I usually dont write reviews unless service is really amazing or rubbish. I have had westcoast auto repair as my primary go-​to repair/​maintenance shop since 2009 for all my vehicles. They have served me far better than any other dealer or repair shops around the area. When it comes to being honest and efficient services, there’s no one better than west-​coast auto repair.
To sum it up, if you want a reliable mechanic, just like your doctor or a lawyer then look no further.

West Coast Auto Repair worked on all of my cars for the last 10 years. They are now servicing my 2013 Honda Crosstour and always take very good care of me. They are honest, they perform excellent work at a decent price, they are in my neighborhood, and they are always friendly. I will not take my vehicle to any other mechanic in Fremont, and that includes the Honda dealership!

Do not go here for an oil change. I brought my car here thinking it would’ve been a good idea to bring it in since I didn’t have the time to change the oil myself. I picked up my car and he hands me the keys while telling me he didn’t put full synthetic oil in it. I couldn’t take him seriously, so I took my car straight home and just changed the oil again myself. After removing the drain bolt, I saw that they did not replace the crush washer and there were pieces of a rubber glove on the thread of the bolt. Bring your car elsewhere, I definitely wouldn’t bring my car here again.

DON’T TAKE YOUR CAR TO THESE PEOPLE! My car needed a power steering pump replaced. They charged me the price of a brand new part but they actually installed an old used part which seemed like had been purchased from a junk yard or was rebuild. Part failed in less than a year. My mistake was that I had paid them cash and had no receipt. They clearly denied the bad job they had done on my car. I had paid them close to a $ 1000 for this job. Bunch of dishonest people. Don’t trust these people or else you will regret it and NEVER PAY THEM CASH.

I took my well maintained 1989 Honda Accord to West Coast Auto because of the check engine light had come on. In addition to suggesting a fix to the problem, the technician also recommended replacing the aging distributor, which naively I agreed to.
Unfortunately, things began to get complicated from that point onwards. I had to take my car into the shop more than once because the problem was not fixed. When I took the car to my old mechanic, it turned out that the problem was misdiagnosed … this is a simple case of reading the diagnostic message from the car electronics!
The new distributor also broke down about 2 years after it was replaced. Turned out that this was an after market unit that did not meet specifications. My car broke down twice while driving and it took many attempts by an expert to finally replace the part. This is the *first* time that my car has ever broken down on the street.
The owners of this place are undeniably courteous and nice. However their technical abilities are questionable based on my experience. I will never go to them again. There are many competent Honda mechanics in the area who can rival these folks.

I have been bringing my car here for almost two years now. Sam and Tej are very helpful and always ready to explain what needs to be done. I came here after Toyota service quoted me 800 for replacing breaks which after inspection Sam said only needed minor adjustment. I have been coming here since even after moving out of Fremont.

It’s hard to trust people with your car but I would recommend this place because I trust the work Sam has provided for me. I have a Mitsibushi Eclipse, 2000 GT. Sam waived the diagnostic fee and really worked at giving me some discounts since it needed alot of work due to wear and tear:
1. Front brake pads and rotor
2. Motor Mount
3. Valve Cover gasket replaced
It’s not just the discounts, although that helped, but he really was honest and upfront. I didn’t feel like he was trying to make a quick buck out of me like how sometime you feel like mechanics do. He was very professional, told me what the problems were and did not make me feel pressured in any way to make a decision.
Overall, I was very happy with his work and professionalism. As a bonus, he got my car washed since they were washing a few cars there. A reflection of his «above and beyond» attitude and customer services.
I would defintely come back here again for future work/​services.

I would not recommend this auto repair for many reasons.
First of all, I don’t know who you all are who are giving this place 5 stars but you must all be indians, or cousins.
I took my car here for service and he rang me up and did the opposite of what you all say on here. I paid $ 665 for a radiator to be put in… thats right 665 dollars. He made a long list of necessary car repairs for the future, estimating at about 1200 dollars. No one wants an estimate of future repairs bill, just fix whats needed, then he broke my car radio and never told me about it until I tried it while driving away. It never should have been turned on in the shop anyway!
When I asked him about an estimate for the brakes he said I needed, mgr. replied «I don’t give estimates» what– after you just charged my credit card $ 665.00? Then when I pressed for a quote he said «Why do we have to get off to a bad start» WTF… did I not pay you MONEY ???
I don’t know about fair, honest, and trustworthy, maybe if your indian, if you’re white you get charged 3 times the price. He did have it on time though, just be sure you bring your negotiating skills. Good luck.

A1 service!
Took my car for an oil pump issue, and they fixed it at the lowest price. I was wondering about the parts they used, but I did a check with my friend mechanic who said the parts are not cheap ones.
They were courteous, fixed what was needed and since I asked for a complete diagnostic, recommended other issues. BUT, THEY DID NOT OVERSELL! In fact, they asked me to first check if I am satisfied with the current work they did, and then come back for other issues. Their service is great, prompt and honest. Tej and Sam are very approachable.
Definitely go here.

I took my car to West Coast Auto because my cousin recommended the place and I am so so happy I did. I have a benz and the lock (ignition lock) was stuck, I went to the Benz dealership and Tejinder (owner of West Auto) quoted me one-​third of what the dealership had. I had done my homework by doing online research, so I knew what he was talking about. The owner was honest, which is so hard to find in a mechanic :) He also fixed a leak for free, which I knew about but thought was too expensive to fix and recommended other things but on a priority scale. He did not push anything, any extra services. It is so annoying when mechanics make a long list of things your car needs but he did not do that. I absolutely loved the service and highly recommend it.

Tj and Sam are the best. They are very honest and direct and they do not give the run around like most auto repair do. They will take extra time and explain in layman terns that most of us understand. This place were customer service still exist.
