I am completely shocked by all the reviews for this place!!! Me and my boyfriend LOVE going to restaurants with live music. We were on the Nautical Mile and we saw Hudsons and decided to check it out. WELOVEDIT! The staff sat us right away, and we got a table outside because it was really nice out. My boyfriend got a Basil Mojito that was SOOOGOOD, and I got a «MaliBlue Fishbowl» which was great because there were refills and I got to keep the cup! For appetizers, I am extremely picky about my grilled octopus as I have tried it at many places and only like it from certain ones, but there’s was great! So much flavor, not rubbery, and the chickpea salad was great! Frank also wanted to try the stuffed avocado, which I have never seen anywhere, and it was FANTASTIC!!! We each got our own Half and there was more than enough crabmeat inside, a perfect starter if you ask me! For dinner, I ordered the Seafood Fra’Diavolo, which was absolutely excellent, and Frank got the Steak tidbit sandwich which was great — such a great value we got to have left overs for the next day!!! Our server was fantastic, also! Very attentive and wanted to make sure we had everything we needed. When we were done eating we sat at the bar to listen to the band, and it was a fantastic evening. Bar tenders were extremely attentive and friendly! Had such a great night we may even become regulars!!!

I came here on father’s day with my dad and my brother and have to say the food and wait to get our food wasn’t that great. The first issue we had is none of us could order the surf and turf as they ran out of filet mignon. I understand it was a busy day but cmon now it’s a dish that is probably ordered all the time. Then we waited a good 45 minutes for our food to come out and when it did we were less than pleased. My brothers salmon was dry and overcooked and his rice was bland with no seasoning. My clam bake was overcooked to the point where my lobster and scallops were dry and barely edible. Thank God my dad’s steak was good for him because if it wasn’t I would have made a scene. My brother complained about his food and the only thing the manager did was offer him more vegtables on the house. Our waitress was really nice through the whole process with telling us the kitchen was backed up so that is the only reason I am not giving them 1 star. I will not be back here ever again to eat dinner.

This was the worst food I’ve ever eaten in a restaurant. Ever. The meals descriptions are far off. The food is tasteless and lifeless. The prices are greedy. The service staff was nice. Wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy. It is truly terrible food.

I so wish I could give you 4 stars bc I didn’t have high expectations and just wanted a decent meal with my family on Father’s Day: 1) restaurant situated in a cool ass busy spot across the street from Braccos.(when u come to Freeport, this is the atmosphere u should expect. 2) outside/inside seating seems cool. people watching — highly entertaining while u sit. 3) great loud music blasting from all over the place(it’s Freeport in the summer so I don’t get all other criticisms for loud music that’s what the mile is all about!) 4) cool ass restaurant décor & vibe & valet parking is def a plus in this busy area. 5)weather is just right/restaurant had the a/c & the door of the balcony opened. U had a great combo of the breeze & cool temp! 6)seating party of 8 went smoothly. 7)the waitress whom I’m guessing was pregnant, really worked her butt off to accommodate so I greatly appreciate that! but I need to keep it real with my fellow Unilocalers & my reasoning behind the 3 stars: 1)it seemed like there were plenty of staff on board working but the staff seemed somewhat poorly organized. It was really difficult to get someone’s attention.(perhaps bc we were situated on the top floor which seemed like could’ve been a private party room) 2)ordered our drinks and appetizers, Some of our appetizers never made it to the table and our entrees which took forever to get to the table made it before some of our apps so when asked, we were told they ran out of raw oysters«ok, no problem» was my response. But the raw littleneck clams which we also ordered were never mentioned & never made it to our table but we were charged for both oysters($ 20) plus the clams($ 17) was charged on our check in the end. Could’ve been an oversight but should I have been one of those customers who don’t pay attention to my bill, I would’ve been charged an extra $ 37 for something We never ate! 3)the cocktails our table ordered were somewhat watered/or juiced down w hardly any alcohol.(if that’s the case and you’re a bit cheap w/the alcohol, give me a larger glass, give me more ice & juice for my($ 12 – 13) drinks! 4)one of our dinner rolls we split opened had mold growing inside.(the rest seemed fine but that one moldy roll ruined the beginning/setting of our chewing session). 5) my appetizer($ 15) grilled octopus was rather on the tough, rubbery side which lacked any fresh flavor(but I enjoyed the chickpeas w cucumber salad that was underneath) 6)($ 5)side order of French fries came to the table cold and soggy. When it was mentioned to the waitress, she kindly brought a new batch. 7)the sushi rolls($ 14)spicy tuna &($ 14)California rolls we ordered to the table never came until we asked the waitress and it seemed she just forgot to deliver to our table. 8) no complaints on the($ 42) surf and turf by my dad(but he’s easy to please) The filet mignon seemed to be cooked as he requested medium and the lobster tail looked yummy from afar! 9)($ 29) shrimp scampi looked delicious but the pasta was overcooked(again, we didn’t expect 5 star dishes but the noodles were overcooked) pet peeve of mine bc pasta is not difficult to cook & for a $ 30 plate, u want edible, al dente pasta. 10) Last but NOT least. Your women’s bathroom had only one stall working. The other toilet was out of order!!! Unacceptable. The line is too long. Waitress corrected our check and removed the appetizers that we never received. Overall for the check that came out to approx. $ 500 we ask for a little more organization. The staff seems very friendly and sweet but please deliver the goods. Restaurant has so much potential if u can tweak it a bit.

This is a great place to come on the weekends. They have the best live bands, good food and a nice atmosphere. It’s not a kids joint. The crowd is 30 +

Lobster Mac and Cheese and Lobster Hash… nothing else really has to be said about the wonderful atmosphere and the friendly and attentive staff. If you hit the Nautical Mile, this is one spot you MUST visit.

I’ll start off by saying that I’m honestly shocked with the reviews Hudson’s has on Unilocal.I’m thankful that my friend suggested this place for dinner and that I didn’t do my usual Unilocal check prior to checking the spot out because after reading some of these reviews I can’t believe it’s about the same restaurant I just left. Hudson’s is one of your typical Nautical Mile restaurants that primarily sell seafood and kind of overprice their menu items. However, it’s very catching to the eye and has a nice classier atmosphere compared to Bracco’s across the street. I was greeted within seconds of arrival and immediately seated with the option of dining outside or inside. The guy was very warm and welcoming. My server, Brandon was such a sweetheart. Very attentive, caring and just great at his job. I tried the mango mojito. It was pretty looking and tasted good but I’ll be honest and say it was too small for $ 11 and too pulpy. It tasted like juice and was missing the rum. For my entrée I decided to get the Lobster Roll and I cleaned my plate. Very generous with the lobster and it had a great flavor. It came with a mini bucket of fries for $ 18 with the option to sub with a salad. They offer specials of the day. They also have a list of sushi rolls if you’re in the mood. A somewhat extensive wine menu and lots of drinks ranging from Martinis to fish bowls. I had a great experience here. The staff treated me like I was special and I definitely wouldn’t hesitate to return!

To those local hillbillies that wrote weird 2 star reviews for this place I gotta tell you that we dine out in Manhattan few times a week and know restaurants and the reviews you guys left completely confuse other Unilocalers. We LOVED it here! Food is five star so is the service. Deserts were ok enough. I almost made my local friends to not go here since I usually judge my dining by Unilocal and saw 2 star rating. Very unfair I give this place 5 star and highly recommend anybody that in this area to stop by seafood. Oysters were great Lobster grilled cheese was awesome Try their sashimi cuts And seafood diabola pasta

The place was alright. Asked for 4 beers and the bartender only gave us 3. We had to remind her we asked for four. They had no cover and a live band which was good.

The food here was good but not good enough to justify the price. The place seems to be a little expensive for the sake of being expensive. An app, 2 warm beers, an entrée and desert will cost you just under $ 100 per person with tax and tip. Not outrageous but certainly not cheap. The best thing this place has going for it are the waitresses. Ive been here twice and had identical experiences. Although the service is a little slow, no doubt due to the amount of people, the wait staff is friendly and knows the menu perfectly. Descriptions and recommendations are spot on. This last time i had the calamari in sweet chili sauce. Sauce on the side might be a good idea because it was sweet, perhaps a little to much so. As an entrée the seafood risotto was my choice. The seafood was fresh and the portion was adequate. Its an assortment of scallops muscles clams and shrimp over risotto. The dish was good but came with enough garlic to scare every vampire within 30 miles away. Not a good dish to order on a date. Definitely order an appetizer if you have any sort of appetite. If you plan to come here for drinks dont count on beers. Most of the taps seem to perpetually out and the ones they do have are warm. Tip: If you dont mind diabetes inducing sweet drinks go for the fish bowls. The refills are only $ 10

Good apps bland entrees. For the price service should be better. Not to mention fruit flies were everywhere! Landing all over our meal the entire time. I had to send my shrimp scampi back because the noodles were not done and it was very bland.

Hudsons looks amazing from the outside, but they are such a disappointment. After I found a piece of hair in my Lobster Roll I steered away from this place for awhile. I decided to give it one more try this past Sunday and once again I wasn’t impressed. The waitress comes over and asks my date and I what we wanted to drink. I ordered immediately but my date was looking on the menu for an extra thirty seconds. The waitress rudely says she’ll come back with my drink while he decides. She couldn’t wait a minute? Our water glasses had lipstick stains on it; we asked the guy to replace them. He does, and fill our glasses with warm water, no ice. The crabcake and lobster taco saved this place. They need to hire a better waitressing staff.

I’m really surprised this place has a low rating on . We ate here on a recent Saturday night after our party of five was given the worst service ever across the street at Bracco’s, and found Hudson’s to be a fantastic restaurant, worlds beyond Bracco’s… We were immeadiately sat by one of their kind hostesses, and our server was really friendly and attentive to our party, with all drinks and food served in a timely manner and always with a smile. Everything we ordered was delicious but my favorite was the lobster grilled cheese. Everything was great and fresh though — fish & chips, pasta diavlo(?), bacon wrapped scallops were also delicious! Prices were pretty standard for the Nautical Mile. Portions were large and generous(we all had leftovers for the next day, though we purposely saved room for dessert at our meal. Those were great as well!) All around a great restuarant, with great and caring staff. I would definitely return again!

Excellent service and amazing food. Had the oysters to start and they were as fresh as they can get; very tasty and clean. The lobster mac and cheese is absolutely superb with the right amount of everything. Great atmosphere and location!

Draft beer was warm, waitress then recommended a bottle. I obliged and my beer came from a can. Chicken wings $ 12 for an app. I kid you not the wings were microscopic and one wing was the size of a tootsie pop. My wife did enjoy the blacken shrimp and maybe it’s he old adage, don’t get non seafood from a seafood place.

Beyond shocked at the negative reviews… I have been here 2x, both for Restaurant week and I cannot say anything bad about this place. The service was impeccable both times. The portions are very large and delicious. Definitely one of my favorite places on the Mile.

I was skeptical about coming here after reading the reviews. But since it was restaurant week and I’d only be paying $ 27 I figured what do I have to lose? I’m pretty glad I gave it a shot. Now my review may be biased because for $ 27 I am very happy with what we got. I am not sure how I’d feel paying full price. The interior/ambiance is really nice. Hardwood floors, very classy and very clean. The staff is very friendly and accomodating. We were given 3 menu’s which could be overwhelming, but our server(Andrew) took the time to explain each. He was very helpful and made sure our dining experience was top notch. I ordered the mussels, snapper and cheesecake off of the restaurant week menu and my mother ordered the calamari, flounder and chocolate cake. They note on the menu that portions are not made smaller due to restaurant week and they are not lying! We ended up having to take home half of our appetizer and entrée! The calamari was delicious and totally fresh! The mussels were big, but I wasn’t a fan. They were a little rubbery and I wasn’t a fan of the white sauce. I think next time I would try them in the red sauce. The snapper and flounder were very tasty and flavorful. I loved the mango salsa that they put on the snapper, I even asked for more on the side! Our entrees were cooked just right. Finally for our dessert it was again a big portion that we couldnt finish, but wanted to! Overall we had a great experience here for restaurant week. When I want to treat myself and spend the regular price, I will definitely be back.

I’m just like«ehhh» about this place. They have a great outdoors area to have dinner and a huge outdoor bar, but that’s just about all I liked about it. Drinks were weak, crowd was definitely older. I ordered steak bites for dinner and they came out soggy and drenched with goat cheese. Ew. Service was ok. For the price, the food and ambiance just aren’t worth coming back to.

We came here for Father’s Day Dinner and WOW! was it a horrible experience! We ordered the Lobster Quesadilla, Calamari, and Shrimp Cocktail to start. The Quesadillas were cold(horrible combination of cold cheese and cold lobster), the calamari was under-seasoned, the only good thing was the shrimp cocktail. They were HUGE! For the entrees we tried to keep it simple and had 4 Fisherman’s Platter & Red Snapper. The waiter forgot to put in my order and by the time it came out, everybody was done eating already. RIDICULOUS! Oh and shocker — it was all under-seasoned! The waiter came out and apologized and said he would remove it from our bill. To our surprise(not), it was still on the bill — we called the manager, who was semi-helpful and waived the meal & the quesadillas. Look — for the most part everything was FRESH but it seems as though either their kitchen cant handle the orders or they are understaffed — either way I am never coming back!
