I love and hate this place at the same time. The burgers are really good but the service is hands down the worst I have ever encountered. So incredibly slow and completely inept. It’s not a matter of if they will get things wrong it’s how much. It’s pretty clear the owner is either oblivious or just doesn’t care based on these terrible reviews. Word of advice: don’t use the drive thru. You are just going to have to pull around so they can complete your order or so you can get the items they forgot.

Honestly I’d gone here in the past and never had any issues… Well, until this last Saturday. So the posted hours say the dining area closes at 10pm, we arrived at 9:41pm and both doors were locked. Knocked, they just looked at us and did nothing. So we were basically«ok, rude much?» Since we were hungry we used the drive-thru instead. We were the only ones there, ordered an A5 combo, to-go cup and some cheese curds. Took them almost 10 friggn minutes to serve just us, the food was kinda just tossed to us and when i asked if that was everything, i was ignored and had to ask 3 times. The guy just kinda said«ye» and went back to ignoring us. Well he lied because we got home and they completely didn’t give us the to-go cup. We went back to the drive thru and nobody freaking even answered us this time. Pissed, we went home to eat and the food was SWIMMING in grease! I tried to eat it and was up all night with an upset stomach. NEVER going back there again!

wish i could leave negative stars!!! I had one of the worst experiences ever at the kfc/a&w tonight. The service at the location at 37149 Fremont blvd, in Fremont CA is usually sub par, but tonight took the cake. I walked in, and waited literally 4 minutes before anyone greeted me at the register, during this time numerous employees walked by, looked at me and continued about their business. once i was asked for my order, i ordered two chicken pot pies, a large cheese curds, 10 corndog nuggets, and 2 floats. after paying, they said they would call me when it was ready. 9 minutes later the cashier put a bag on the counter behind the register, and told me if i wanted pot pise it would be 22 minutes. I decided that was fine. 31 minutes later the handed me two pot pies, 2 melted floats he had poured as soon as i paid, yet kept behind the counter, and the bag from behind the counter. I asked if the bag was my cheese curds and corndogs, he said yes. I asked if they had really been sitting there in the bag for over 30 minutes, and he said«yea, why?» I asked if I could get fresh food that hadnt been sitting for over 40 minutes, He said«The pot pies are fresh, what else do you want?» I asked for a manager and someone else, im Pretty sure one of his high school pals, not a manager told me i could have fresh food«but you will have to pay again» I told them that was ridiculous and was told if i wanted fresh corndogs there was a derwienersnitzel across the parking lot. This was the absolute worst service I have ever seen, and I drove truck across the country for 10 years!

There root beer float tasted like a can of fish, I was good poisoned for about a week and threw up. I would sue but that takes too long and too much money. I don’t know if there employees have a personal grudge on random customers but they for sured messed with my drink, I was polite and nice. I don’t understand why someone would do that, maybe because I came right before they closed but that still is unacceptable. I would not recommend there fast food, period.

Went to A&W on a Friday night to get my nephews some rootbeer floats and they close at 930pm. Sign says 10pm and the drive through window is open and this kid named antione is acting like he doesn’t here me. The drive though had other cars lined up. Real ghetto I’ll spread the word as much as I can. If I ever need to I Will never walk into an A&W again or buy there products in any store again. Don’t eat junk food anyways. Place looked like it was crawling with hepatitis anyways.

Got food through the drive thru. Wasn’t very busy but took a long time. Young kid at the drive thru kept forgetting the order. My boyfriend ordered root beer float and I ordered the Oreo polar swirl which were delicious. However my boyfriend had the chili hot dog which my boyfriend did not enjoy, the bread tasted stale and the hotdog and chili were very artificial tasting. Price was reasonable, would recommend the floats and ice cream.

Hope management and the owner reads this !!! When I went in today they had 4 workers there and just ignored me and my wife who stood at the counter waiting to be served for over 12 minutes, I know we were seen, but no one acknowledged us. What a bad attitude of the workers and a total disregard and non care about customers, we will never return and believe me I will be telling all my friends NOT to waste time even thinking of going to this restaurant. also noticed no one eating in there. Wonder why

Tonight our large floats had just about one tablespoon of ice cream in them. Over 8 bucks for two large root beers, it can’t be called a float. A rip off.

So… their burgers are decent for a fast food place, but their night shift workers are terrible. They have either ran out of items on the menu /refuse to make a fresh batch or they mess up the night orders. So annoying.

We don’t come here very often because they always seem to be out of everything(you know, like chicken). Half the time, they don’t tell us until we get to the window to pay — «We ran out of breasts, so we just put in some chicken strips instead. That’s OK, right?» The other half of the time, they tell us they don’t have what we want and suggest that we just take what they have — «We don’t have enough for a 10 piece, but we do have six. Do you want that? How about you just order that?» This happened last night, and we were tired of this place not giving a crap about keeping common items on-hand and decided to go somewhere else. Well, guess what? The person in front of us ordered a bucket of chicken that apparently wasn’t ready, so we were stuck behind them for another five minutes(at least). Say, if you don’t have what I want to order and there’s already someone blocking the exit for the next five minutes, why don’t you just make the damn food I ordered instead of telling me to get something else? Ever since this became a hybrid A&W/KFC, it’s been awful. The only good thing there is the fresh root beer. The food and service are awful. And yes, I’m aware that I’m complaining about a KFC, but sometimes when you’re tired, you want something a little better than a burger and fries. And they really should train employees to start a new batch of an item when they run out of it. It’s common sense.

Slowest service ever… came here with two young boys for our free root beer float, and two large fries as waited 20 + minutes. The man at the counter took my order in a very unfriendly way, no smile or nothing. He then asked my name and wrote it on my recipt, then kept the reciept so he could call my name when the order came. It wasn’t busy, I mean, there were plenty of customers, but it should have been really easy to handle. Also I saw people who ordered after me getting served before me. I realize this is not a five star restaurant or anything, but my expectations weren’t that high to begin with– I just wanted my fast food, well… fast. Especially with two kids and a simple order, 20 minutes or more for fries and shakes is unnecessary. I won’t return.

This KFC/A&W is at the confluence of a lot of other fast food restaurants. There is a Wienerschnitzel, Carl’s Jr and Taco Bell right next door. I was pleasantly surprised by how good the drive through service was. Very clear, very polite and professional. They have done a good job with hiring young motivated employees. The food was well… KFC. So pretty standard fare. I got my favorite item here which is the chicken pot pie and the also picked up some warm cookies. Would be have been 3 stars but bumping up for the polite service.

Went to this KFC/A&W fast food place to get my FREE small root beer float on National Root Beer Float Day Tuesday, August 6, 2013. It’s in the Centerville area on Fremont Blvd just up the ways from Thorton Ave. I missed the turn, so turned into the church parking lot & exited to park on the street. Didn’t want my car towed. The small root beer float had a little bit of ice cream & about 16oz of root beer. I ate most of the ice cream which is the cheap soft serve kind, & took a few sips of the root beer. Some daily specials I saw on the door: Mon: chicken & corn $ 2.99 plus tax Tue: buy one Papa Burger get one FREE Wed: chicken pot pie $ 2.99 plus tax You can also join their A&W Text Club to receive a FREE Papa Burger single — simply text«Burger» to 70626.

This place looks and feels more like an A&W than a KFC, which is a good thing, but the menu is split about 50⁄50. They try and throw you back in time with a little old fashioned décor and music. Since I hadn’t had A&W food in years, I went with a double cheeseburger combo and ordered it without the cheese. They handed me a cup so I could enjoy some of that root beer while I waited for my order. After about ten minutes they call my name, I go to the counter to pick up my tray and eat. They were quite generous with the ketchup packets, and soon I will discover why. The burger tasted like it was smothered in mustard, so I really needed that ketchup to equalize the taste, so it tasted pretty good then. The fries were dried out, so no prize there. They keep the place cleaner than most fast food places, I didn’t see one dirty table or anything on the floor. Next time I will try something from the KFC half.

OMG I HATETHISKFC/A&W! You know a place is no bueno when you have been trained to double check your order upon receipt(since they never get it right) and are surprised you’ve received passable service for once instead of the usual crappy variety. UGH. So here’s my gripe: 1) They will give you straight up burnt chicken and have no remorse in doing so 2) They NEVER provide you with any condiments or napkins unless you bring it up 3) Floats are all root beer with a pitiful plop of self serve 4) WTF —– your menu shows a soda when you buy a combo, amirite? Why do you never ever EVER give me a soda while still charging me for the whole shebang? Writing this is making me anger. I feel like I need to go complain to corporate right now. I just might.

This KFC is attached with an A&W Rootbeer. It use to be just a KFC, then they upgraded and remolded adding an A&W. It’s located on Fremont Blvd, situated by many various other fast food places(Taco Bell, Wienerschnitzel, Carl’s Jr and like a block down, Jack In The Box. The location itself is pretty nice, the inside that is. It is a very modern KFC/A&W, with booth seating and very nice atmosphere look inside. It’s looks clean as a whole but the tables are sticky and yeah… but hey it’s a fast food place what do you expect… lol. This seems to be a very popular KFC, because when I come, they are always out of a certain type of chicken, meaning you’ll have to wait for a certain type. The chicken here is okay, nothing special, just your typical KFC chicken haha. Customer Service is alright. Some of my friends worked here when I visit come to this place, not sure if they still work here or not but, service here okay here, nothing special. Typical fast food service, although they are nice. Shout Out to Ron and Zarina for top notch service here! :) Apple Turnovers, are sooo delicious, and better than McDonald’s! Cheaper as well, here it’s 2 for 1.49, versus, McDonald’s, where they charge $ 1.00 each. Chicken Pot Pie, Wednesday Special, $ 2.99. Very good and pretty decent size. It has great meat portion inside, although it definitely, can be considered a bit salty for some people’s taste. It’s either this KFC or the other KFC on Alvarado, in Union City.
