Happy Smog Check

I came here for a smog check yesterday and was very satisfied with the service! A few tips that may help you have a similar experience:
I suggest calling ahead, not just to make an appointment, but also to confirm the price. The manager asked my name and the year of my car (2001), and said that it would be $ 40. When you show up for your smog check, be sure to remind the manager of your phone conversation and the stated price. (He may come across as a bit Mr. Fredricksen-​ish at first, but some good humor and a smile go a long way. :)
The specialist who performed my smog check was very efficient and polite as well. I handed over my paperwork, daydreamed for a few minutes on a chair nearby, and had my results in five minutes. Awesome!

This was very convenient off of 880. I came here for gas and was thrilled to see that they could do my star smog check too! There was no wait and it cost less than I would have to pay elsewhere. I tried to go to two other places for the star smog. The first couldn’t take me and the second one didn’t have a working test machine. Third time’s a charm. Happy Smog for sure!

Straight forward, $ 30 for an oil change, getting out in 15 mins. I left my purse in my car and guy kindly says, ma’am your purse, would you like to bring it with you? Awww. So thoughtful ~ will recommend!

I hate when shops don’t keep their word. I called in asking for a quote, the asian-​accented man answered and said one price for everything. then when i get there, he says i have to pay more. couldn’t even keep his word on the phone. :/
Gave it an extra star because the mechanic that did the work was actually a cool guy. The slip says his name is Bryan. He’s a good/​friendly person that truly had customer service skills which I liked, but i’m guessing that asian guy with glasses is the boss? He straight up tried to hustle me.

This is my go to oil change place. I cant say anything about their smog service though. They don’t do any services except oil change and smog checks so you know that you won’t have people here telling you that you need to change your transmission fluid or blinker fluid. The employees there are exactly what you want out of a lube or smog technician; they are fast and efficient and don’t waste your time. It’s $ 15 for an oil change if you bring your own oil and filter. Sure English isn’t their first language, but if you’re in Fremont that’s probably nothing unusual to you.

Although it’s not pretty, and English is a 2^nd maybe 3^rd language, I was treated fairly and it seemed like he was honest. I stopped by bc I was in shopping center and when I came to pickup my car 15 minutes later he pointed out a problem. The threads were damaged and as a result my oil now leaked. I told him how I felt and that my oil wasn’t leaking before I got there 20 minutes ago. He said Ok, I won’t charge you. I told him I would go get it fixed and he made the right decision. I plan on getting my oil changed there from now on. Great customer service.

This place was quick and easy on a Saturday morning. $ 65 I was in and out in 30 minutes.

The old Asian guy ripped me off. I brought in a competitor coupon and he said he would accept it. When he rang me up, he wanted to charge me $ 10 extra bucks on top of the normal price + cert. Unfortunately, I had to get my smog test done ASAP and had no choice but to pay.
Another bad experience from one of my family members. My uncle came to this place to get his smog done and apparently, it failed and they wanted to charge him to re-​test!!! He left and had another smog test done at another test only station. Guess what happened? He passed. The 2^nd shop called Happy Smog Check and told them to refund my uncle’s money otherwise they would report Happy Smog to the DMV.
Shady place for sure! Don’t go here.

I’ve had a smog check and two oil changes done here on three separate occasions. The guys are honest, quick and don’t try to sell you services you don’t necessarily need (unlike a super shady place across from Safeway in Irvington that I had the unfortunate chance of experiencing once).

Went here to get my car smogged. Great service and no wait. They had a special going on and was able to take advantage of it. The oil change was quick and cheaper compare to all other. Definitely coming back here for the next oil change.

Originally told me $ 45 on the phone and changed the price to $ 60 once I got there so ended up getting bait and switched. Paid extra since I was already there, would go to the shop on mission Blvd around the corner next which also offers free re-​tests instead of just $ 10 off a retest like Happy Smog. High price, crappy service, would suggest going elsewhere. If you have a modified car they will also make a big deal over aftermarket parts even thought they are legal. They flagged my car as modified in the DMV system when it was not.

They are ok. Here is the trick. Call them to CONFIRM the price you want to pay. I paid $ 50 for the WHOLE thing. I have a sedan. He quoted me $ 41 + $ 9 =$ 50. I think it was ok. When I got there and the guy wrote for $ 60, I then told him someone told me the quote on the phone was $ 50, then he changed the price. Well, it took me about 15 minutes and no wait, that is the thing i like, even they are not the cheapest, but it was fast. Mu other 2 cents, make sure your car does not need the be repair after the smog, because i am not sure how reliable/​good they really are on fixing the problem.
Pro: fast

$ 60 out the door for a smog test of an aging sentra. Not the cheapest, but it was no haggle, no appointment and I was in and out in literally 10 minutes.

5 stars from me for Happy Smog, near my house so after seeing the killer deal offered on Unilocal,I went here today for my smog test and oil change. $ 40 for the smog and $ 20 for the oil change. Make sure to get the ok from the boss as the technician who helped me tried to charge me more and was surprised I was getting such a deal. hopefully he gave me a good oil change.

It’s inside a 76 gas station on Warm Springs Blvd. (next to Walgreens and Bank of America). A Vietnamese family owned business since 2007. Very quick and friendly service on the smog. ($ 40 incl. CA fee) See Chuong if you have questions. Make sure he gets the nod on the $ 40 before you hand him your car.
The price for an oil change is $ 20 (4 cyl only).
Note: This is test & repair AND test only station, but they only accept VISA/​MC. (sigh)

Aww poop — wish i would have checked here before to see the special coupon. This place is right by my work — and I had to get my car smogged so i just drove by and saw that it was a test only station.
They gave me a price up front — around 60 bucks total with my certificate. Told me it would take 1o minutes — i walked to safeway to get something — came back and it was done.

Quick and friendly smog check service. In and out in about 10 minutes. Since it is a «test» only shop, thus the on site technician will not fail your car deliberately so that he could charge you more for the repair.
It is convenient located in a nice Warmspring /​Mission neighborhood shopping center with Postal office, Safeway, Walgreen, FedEx, banks and some fast food restaurants. If you do not want to wait in case there is a line, you can simple drop off your car and run errands and come back to pick up your car. Save time for those that always on the run.
One suggestion is to do your pricing research and bring the ad; they honor other station’s coupon.
