Century House and Gardens

Best place to host any kind of party for any occasion! I’ve had my engagement party here, had my baby shower and now I’m having my daughters first birthday party here. They’re very professional and they don’t tend to double book people like other venues.

I had my wedding in September and everything looked beautiful. I really loved how my wedding turned out except the food. I paid for 100 people and the food ran out way before 100 people ate. So they had to make more and my 20 – 30 people had to wait 30 minutes to get there food. That was stressing me out because I paid catering so I won’t have to worry about my food and they still manage to stress me out. The bartender and two of the younger woman serving and picking up were really nice and in a good mood. There was this older woman that was in a bad mood and with a bad attitude I didn’t like the way she was acting. She was being very rude, a lot of my guest notice as well. But other than the food and that catering lady everything turned out beautiful just how I planned!

Beautiful venue, delicious food and wonderful owners what more can I say? I had my engagement party at Century House last August and I have two more parties this summer. I’m very excited, they provide amazing service and make sure your event is a success. :)

Had a retirement party at Century House. Food was wonderful and employees were friendly and efficient. Room looked lovely.

We hosted a large get together for New Years Eve 2014 at Century House and Garden. The staff were warm and welcoming and super accommodating with our party which ended up with over 200 guests. The food was tasty, served beautifully and refilled constantly which left everyone satisfied. The staff worked hard to ensure that they met our needs and were flexible in every way in order to ensure our event was a huge success. The ambiance is wonderful and the grounds are very pretty too though we didn’t get to enjoy that aspect since it was an evening event. I would honestly recommend Century House and Garden to anyone wanting a large size beautifully appointed banquet hall in the Fremont area with ample parking, great ambiance and terrific food and service.

I was the photographer for a wedding that took place at Century House and Gardens (ceremony, reception, & all). The pagoda outside was beautifully decorated by the staff, and I believe some of the great dishes served were catered by Century House too.
The couple I was working with had many guests attending (around 50 – 100).
Pros
+ Great decorations and dining experience
+ The food was great — carnitas, fresh corn tortillas, grilled chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, salad, large green peppers, salsa. Dessert too!
+ Rooftop access for great views of the ceremony.
+ Free soft drinks and water at the bar.
+ Staff was mostly helpful and positive — very good service.
Cons
— No free alcohol =P but you can buy a beer and other drinks with CC/​cash
— Small venue. The main stage could only accommodate four pairs of traditional Mexican dancers. I remember it was very crowded otherwise.
— Restrooms for one person only (men/​women)… Queue expected

Its a nice indoor outdoor local wedding site with a larger parking area. Perfect for wedding and party photos.

They do not care if they have your business, they do not communicate with you.
I went in saw the area its nice, Its cheap, as I was there the event planner was telling me how she would plan everything an it all sounded lovely. At the end of our meeting she told me she was going to email me all types of information with pricing an so on! Except that it NEVER happened, I gave her some time so I waited 4days before emailing her asking about the information, I understand that she may be busy an can’t remember everything which is fine, but when I emailed her an she told me she wanted me to come back in to talk about all the information we had already talked about I was getting mad! So I explained that we already talked about it an I needed to know how much I was spending so I needed her to send over all the information. She never did! After ALOT of back an forth I decide this place is NOT worth the stress!

Had my heart set on this place as soon as I found it on Unilocal and saw it in person! The venue is a decent size banquet hall and beautiful back garden with 2 cute fountains surrounded with flowers and a white gazebo that is perfect for ceremony. There is also plenty of parking available. This place is perfect for an outdoor ceremony in back garden and reception in the banquet hall. It lended a homely cozy ambience for an intimate event that is marriage. The coordinator Abida is really sweet and nice person and made the whole experience pleasant and fun for me and my husband. We came to see her so many times for various details and requests and each time she was available, cooperative and of invaluable help to us. It made the most important day of our life memorable and special. My husband and I would highly recommend this venue for weddings!

Very unorganized, the owners are unprofessional. The kitchen was filthy! We rented this for a wedding and the floors were sticky and dirty you can ell they were NOT CLEAN. The owners was disputing an additional dish that there recent employee who quit gave us. The contract was for 120 chairs, the day of we counted and there were only 80 chairs, something they did not share with us. When asked about this the response I got was they only had 80 avbl! Not sure why they would accept payment and charge for 120 knowing they only have 80 chairs avbl? Lastly, the meat was pink inside.
We were scrambling last minute, looking to borrow chairs. I would not recommend this place, only if you are looking as a last resort and do not mind dealing unorganization. unsatisfaction and getting ripped off.
FYI– I believe the great reviews from 2010 and prior was when this place was owned by a different person.

I had a birthday event at this place. The place is very nice, spacious, great food and the owners are accommodating. They will do their best to make sure their guests are happy. The food is really good and service is excellent. The place is good for birthdays, weddings, graduation and similar events. The good thing is that Century House has an international menu. I would recommend this place to my friends.

This place is straight whack. It does not have a romantic feel to it at all and the outside is just a joke. It’s near a main street and a ton of other places. My fiancé and I were looking for wedding venues and she saw this online, but in person it is below shabby. I saw dead roaches on the surrounding part of the building and lots of litter. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this place and the diner next door.

I had my wedding reception in October and everything turned out beautiful in the banquet hall. The manager and staff were so accommodating and my husband and I couldn’t complain. The owner, who we totally respected was such a great hep to us and always had a positive attitude about the event. Our guests had a great time and told us that everything was beautiful. I highly recommend this place for any event you may have and we will definitely use this place again in the future.

My husband I recently wed here over the weekend and I have to say, our experience @ Century House was simply pleasant and memorable. At first I was a little skeptical about having the wedding here but I am sure glad I didn’t change my mind. I was first introduce to one of the wedding coordinator there who supposedly had been there for years and as it turns out a few months within signing the agreement for the venue, she resigned and I was never informed as a few months had passed. Either or, I am glad everything happened the way it did because that was when I was introduce to my wedding coordinator who is also the wedding banquet manager (there at Century), Kathy.
Kathy and Obaida (owner of the venue) working side by side and was able to meet my expectations. I was able to tell them what I want and Kathy was able to delegate and made sure that it will happen from the wedding rehearsal to the wedding ceremony and onto the reception. Kathy definitely made me feel at ease and alleviated some of the wedding anxieties.
Just a few things I would suggest for this amazing hidden gem to perfect the venue:
— Bridal room: (Thanks Kathy for hooking us up with a nice big size room for the bridal party to change) Chairs in place for the bridal party and a MIRROR is a must (we brought our own)
— Garden Ceremony: I was a little disappointed that the water fountain was not turned on during the ceremony but instead during dinner reception when everyone was inside. Please turn on your cute little fountains! ALso another suggestions was just a few fixtures on the stairway and patio… no biggie, we were able to cover it up with the aisle runner and our favor table w/​the linens over it. but it would have been nice if we didn’t have to. A few junk was hidden around by the shed which is next to the patio area, my biggest suggestion would be to simply just clean it up or cover it. A bunch of old wood and chairs, not so attractive, but luckily it was further away from my guests where they did not care to hang out in that area. NEW CHAIRS FOR THE WEDDING CEREMONY as I had to order my own garden chairs from a party rental vendor since the one that was provided was a little dirty and rusty looking.
–Indoors in the banquet room: a few lighting fixtures and cracks by the light switch close to the bar. Maybe consider redoing the bar counter, as it appears a little rugged and old. It’ll probably help to live up the place a little esp for Sharon the bartender (sweet lady).
Other than that, a few hiccups here and there but its the inevitable when it comes to weddings. My overall experience between1−10 would be an 8.5. I’m a fan :)!

Horrible Experience. This place is so difficult to deal with. The food ran out after my cousins wedding party and it was really embarrasing… Not good customer at all. They made the bare minimum on everything and then said there was nothing they could do about it. Also, have been to other parties there and it has been a bad experience. Either cold food, not enough food or just plain bad food. The garden is also a joke… Please do your due dilligence prior to choosing this place.
I would give negative stars if I could.

I had my graduation party at Century House. It was a glad surprise to see that the outside of the building was recently painted also the wood floor in the main hall was new it look very nice, it was a plus.
All my guest enjoyed the party, the food and the service, the price is very reasonable and affordable, the owners gave us a very good discount !
Some of my guest went outside to the gardens to smoked, they all comment that it look so nice and peaceful that one of them would like to celebrate his wedding party at this place.

My sister recently had her wedding reception here recently. So disappointing.
My biggest problem was that she was promised a room to change in and get ready prior to the reception, a pretty basic request for a wedding and the people at Century House did say it would be available. As we enter the venue, there are people still cleaning from the stench of the morning before (insert gross smell here). Meanwhile, no one could find or call anyone to open the bridal room (the extra room). We ended up having to get ready in the bathroom, thanks for keeping it classy Century House.
They’re pretty arrogant at recognizing their shortcomings. Thus, while the pictures are nice on Unilocal,if you want to guarantee satisfaction, you should keep looking.

We reserved the Century House for our April 24^th wedding reception. We were very fortunate to find a place that combines catering, service staff and facilities at an amazing price without sacrificing style and taste. We preferred a dedicated facility as opposed to a room out of a restaurant for a more intimate experience. Adriana is the event coordinator for the facility. Her dedication to meeting our needs was top notch.
She also does flowers… and does them VERY well! Modern, tasteful and creative arrangements graced all of our tables. Bouquets and boutonnières matched our theme and colors beautifully!
Our guests were raving about the appetizers, entrees and side dishes. Everything tasted fantastic!
The facility was easilyable to seat our 170 guests. They have a nice lawn area which can be used for the ceremony with ample space for guests. Although we did not use the facility for our ceremony, it made for a nice area for our pictures and for our guests to go outside and relax. Their dancefloor was adequately sized for the room, allowing for a DJ’s equipment setup with room for guests to dance and not bump elbows while they do it. They have a HUGE parking lot in the rear for ALL of your guests to park!
Cheers to Adriana, the Chef and crew, bartender and service staff. You guys did an amazing job taking care of us both and our guests. We will remember your great work for years to come!

I had my wedding reception at the Century House and this place is beautiful when it is decorated! It took my breath away when I walked in and my friends and family had put out candles, etc. We had a lot of fun at this place and they were very accommodating letting us set up a poker table and Wii game.
The only reason I’m giving them a 4 stars, because there were some hiccups with the logistics… it didn’t ruin my day, but it was a little annoying. For example, I order an extra sheet cake and nobody knows what happened to that thing… I didn’t get any leftover cake, that is good for my waistline, but I paid A LOT of money for that cake! They really don’t like it when you have any requests out of the ordinary, like trying to fit in an appearance by a busy Elvis impersonator…
