My wife and I recently contracted with S&Y to perform remodeling work at our Fremont house. This is the 4^th time we have utilized their services and obviously have been very satisfied and pleased with all the work performed. Young and Sue, owners, are excellent to work with and have always been quite willing to work through any issues or with our numerous change orders. I also appreciate the fact that their workers are not only skilled but are also very detail oriented and is reflected in the beautiful job they did in the remodel of our 2 bathrooms. We also appreciate the fat that the work was completed as estimated with o additional costs except for our change orders.
We’re glad to have chosen S&Y and will definitely contract them again for any and all remodel work in the future.

«Painted» the interior of my house. Also painted the windows, furniture, floors, and appliances/​hardware.
Paint started peeling within a week.
Crew permanently damaged m my furniture.

If you care about your house, do not contact these people. The project assigned to them would’ve been completed much much sooner if the contractors would have showed up everyday like they said they would. Their schedule was unpredictable as there would be days, and up to a two weeks where they didn’t show up. The end product was extremely sloppy and looked rushed. I would also recommend that you hide your vacuum cleaner, buckets, towels as I have found that they would use them to clean up after themselves.

We contracted with S & Y to completely renovate and remodel our Newark townhouse and we were extremely pleased with every aspect of their work. First off, they came out to do an estimate and Young Ko, the co-​owner of S & Y with his wife Sue, did a thorough job assessing the condition of the property as well as listening carefully to our requirements and giving us some sound up-​front advice on the best way to proceed. He sent us a detailed estimate for the work which was very reasonable. After we signed the contract they set to work immediately and their crew accomplished a surprising amount in a only a few days. Whenever there was a problem with obtaining materials, a decision to be made the S &Y staff worked with us to quickly resolve the issue so the work could continue uninterrupted. Communication was always smooth, and their staff is very friendly, patient and knowledgeable. They gave us valuable suggestions on décor, color schemes, materials, etc., which proved to be practical and aesthetically pleasing. Everything was completed on time and at agreed price. I would highly recommend this outfit for any type of remodeling work, including kitchen and bathroom renovation, painting, electrical work and flooring. It was a real pleasure working with them the S & Y team.
