The Dance Shop is a full service dancewear store. Established 38 years ago, We sell dancewear for Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Tap, Modern, Lyrical, Praise, Ballroom, Character and Gymnastics for Men and Women, Boys and Girls.

We carry shoes, leotards and tights for all these dance forms. We have unitards, leggings, jazz pants, legwarmers, sweaters, tops, skirts, and undergarments by the top dancewear manufacturers.

Our brand names include Bloch, Body Wrappers, Capezio, Baltogs, Bunheads, Eurotard, Freed, Gaynor Minden, Grishko, Harmonie, KD Dance, Leos, M. Stevens, Mirella, Motionwear, Sansha, So Danca, and Stephanie.

Our store is staffed by dancers as it is for dancers. We have been involved in all aspects of the dance world, as performers, teachers, choreographers, students, audience and yes, dance moms and dads, too.

History

Established in 1977.

We have been involved in dance for well over 45 years. We have been participants in all aspects as students, teachers, performers, and choreographers. As owners of a successful studio in New York for over ten years, we had been deeply involved in teaching, choreography, and producing dance theatre productions. Our owner, Debbie, has credits as a dancer on television, in commercials, industrials, and performed in the International Company of «A Chorus Line».

In 1977, we became involved in dancewear retailing when we opened up The Dance Shop. With our extensive background in the dance arts, and our ability to carry a large and extensive inventory we felt able to fulfill the needs of our dance community.

Our staff is all dance trained. Their knowledge is a tremendous asset to dancers and future dancers who shop at our store. Their advice is essential for the fit of a proper pointe shoe as well as making you look great in the latest dancewear styles.
