especially when compared to other dealers in the area (that’s right Paul Evert’s…I’m looking at you!!!). I will definitely keep coming back here for years to come :). Customer for life!

Went to look at RV’S to buy. All units were locked and not one person came up to us to ask if they could help us. Big mistake. A purchase is definitely in our future as we will be downsizing from a 38′ 5^th Wheel.

Normal products, prices kind of high. If you qualfy for the Good Sam discount be sure you get it. Everytimr we go there we catch them charging us full price after we give them our Good Sam number. don’t trust them!

We pulled in with our truck & trailer & there was no place to park. Only parking for cars & the spots where we could have parked were filled with trailers they are selling. We left without shopping. Very disappointed.

Been too many dealerships and was expecting another typically awful experience. Not so much here… salespeople were really straight forward and very knowledgeable. We found a motor home we loved and we bought it and the salesmen made it a fun and meaningful experience. Also, thanks to the service team for ensuring we learned everything before going on our first trip. Very pleased!

Am I the first to review? Cool. We came in here yesterday, and had the best service here. We went to Paul everts rv country next door right before and they were horrible.
This store just opened up about a month ago. I have a feeling they will be closing out rv country. Very nice store. I can not express enough on their awesome service we had. We needed to get our rig set up to your or trailer back home. They were only able to do the hitch, at the time, but that’s ok. We chatted with Rita, who was very friendly and even gave us a soda while we were waiting. The gentleman from Mississippi, who waited on us in the service dept, seemed a little frazzled, couldn’t multitask, would get sidetracked, but he was nice though. It all worked out though. Can’t remember his name. Even the cashier up front was very helpful too, and the guy who installed the hitch who nice too.
It’s funny, we live close to the Morgan hill store and never stepped in there. I can see we will be a kid in a candy store here. Lol
I totally recommend this place, they had tons of stuff but told us its not everything they have. What? It was fine to us. Lol lots of trailers too to buy. I wonder if they do trade ins? Would love to do that in a few years when we finally upgrade.
