Purchased through groupon. Have only had one treatment which was a little pain full, but the staff was friendly and it’s pretty true to appointment. Nice place would recommend.

Purchased vela shape through groupon, good deal but had to schedule 2 weeks apart due to they being fully booked. Have done 3 treatments but don’t really see much of a difference. Nice staff and quick service

Purchased the Groupon deal for Velashape treatments. The first session was a little painful, but it has gotten better from there. Based on the price and the stellar service, I would recommend Athenix to anyone!

I purchased a Groupon for $ 99 and that included 3 sessions of the cellulite treatment. I didn’t have major cellulite to start, so I thought the $ 99 value was a great deal to try the treatment out. I had the treatment on the back of my legs and noticed major results after the second session. I just completed my third session and I am very pleased with the results. The procedure caused minor bruising after my second session and I would feel a little sore the evening of, but it was manageable. I used Aloe Vera after each session and I believe that helped to maintain minimal bruising. I love the results and will be a recurring client!

I purchased the living social deal for three treatments of Vela Shape and today I will be doing my third treatment. I am very excited with the results I see with just two sessions I can’t wait to see how today’s third session results turn out. I am super excited that this easy non-​painful treatment is working for me because I had a baby a year ago and the pouch would just not go away. I have high hopes that this Mommy pouch will be gone. I love how fast the appointments are and I never waited in the waiting room for long it really is an in and out deal you can do on your lunch hour if you work. This is the best experience I have had at an office like this and I have been to about four different places for an array of different things and they are by far the best in customer service.

Had Smart Lipo done by Dr. Tavassoli and love my results. The front staff reception is very knowledgable and the medical team went above and beyond my expectations.
Dr. Tavassoli is very professional and took the time to answer all my questions and insured everything was clear and made me feel confident and comfortable.

Actual services were quite timely and professional but appointments were cancelled on me for two weeks in a row, when I was supposed to have the Vela shape done about a week apart. I saw a small improvement and the technicians at the first two appointments were nice but my third appointment was never scheduled since the two cancellations put my appointments 3 weeks apart. Very disappointing and especially since there was not an apology.
POSITIVE UPDATE– after learning of my experience I received a very nice and sincere message and apology from Athenix and will be receiving a new round of packages. Very professional and truly has won me over as a customer again. The message was personal, remedied the situation as best as possible and was genuinely caring. Thank you!!!

Had a traditional tummy tuck and reconstruction of my stomach muscle. And though there were complications, it seemed no one rested until my issues were solved. I love my new body and it wouldn’t have been possible without surgery, no matter how much I worked out. I am glad I chose Athenix, all my questions were answered and concerns met. I look so much better and I feel great!

I first tried the Living Social special and got pretty good results.
Then decided to go for the micro body liposuction procedure for more permanent results. Love handles gone and can see my abs again! Dr. T is an artist and definitely an expert in this area. The procedure wasn’t painful and I was back to work in a few days. thanks again!

Vela shape hurttttts. I had this done over a year ago with the groupon for 6 treatments. It always hurt and I always had the blackest bruises after treatment. I saw no results.

Ok, I did the living social deal which was three treatments for $ 99. They say it takes six sessions for you to get the desired results. After the first session I was sore. The next two sessions decreased in discomfort. After the third treatment I could feel and see the difference in the waist line of my pants. I have been dieting and was running every morning. The results were mmm ok at the cheaper price, but at full price I won’t do it again. I like that they offer to give you the full value of the velashape towards their body sculpting. But I can’t see spending that until I cut as much BF as I can at the gym.
Overall experience with staff, cleanliness, and immediate treatment (no sitting in waiting room) was excellent. I’d try it again but not until I was closer to my goal from the gym. It’s not a magic cure.

This place is a joke. A waste of money indeed.

I doubt this company will last… they have no morals or values.

I had some concerns that I had felt went unaddressed.
However, I spoke to them earlier today and upon finding out how unhappy I was with the current results, they did seem concerned with helping to make me feel better about them. We sat down, spoke about my concerns and how to possibly go about fixing them. Dr. Tavassoli gave me a bit of a history on his work and background in the medical field.
They arranged to have me speak to another surgeon so I could get a second opinion on the results and how to possibly fix the problem areas.
Also, my consultant from my first visit/​consultation came in to personally see what parts I was unhappy about and wanted to keep updated on what was being done to fix the unevenness which was making me unhappy. From the get go I’ve been very satisfied with her genuine interest in my case. I’m sure all of the consultants are good, but Kat was who I dealt with and I would recommend her.
I feel more confident now that there will be a better conclusion hopefully in the near future.
While for the time being I am still iffy about the unevenness they do seem willing to try to fix it at no extra cost which I do appreciate.
I will keep this updated as it progresses.
Update:
I sat down with the original surgeon who did the operation and another one who stops in periodically. They stressed that it could damage the tissue around where they do the touch ups. I mean, REALLY stressed it. Before rendering services they brought it up as a possibility but afterwards they emphasized it. The other surgeon that had stopped in had a not so great bedside manner. I decided against getting touch ups because I felt intimidated. I don’t think they’d do anything on purpose to damage tissue, but I could tell they were upset about the big stink I made over the sloppy work so I didn’t feel comfortable having them do more surgery.
Do I regret getting liposuction? No. But I wish I had gone somewhere else.
The people here are very nice. Very welcoming and what not, but I’m not paying thousands of dollars to be treated nice. I paid it to have a good job done and I don’t feel like that’s what I got. I still have gynecomastia (my doctor confirmed it) even after paying to have my chest done. All they did was lipo it but when I discussed removing the excess tissue they really pushed the risks. Like, really pushed it.
This happened a few months back but this is the first time I got on Unilocal to update this.

I am writing again because I have gotten a lot of response from people asking questions about the procedures. I am getting the same questions for most of you, so thought I would just post them and hopefully save you some time. But… if you have any other questions please feel free to e-​mail me.
1. I had my procedure on the Tuesday before Christmas (Sat.) and went back to work on Monday. I feel I would have been able to go back to a desk job on Friday if I had needed to. I work in a medical office so am on my feet all day, so Monday was as soon as I would try that.
2. I wore that compression as long as they told me to, which was 4 – 6 wks but I continued to wear lighter ones after that for about 4 more weeks. I wore all of them inside out in order to not have the seams rub against my skin as it was sensitive after surgery and lasted about 4 wks. When I got uncomfortable I would change to a different garment. That seemed to help. Also, Walmart had some very good one piece compression garments (buy one size smaller than you think you need) for very reasonable prices. The longer you wear the compression the better the results.
3. My skin does not look like it did when I was twenty. It does not have dimples, and my skin is smooth but it took time to get where I didn’t see the incision spots, but like I said don’t expect to look like an airbrushed pic out of a magazine. I am VERY happy with the results and in clothes look GREAT. I have gone from a size 10 to a size 6 (Dec 2010 to Aug 2011 no extra working out but I do eat healthy and exercise)
4. I followed their protocol for working out. They told me light work out at 4−6wks and after all the draining is stopped. Their follow ups are very complete and all questions are answered. I was told to call if I had ANY questions and all questions were answered immediately.
5. I was told that I would keep shrinking for several months and I think that has happened and is at its maximum by now. I did go to Cancun in March and was very happy with how I looked in a bikini then. I have gone down another size from 8 to 6 since that time. (No extra working out.)
