Move Pros

This company was the third-​party delivery company that supposed to deliver one piece of furniture I’d ordered online to my apartment. However, because they are apparently NOT *actually* pros at this, it took them several weeks to figure out how to deliver furniture to an address IN San Francisco.
At first, they interrogated me as to where they could potentially park. I informed them that that wasn’t really my concern, they were the professionals and therefore should be the ones to figure that out, especially since I’d already paid $ 300 in delivery fees. They insisted that they couldn’t deliver something unless I had a parking spot for them. I pointed out to them that I live in a city, there are plenty of metered parking spots on my street, and that many other companies have been able to deliver large pieces of furniture to me in the past. They then informed me that due to my lack of reserved parking spot for them, the delivery of my item is on indefinite hold. In other words, I ordered from the wrong company, because they use this company, Move Pros to deliver their items, even though Move Pros cannot figure out how to do so.
Worse, they expected me to figure out where they should park… even though that’s THEIR job. I simply paid out the derrière for shipping, and somehow I’m supposed to figure out how to do THEIR job, too??? Maybe they should be paying ME!!! Mind you, I gave them multiple suggestions. They poo-​pooed them all. I started to get the feeling that they were just too lazy to drive an item into San Francisco unless they could get valet service and a red carpet!!!
I find this perplexing. I’ve had moving companies move me to my current building without incident. I’ve had a temper-​pedic adjustable bed and frame delivered here from Sleep Train without incident. I’ve had a desk, two very large sofas, an armoire, and a variety of other items delivered here in just the past 6 months with zero problems.
Clearly, none of those items was delivered by Move Pros, because if it had been up to them, those deliveries would also be on indefinite hold until they actually learn a skill that every other delivery service seems to be able to perform just fine, which is how to deliver an item in San Francisco!!!
After several more weeks of back and forth between myself, the online company I actually placed the order with, and Move Pros, eventually my furniture was delivered. It took them a grand total of 20 minutes, including «assembly». To their credit, the two guys who actually brought the furniture into my livingroom and put the top on the base were fast and excellent, and so we tipped them accordingly. If only the whole experience could’ve been this easy!
This was such a headache I hadn’t bargaining for. It’d be one thing if delivery was free, because beggars can’t be choosers… but I paid A LOT for shipping. For that price, I expect them to hire *actual* moving pros.
Just not these guys.

Do not use this mover if you have any of the following:
Large screen tv’s
floor lamps
full length mirrors
pictures/​paintings
select number bed
BBQ propane tank
Pretty much anything that plugs into a wall.
I’ve never encountered a mover that wouldn’t move such items. I ended up having to hire a second mover (after paying this company) to move the items I mentioned above.
The administration office was a nightmare. Rude, unhelpful and argumentative.
Save yourself the aggravation and hire a real moving company that knows how to move things.

I ordered a bed set and when they arrived I must have had a comfused about setting it up cause chris asked if I needed help putting it together I said yes him and Andrew did an amazing job it was hard work I definitely recommend these guys not only do they deliver on time fast and friendly service but also help extra for a mom with kids that’s not only time saving but less stressful thank you much you guys I will use this service again

These guys are unbelievable. They arrived on time and started working after a very short briefing. They treated the furnitures with respect and were gentle with them and so with the boxes. I was expecting broken glasses, scratches on the furniture, etc. but none of that transpired. So If you have to move I would recommend you hire Move-​Pros.

I realize that the moving business is now a dizzying web of contractors and subcontractors, so who knows if when you call «Bekins,» as I did, you will discover that the company is really Wheaton’s now and that if you live in the south San Francisco Bay Area, you may wind up, if you’re lucky, having this independent company move all your stuff. But that’s what happened to me, and I couldn’t be happier. This was a very complicated move, as my stepfather was leaving his home of 51 years in Palo Alto and sending some of his belongings to my brother’s house in San Diego, some to a new home in Seattle and some to my house there. Jackie, who I think owns the company, came out to the house to do an inventory and later seemed to have a photographic memory of what she had seen. She worked with me daily on the phone to coordinate the various components of the move and in the end made everything happen precisely when we needed it to happen. Lauro’s crew, who came to pack everything up and ship my brother’s things to a holding warehouse, was quick, efficient, polite, and very good at their craft. We lost nary a dish nor crystal glass in a move that involved well over 1,000 pieces, many of them fragile and precious. Aaron’s crew, which loaded and unloaded the Seattle stuff, was careful to organize everything so it went to the right place. The price for all this was well within market rates — I got four estimates — and the service was extraordinary. I’d recommend these folks in a heartbeat.

The move crew, Andrew, Christopher and Francisco, were courteous, professional and efficient. They arrived on time and were very accommodating. The office staff (Jeanne) was also very customer service oriented. A good experience from start to finish.

I can’t say enough about how incredible Move-​Pros was! We had to move a large 5 bedroom house and we had a gap of time between the time we had to be out of our current house and into the new home. We thought we would attempt to move ourselves but the process proved to be beyond overwhelming and stressful. We called around to different moving companies and settled on Move-​Pros due to the outstanding customer service and very competitive offer Jeanne Olsen provided us. But I can tell you — without question — we will FOREVER use Move-​Pros due to the OUTSTANDING and UNBELIEVABLE hard work the five gentleman gave when coming to our house. I wish I could remember all their names to give everyone credit publicly! They were so so incredible. From the moment they arrived, every single one of the guys were super friendly, jumped right into what was needed, professional across the board, talkative, engaging but worked HARD. We had a TON to do and they worked harder then any company we have ever hired. Without question — this will be our forever moving company! We were EXTREMELY happy! THANK YOU MOVE-​PROS!

Don’t look any further… this is your moving company. I too worked with Erica and she was right on the money with our quote and I also appreciated the money saving tips. Don’t be afraid to ask her questions. She gives honest answers. I had three movers and I had to start working myself because I felt guilty that they were working so hard. They were very professional and efficient. I made them all ice water and in a two hour period only one of them had a sip. They are really hard workers. I feel bad that I did not give them a tip. BTW… they had to go up and down two flights of stairs and there was not one scratch on the walls. I will definately use them again. They come highly recommended!!!

I was very impressed with the level of service! My only advice to anyone using this company… ‘Box It and they will Move It’. Highly recommended to anyone that has to move with out any help of ‘friends’. Excellent customer service. :0)

Lauro and Elison made our move from the Bay Area so stress free. They were polite and courteous, arrived on time and took great care wrapping our furniture for the move. We had zero damage and they were so helpful in setting up the furniture. exactly as we wanted it. I would highly recommend Move-​Pros for all your moving needs. It is with great confidence and thanks that I write a review for Move-​Pros. My initial consultation instilled confidence in moving my antiques and piano, as well as my precious grand piano, so my choice was made. On move day, the movers were helpful, respectful, and pleasant. I cannot say enough good things about Move Pros and their stellar service!

Used for an interstate move. On the front end, Erica and the estimator were very professional and responsive. But when you move long distance, you never know who you are going to get. They contract a driver who can deal with your schedule and the driver locates help on either end. Despite giving tips to the help and appliances to the driver, every time I see some of the minor damages they caused (severed refrigerator handle, broken upright piano leg and smashed keyboard cover), it gets under my skin. They didn’t seem worth the trouble to report at the time, but in retrospect I should have.
I would still use Move Pros again and recommend them (hence the four stars), because for this type of move you are rolling the dice no matter which company you use. But I would be far less inclined to give tips again because someone will break something without admitting it. It’s not my first interstate move either, so just be forewarned that drivers universally seem to be a somewhat uptight, impatient type, and dealing with them is not necessarily a pleasant experience while you are coping with the stressful situation of moving. In fact, I would say that being nice to them is a tactical mistake.
On the positive side, I had a lot of stuff to move, and some packing at the front end was time consuming, but they did it efficiently and the vast majority of things arrived unscathed. The driver’s company also called to ensure things were going well, so that was a plus as well. The payment, with a not-​to-​exceed bill, was handled without issue, though I was still stressed out over what would happen if the weight exceeded the estimate. The movers at both ends were a bit older and experienced, so it wasn’t like I had to worry about some college kids who didn’t know what they were doing.

Quick, easy, and prompt. Courteous and efficient service. The guys were super nice and accommodating. Also, reasonable price to eliminate the headache of moving.
Only constructive comment is that they tend to just toss everything into boxes with a ton of packing paper should they pack anything for you; try to pack for yourself if you’re really into organization.

Recently moved from Burlingame to Sacramento. Ask for Drew and Chris. They are quick and gentle.
I had such a great experience with these guys. They took care of my stuff, made great time to Sacramento and even better time unloading. I choose to pay per hour and they were very cautious of the clock and made sure I was happy with everything before taking off.
I truly appreciate their service, friendliness and professionalism. I would work with this crew again!

Sure enough, I did another move with these guys. Same guys plus one new guy. Nothing new… Erica is still efficient, the guys are still super friendly and kind, work hard, move fast, and they were very thankful for the donuts and Gatorade I got them. This time they only had to move furniture from a two bedroom 825 sqft home on the second floor to a first floor condo. They disassembled all large furniture quickly, packed up quickly, laid down blankets on the carpet in the new place to keep it clean, and reassembled all large furniture in my new place quickly as well. Like last time, they were on time, called before arriving, and yes, I did help bring furniture downstairs so they could place into the truck. I also had all my boxes packed and ready to go prior to their arrival and had packed up my car.

We moved from Sacramento to Davis CA in October and were very happy with our experience. Alex Muskopf was fantastic. The 3 person crew asked for direction but was focused and efficient. They even cleared out one room first so our young children could stay in a safe spot while they moved the rest of the house.
We have moved 7 times in the past 10 years and this was by far the easiest.
It was a painless day, nothing broken, everyone was happy.

I thought Movepros was a great company reading the reviews, then I found out first hand that it’s pretty much a sham. Maybe others had better luck with them but mine’s a horror story.
I had placed an order with Wayfair and they hired Movepros for my delivery. In early September, my bed was shipped to Movepros and I got a call from Mike. I asked for an email address since my building was strict and required proof of insurance. I sent the email out and got no reply. A couple days later I called Mike and he said his computer was down so he didn’t check his mail (or call me.) We sorted it out and said he’ll take care of the insurance very soon. We set a date for the delivery in the following week.
A few more days pass by and I didn’t hear from him. I called, emailed, and left messages and got no response. After like three days I got a response from him saying the insurance wasn’t ready and we had to reschedule. I was trying to be courteous and flexible, and rescheduled it for another week. At this point they’ve had my bed for two weeks.
Another week past and there were still no progress on the delivery. I played tag again with Mike and got Wayfair involved. They missed the delivery date and Mike said he’s doing all he can and I’ll get my bed soon. At this point I’m just furious and chewing him out, but what can I do? Three weeks in.
Now I’m just calling everyday and leaving messages. I’ve never had such an irresponsible company but they were holding my bed in hostage. One day finally Mike picked up and told me that they weren’t handling my delivery anymore. I was like… da fuq? He told me to sort it out with Wayfair and then the Wayfair guy told me they were transitioning moving companies (good, cuz Movepros doesn’t deserve any business.)
It would have been nice if they had been straightforward to begin with instead of stringing me along. I’ve never dealt with such incompetence and I would caution anyone from working with these folks. It’s been more than a month and I still don’t have my furniture delivered. Thank you Move Pros!

This is a follow up to my review on 9÷17÷13. Move pros booked a debris removal appointment at an extra charge for me, I was willing to pay for it even though it was already included in my payment previously, but I just wanted to get rid of this trash. They called to confirm their appointment for this past Saturday from 1−5pm. NO ONE SHOWED UP, not even a COURTESY PHONE CALL to let me know they are cancelling.
Again, this business does not give a sh*t about customer service and would look for other local movers for less headache.

Again long over due review…
In July I was moving — as stated in other reviews (having to do with moving services), it was a really stressful personal time in my life and moving was about to send me over the edge. I had done research on movers on Unilocal and was super nervous based on some of the reviews I had read. I had never used movers in the 6 moves I’ve done in my lifetime but have decided I’m a grown up now and I’m done moving my own crap.
From the moment I contacted Move Pros I had a great experience. I worked with Erica at their office and she not only emailed me back quickly but also followed up with a phone call to discuss my needs so that she could get my quote as close as possible to what I needed.
Moving day came and they arrived on time and called me prior to arriving to let me know they were on their way. We walked through the house and went through everything that needed to be moved they got started and it actually went by very quick (mind you I’m OCD so pretty much my entire house was packed up in boxes by the door waiting for move day). They asked questions when they weren’t sure about something and always took care to make sure all my furniture was wrapped well so it wouldn’t be damaged. They were very friendly and just made the entire stressful experience much easier to cope with. They also had a great sense of humor!
When we arrived at my new place they got everything in the house and were sure to ask me where I wanted things. They also put together all my furniture (beds, entertainment center, table). In the end they finished under the time we though (about 40 min early) and came in under what they quoted me.
I truly can’t say enough about them, they made an already stressful experience so much easier. I won’t hesitate to call them again for my next move. Their customer service was wonderful and was truly appreciated during a very stressful time in my life.
