michael d hit the nail on the head. both v and r kahlon practice the same patient care of charging you for never seeing you, or charging you 150 $ for 5 minutes of time. this is in reference to my family member’s stay at Fremont BHC Dr. Kahlon(BOTHOFTHEM — husband and wife working at the same facility seeing the same patients? I dont know if thats cute or a conflict of interest) let me give her some credit though, at the beginning of my family member’s stay, she was nice. after i started asking some serious questions, the niceness stopped. my family member received a bill Dr. Kahlon’s office, 150/hr each day of the hospitalization to have my family member be «seen» by Dr. Kalon on some days for less than 5 minutes, and on some days not at all. they say(condescending tone) «more goes into the treatment than just ‘seeing’ patients» ok well, first of all, that sounds ludicrous. second of all, you’re the one medicating the patient. how could you possibly determine how their condition is if you dont see them yourself? I get that the staff of fremont BHC is supposed to work with you, but the staff SUCKS and half the staff doesnt actually check on patients that are sick from over medication or even cares if patients are around for rounds. rounds are performed every 15 minutes, and yet on so many visits did i sit there with my family member for the full 2hr 45 min visiting period in a private day room all the way to the back of the hallway and have no one check to see if we were in there. for $ 150 an hour, you better SEE the patient. if you are relying on the hospital staff to be doing your diagnoses and reporting back to you, shouldnt i be making payments to the hospital staff since they see my family member more than you and are the ones observing their behavior for more than 5 minutes a day? Dr. Kahlon also prescribed medication that was not needed for the condition my family member has, and caused my family members stay in the hospital to be 3 days longer than necessary due to «testing» required by the medication — which means more $$ for the hospital and both Dr. Kahlons. Again, why are they charging for spending literally 5 minutes or not seeing patients at all is really quite an amazing job — and tells me i gotta become a psychiatrist! Female Dr. Kahlon got very defensive when i inquired about how a hearing works, only because i was unfamiliar with the term at the time. she got quite perturbed with me for even asking. male Dr. Kahlon, as a psychiatrist you would think would be able to speak to people in a calm manner, and when i was inquiring why he was keeping my family member longer than necessary, every time i opened my mouth to ask a question Dr. Kahlon would start yelling over me. i eventually had to shriek«CAN I FINISHMYSENTENCEFIRSTPLEASE?» both of them have poor rapport, i firmly believe poor judgement, and seem to enjoy practicing over medicating. I have filed a complaint with member services at Kaiser against both Fremont BHC and Dr. Kahlon I urge you to do the same if your experience was anything less than«just OK»

This doctors office is in complete violation of privacy laws. What the other raters have found out that there are may doctors of this ilk who believe that their MD stands for My Deity. No patient should ever be asked questions within ear shot of other patiets.

A lot of stuff at work, family and general stress, I wanted to speak to a shrink, which I do a couple times a year. A new insurance company and HMO meant finding a new Dr. So a mini rip inside a bigger rip — the last of Dr’s associated with my Cigna plan was woefully out of date — many no longer existed. On to Dr. Vasdeep Kahlon. I call for an appointment. The first one they are able to offer is more than a month away! My 4pm appointment arrives, there are 5 people ahead of me. The good doctor is not even there, and it is uncertain when he will arrive. The receptionist is the only staff there, her desk is in the waiting room, less than 5 feet from most of the waiting patients, and she’s asking me all sorts of personal information within everyone’s earshot. I know this, because I heard everyone else. When I had a question that I wanted to ask privately, she said that was not possible. While standing at the counter speaking with her, all sorts of information about other patients were easily visible in front of her for anyone inclined to pry. Finally the Doctor arrives, and in fairness, he wasn’t too delayed. I was in front of him by about 4:45, which is not unreasonable for a 4pm appointment. I think the uncertainty of the timing and his arrival was more frustrating. I sit down with him, and I’m in a bad mood from the month wait, and the lack of privacy, and I share this with him, and he reacts with attitude and anger, and I’m out the door in a minute and a half
