Oh gosh… I knew I should have listened to the reviews… that’s all I have to say… oh and fml! Never again! Ratchet

This billing office for Dr. Shakira Karipineni is very disorganized. They have been sending me a bill which I had written a check back last year. To this day, they are sending me a bill. It is not my problem if their administrative office is disorganized and cannot keep track of the payments that come in. On top of that, the individiual responsible for their billing is on vacation for a whole month with no body else as back-​up. VERY IRRESPONSIBLE. This office is a joke and shouldn’t be doing business.

This doctor deserves zero stars for what a horrible doctor and a person that she is. She ruined my experience of becoming a new mother. Destroyed it. She made the decision to induce me for no reason other than for her convenience. She had the nurses do it, while she wasn’t even present at the hospital. When the nurses kept trying to call her after the initial conversation with her and when things were going wrong with my delivery, she just wasn’t coming to the hospital. I wish I were assertive enough to question this doctors stupid, and negligent decisions back then. My unborn child and I were in distress for hours and she wouldn’t show up. My water wasn’t breaking and my baby had passed meconium and was undelivered still for another about 13 hours, while I was getting sicker and sicker as hours went by. Finally after 20 hrs of labour going bad, she shows up. By then I was fainting and that its too late for C-​section and to either push him out right then or we will lose him. He was born with low oxygen, high blood pressure and hospitalized in NICU right away. This woman, recommended by her brother, Dr. Bhaig, ruined our beautiful experience of becoming new parents. My son was immediately admitted after birth. I didn’t even get to hold him and he was rushed out to the NICU. My son never really recovered from the birth trauma. Then a year later ended up in the ICU. When I went to get pregnancy and delivery records from this doctors office, I read that she lied on the report and mentioned nothing about my new born being in the NICU. She lied in the report and said it was a normal delivery. Then when I got terribly sick from child birth and got an infection, she yelled at me for getting sick, on her own yelling and claiming that it’s not her fault and all my fault for getting sick. She is a horrible person and a doctor. Every doctor will be a better doctor then her. Stay as far away as possible from Dr. Shakira Karipineni.

Dr. Shakira Karipineni. I went to her 7 years back as I was struggling to get pregnant. She did ultrasound and said that I have endometriosis and I need to schedule laparoscopic surgery to remove that to get pregnant. I came home and bought two books on endometriosis and found out that if I undergo surgery it will dramatically decrease my chances of getting pregnant. Note that Karipineni did not check the fallopian tubes, she did not check that I was ovulation or not, just concluded in one ultrasound that I need surgery. So I consulted another fertility specialist who advised that endometriosis cannot be just detected with ultrasound and surgery can make me infertile forever. She is the worst doctor I have ever seen.
Now I have three kids, without any medical procedure done. Karipineni could have made me infertile forever.

I saw Dr. Karipineni years ago for fibroids. I liked her at first. She performed a D&C in her office without any numbing. It hurt so bad I almost fainted. She told me basically to buck up and that she was almost done. I finally ended up having a hysterectomy a month later which she performed. I was pleased with her skill as a surgeon and I healed quickly. Follow up visits were laced with talk of God which I thought was a little inappropriate but she wasn’t overly preachy. Later, someone I know well advised that when she went for a pap & exam at Dr. Karipineni’s office, Dr. Karipineni advised her that God didn’t want her having sex without being married. Upon hearing this, I switched gynocologists. She oversteps her bounds.

Dr Karinpini was so rude and actually asked me what I wanted her to do when I told her I was having severe pain. Then she said it couldn’t be that bad because I went to see her instead of the ER.
Btw. I was referred to her by an urgent care dr who has since apologised for sending me there.
But that’s just the beginning! She says «I guess I can exam you but I doubt if I can feel anything because you have too much fat.»
This was after she told me to take my pants off and when I wasn’t going fast enough, she clapped rappidly and said «Come on, Come on!»
She made me lay back and then presses extremely aggressively on my pelvic area. By this time I was crying.
Then she put my knees up and forced them open so hard my left hip popped. Then she gave me the most painful (and fast) PAP I’ve ever had. I bled and spotted for hours. Which has never happened before. When she was done, I asked her to use the bathroom. She said,“yeah yeah yeah” while making a shooing motion with her hand.
While waiting for «paperwork» in the waiting, I continued to wipe my uncontroable tears. I felt like I had been abused and thrown away by a DOCTOR!
Before leaving I heard her screaming at her staff about booking appoints to far apart. She wanted them only in the am so she didn’t have to come back.
I’ve been advised to contact the license people. We’ll see what happens. Please don’t put yourself through the emotional and physical pain this so called dr causes.

Oh how I wish I had read these Unilocal reviews for «OB/​GYN Doctor» Shakira B. Karipineni, MD, FACOG BEFORE seeing her. Alas, we often learn best by experience.
Let me be explicitly clear: DO NOT EVER GO TO SHAKIRA KARIPINENI — EVER. SHE SHOULD BE BANNED FROM HER PRACTICE — IMMEDIATELY!!!
Let me go through some of the low-​lights of my seriously traumatizing experience:
1. Karpineni yelled at her staff in the lobby, in front of staff and patients. Her assistant later said «it’s not like it’s the first time today…» and implied it wouldn’t be last time either.
2. Ask me «Why do you have so many (partners)?» when asking me about my sexual history.
3. Shamed me for declining *gonorrhea and chlamydia antibiotics WITHOUT lab results, saying, «it is standard that we treat it ALL for someone with your sexual activity.» *NOTE: Turns out I had a very common yeast Infection. No STD’s. At all. I’ve never had any STD’s before either, btw.
4. Asked pointedly, «you’re Christian aren’t you?!» Then gave me a RELIGIOUS SPEECH about «there’s only one god & he has rules we must obey… do the right things…» etc.
5. She gave me a «breast exam» with MY BRA STILL ON. Yeah.
6. Told me «you are making your life more difficult with all these things.» upon asking more questions about my sexual history, gender of partners, etc.
7. Her last words to me were «don’t have sex.» then after a long pause added, «Unless it’s with condoms, as you already do.» Um yeah. Exactly. How dare she.
What I’m sharing is extremely personal, which is why it’s taken me 2 weeks to Unilocal this horrific experience. NO ONE deserves this brand of «bad medicine».
I only take solace in the strength of fellow Unilocalers to have spoken up about Shakira B. Karipineni since 2007. Yeah. That long.
SHE MUST BE REPORTED — and if she already has been, she must be AGAIN & AGAIN UNTIL SHE IS REMOVED FROM HER PRACTICE. PERIOD.

Why is she a doctor! She is a quack. DO NOT GO TO HER. Lacks manners. In words of a senior member of my family — «She is fit to deliver devils and ghosts, not humans».
She used to share the facility with a brother (Dr. Khalid Baig) of hers, who is another idiot. My daughter had to get a whole set of injections again, just because he misplaced medical records. Thanks to Unilocal!I can share my experiences about these two quacks.

I had a bad experience. Dr. Karipineni is rushed in her approach, has sub-​par bedside manner (she had her back to me the whole time), doesn’t explain what she’s doing when she’s examining you or discuss your condition in any depth. She seems like a nice woman, and I’m sure she is, but I would not recommend her as a doctor.
Her assistant is almost impossible to talk to. She appears eager to get off the phone when calling to schedule an appointment and is curt and terse when responding to questions.
I switched doctors after my horrible experience here and apparently Dr. Karipineni hadn’t taken adequate notes, as all doctors are supposed to do when they give you a pelvic exam. My new doctor had nothing to look to, and it also took at least 3 – 4 calls to even get Deccan Pacific to send over any records they may have had.

I had Dr. Shakira Karipineni as my OB/​GYN while pregnant. I had to deal with her and the facility (Deecan) for up to my 5^th month and I must say it was not a peaceful experience. Since I have no maternity coverage on my health insurance, she was very accommodating in prices for her services.
I have no problem with the facility. Rather the facility is pretty nice. This place actually has their own ultrasound equipment and doesn’t send you to some other lab/​facility to have it done… but maybe they should. No one at their site is trained to work such an advanced piece of equipment. I asked to hear my babies heart beat with the ultrasound and she told me «I don’t know how to do that.»
That sort of comment seemed to be the norm from her. Every time I expressed a concern, she completely disregarded it or did not have a clue what I was saying (not a language barrier either). She is very quick to prescribe prescription drugs even when pregnant and disregards fears that you express taking them (since pregnant). I got a really bad cold/​sinus infection and she prescribed me 3 – 4 different medicines! One of which was a Pregnancy grade C drug (which for pregnant people is a big NO NO!)!!!
If you do not have health insurance, her prices are very reasonable… but remember that you’re paying for the service that you’re getting. I’m just thankful that I ended up getting insurance that will cover my maternity care and now, have the freedom to choose a different doctor. Oh by the way, I gave it two stars instead of one because I did really love her assistant. Her assistant was very sweet and knowledgeable.

I had doctor Kilaru (sp) perform surgery to re-​attach a tendon in my finger. The doctor ended up cutting in my palm and all up and down the digit. I went to therapy religiously but when the therapist removed the stitches only 2 weeks after my surgery AND massaged the wound open~ as she was preoccupied with a conversation with another therapist (I told her she was massaging under my skin but she denied this and kept on rubbing my open wound) I had to go back to the doctor with my tendon EXPOSED all along my finger. I have some pictures if you would like to see them (message me for details). I went in with what looked like a paper cut and came out with a terribly scarred and painful right hand. The doctor admits he has never seen anything like this in his years of hand surgery and he suggests ANOTHER surgery. This is after I have already taken a month off work for the first surgery. I said no and have been working my own stretch therapy on my hand with good results (and I love how the doc tells me if I don’t have the 2^nd surgery my finger will curl up and it will be useless.)
