Brendan’s Service Station

I have been coming here for a few years now. They are nice, compassionate, reasonable, and professional people! The only auto repair station that I have been to where I do not feel as though I am being screwed. Highly recommended :)

If you’re looking for a good, professional, honest shop, these are your guys. I found them through Angies list. I brought my car in for scheduled maintenance once and I’ve been coming back ever since. Anyone can do scheduled maintenance service, so it’s hard to judge based only on that. I recommended a friend to them. She knows nothing about cars. She bought a used car and wasn’t sure if it needed any work done. She took the car in since I recommended them. They looked over the car and said it was perfectly fine. They didn’t charge her at all since there was no work was done. Many other shops would have robbed her blind. It’s kinda sad, but this kind of quality and honesty is hard to find I this line of work. I would recommend them to anyone.

I’ve been going to Brendan’s service station for a little over a year now. The owner is one of the most honest person. He is right on point with what your vehicle needs are. I will be referring my friends and family to come here. I highly recommend Brendan’s Service Station.

Had only one visit, but was in and out without a problem. I asked for an oil change and was able to apply the Unilocal promo for a $ 10 discount, which was nice. I also asked them to let me know if there were any problems, but they did not find any or push for me to purchase anything either. I appreciated this. I will definitely bring my car back

I don’t have a problem with the service. They are friendly and professional. I won’t be using them anymore because its pricey. I think their labor cost is 90.00 an hour. I had 2 front links and 2 ball joints replaced and wheel alignment and it cost me $ 700. I believe I can get it cheaper at another professional station.

I have been a customer at Brendan’s since 2008 on the recommendation of my mother in law.
Niall is one of the most honest and conscious mechanics I have ever dealt with. He goes through every problem that my car has and after telling him that I was only looking to repair the bare minimum that would make my car safe to get me from work and back, he recommended fixing just what he thought was necessary to keep the car safe.
It is a breath of fresh air to deal with someone that is as honest as he is .
After moving from Queens to the border of Nassau/​Suffolk, I still use him as my mechanic. I highly recommend Niall and his crew at Brendan’s.

Not sure if new owners or management here but. I normally bring my cars here for oil changes and emergency repairs and never had a problem they were always courteous and professional. This morning I called to see if they can do a Wheel alignment on my car because my job mechanics put 4 new tires on it and replaced the tie rods and told me I needed a wheel alignment asap or I would mess up the new tires. Brendan’s said for me to bring it in, leave it there and I can pick it up at 4: pm so I did. Walked all the way back home in the rain usually they would have offered to drop me off at the house but not today. I called at 4 to see if the car was ready and they said sorry we didn’t get to it today. WHAT? I said why didn’t someone call me and let me know it wouldn’t be ready I asked. Sorry he said and asked if I can leave him the car till Monday. I walked all the way back there to get my car and i got the keys and started the car to leave the car was already warm inside as if it was taken out for a spin. Doubt I’ll ever go there again

I have been using this shop for just about a year. It’s in my neighborhood and the reviews were mostly good so I tried them. The owner, Niall, is very nice; he takes the time to explain everything thoroughly and he appears to be honest, but it’s hard to tell since I don’t know much about cars. I do think this place is a bit pricey. Since I don’t know much about car mechanics, I’ll never know for sure if they’ve been completely honest with me. He claims to use «better parts» and will not use cheaper parts to keep the cost down in some cases, due to «safety reasons». I will continue to use them even though they are a bit pricey because the customer service is good and the owner is nice, they are in my neighborhood, and I haven’t had a problem with any work I had done so far.

Found this place via Unilocal when I realized my tire was super low. (I think it’s fair to say that everyone I always skeptical when it comes to any auto service center.)
This place seems legit. Their customer service is on point. The guys are efficient. And I was in and out relatively quickly.

Good honest auto mechanic are the hardest thing to find. Just type auto shop and see for yourself. I called Niall at Brendan’s Service Station for state inspection, he was willing to do the inspection on the spot while I was waiting even though he was very busy with many car waiting to be repaired. Niall and his crew were very courteous.
Gave suggestion without being pushy. All in all very rare good experience at an auto shop.
Highly recommended.

Having never owned a car in NY, I was very apprehensive when deciding to choose the shop to work on my car. Unilocalers recommend this shop and give it top marks. Much of what has been notes is true. Niall is very friendly and welcoming, the prices seem reasonable (Oil change $ 20 with your own oil and filter). I can see why most people would want to come back as the service is done in an adequate amount of time, but I seemed to be one of the unlucky few. An inexperienced employee changed my oil and put in 5 quarts instead of 7.9. I had to add oil on the side of the road after my car was seizing on the highway. After taking the car back the next day, I was met with apologies and they looked at my car right away. I was assured that everything was fine, but I can no longer trust this shop as there could have been major damage to my car. I would not recommend coming here if ‘the new guy’ is working on your car. This has not been a pleasant experience.

I had to get one of my tires patched up. Due to my past experience with Savvy Auto, I decided to try out a new place. Unilocalers say that the service at this place was impeccable… and I TOTALLY AGREE.
The guy that helped with me, answered all my questions thoroughly. And he took the time to explain the other problems with my car. He gave me options to choose from and helped me compare the prices. I was not forced to do anything.
Also, the man who fixed up my car was extremely nice. He knew I was in a hurry so he continuously updated me on the status of the car. So nice!
I also witnessed two other customers get into an accident in their parking lot. The older woman who hit the other woman’s car was very scared. The workers outside immediately ran inside to call out one of the customer service guys. Nial, guy who helped the two woman resolve the issue, was extremely patient. Although not really his problem, Nial took the time out to calm the women down and explain to them how it can be fixed. Immediately, the issue was resolved. I was impressed.
I’ll be returning to get other services done for my car.

Wow. I am used to friendly and accommodating people in the Midwest, but I have never experienced such high quality and friendly auto repair service in my life as what I had today at Brendan’s. The people here go out of their way to make you happy and serve you well. As long as we stay in Queens, we won’t take our cars anywhere else.

I’ve been bringing my company car here for a while now for scheduled maintenance and I’m always pleased.
This is a large, clean shop and they do quality work at reasonable prices. Bryan, Nial and the crew are all great guys and they all do their best to take care of you. This is a moderately busy shop but they’re never too busy for a customer. Most times I just show up randomly and they tend to me almost right away.
They also do photo inspections and insurance work. Come check these guys out, the shop’s been there since 1975, so they’re not going anywhere anytime soon.
You’ll be more than satisfied with their work.

Great mechanic, found through Angie’s list. Very good service, they found a short in the ABS trouble light another mechanic spent a week trying to troubleshoot. Not the cheapest, but I am confident he uses good quality parts and get its right.

Brendan’s was recommended to me initially by a family friend. It wasn’t until the wheel fell off of my car that I actually had to use them. They were fantastic. They were also the only people able to fix and repair my check engine light issue after the dealership and two other places tried and failed (very expensive failures!).
They are stand up guys who stand by their work. Any time I have encountered even the slightest issue with work performed they have stepped right up to the plate and corrected the issue with no additional charge.
I won’t bring my cars to anyone else.

This place seemed like it would be a good bet, it had one good review and happens to be down the street from my house. I brought in my car to be fixed because the check engine light was on… the work they said would cost $ 960…needing a second opinion I waited until I went back home to MA the next week and brought it to a local shop I have known for years, the difference in cost? $ 400…They charged me $ 560 as opposed to his $ 960.Maybe he tried to screw me over because I had mass plates…

The crew at Brendan’s is awesome. I take my VW only to them, would never go back to a VW dealer. They find exactly what is wrong, and fix it as promised and in a prompt fashion.
