Bamboo Bar and Grill

We had a great time here over the summer. Got to see a great game and enjoy some great food. Had boneless wings 3 different ways and my wife had a salad. Drinks were good. Wife had some frozen stuff she loved and I stuck with beer.
Prices are fair for the area, and we will be back again. We spend a good deal of time at the bar and when a table opened up we moved there to eat. Bartender and waitress were great.

I’ve had lunch/​dinner here a few times. Pleasant spot on the Nautical Mile in Freeport. Prices are average for this area, food is okay. This summer they did have a Blackberry Margarita that was amazing, made with fresh fruit. Some staff is wonderful, some just okay. Bartenders have been good in my experiences.

After a long day at the beach I was in the mood for some fish tacos and a good old burrito. Came across this place — only to be disappointed as it was the only spot we picked that didn’t have a happy hour. Not only that the steak quesadilla came so burned the bottom was almost black cancer-​causing I had to manually use a fork to split the top and bottom pieces just to eat the middle.’ My gf ordered a burrito stuffed with more rice than shrimp and meat on top of that it came with extra extra side of rice and beans — I would expect guac & chips /​salsa at the very least. There’s definitely better spots out in this area — you’ve been warned.

Whatever you do, do not come to this place. Horrible food, dryest burrito I’ve had in my life. Go to chipotle it’s ten times better than here especially for the price. The burrito, which has rice in it, came with rice on the side. How much more rice does one need when they are eating a burrito with rice in it. On top of that no sides or anything to give some flavor to that dry sandpaper-​tasting burrito.

The bar is a little tiny but it’s really cute and everyone is super nice so it’s not an awkward small.
Blue Point Brewery people were giving free beer as well as glasses with these awesome paint markers to write on our glasses.
Art time at the bar? Well, of course.
Haven’t gotten around to that drunk wine painting shit, so this let me experience the beauty of it.
No seriously. Bartender Billy. Back to this beautiful creature. My girlfriend collect beer taps. You know the things they pull down to get beer from? Okay, just making sure, because I had no idea.
All of them are different and really unique. We asked Billy if he had any extra. This man goes and finds her literally like 7. And awesome ones at that. He bagged them and everything. He was absolutely without a doubt the best person I’ve ever experienced at a bar.
The other bartender was really nice too, but I don’t remember the fellows name.
I think the sand area with tables is a really cute idea, too. Although, we didn’t hang out there.

Went here because it was outside, had live music and seemed like a great place for dinner. Sat down and waited 15 minutes for a waitress to approach our table. Service was terrible and there seemed to be only 2 waitresses for the entire packed restaurant. Food took forever. When we paid our bill, the waitress returned the receipt without my credit card. She had to search the bar because she lost it on the way back. Absolutely terrible.
I have 2 stars because it’s a great location and because the music was great. However the service does not make up for the the clusterfuck of a service. Plus there were no lights outside or candles on the table. It was basically eating in the dark.

Came here to grab food and drinks after walking «nautical mile». Hostess seated my friend and I immediately by a sidewalk window bc we wanted to people watch. Waitress came over and gave us the menu. She was really nice and extra helpful since I wasn’t feeling well.
I asked for recommendations on the tacos bc I was undecided on between the pork, fish or cauliflower. She recommended the fish and cauliflower so I went with that. She also recommended the blackberry margarita so I went with that also.
The blackberry margarita came out quickly. When I tried it, I found it to be too sour. My friend also had the same drink and couldn’t finish it bc the sourness upset her stomach. I finished it but I was forcing myself to.
When we got our tacos I realized they cane with rice and beans. The cauliflower taco was really good and my friend enjoyed hers also. My fish taco was also good and so was my friends buffalo chicken taco. The rice tasted like box rice and the beans weren’t that bad.
I definitely recommend the food not sure about the drinks though. So maybe 3.5 but Unilocal doesn’t have that option lol.

I have mix feelings about this place, we came here to have lunch since we were starving. We decided to sit inside by the open windows which was great since we could people watch. I have to say the waitresses here were super nice and very helpful since my friend was having some female issues.
Now here is why I’m not sure if I like or love this place, the food was really good. I had the buffalo chicken taco and cauliflower taco, both were full of flavor and really good especially the cauliflower one. Now the drinks were horrible, I had the blackberry margarita and it was so sour I couldn’t even finish my drink and it made my stomach hurt. I’m usually a big fan of margaritas but not here.
I think I would come back for the food and maybe just order a regular drink.

I highly recommend this place! The drinks were great as well as the service and the food. I am gluten free and was able to enjoy their gluten free tacos! Yum! I highly recommend their pork and buffalo chicken taco! Will be back very soon!

One star for a uniformly bad customer service experience. (It wasn’t even busy!) We were seated at a dirty table, and no one greeted us or brought menus/​water/​silverware for the first fifteen minutes. I walked to the front again to let the hostess know that we existed, and after that we ordered strange cocktails and a flat soda.
Another hostess brought us our food and put it on the table with the dubious comment, «uh sorry, whose is this… Food??? Sorry, I really can’t tell what this is,» and moodily walking away without checking in with us (still no silverware, and table was still damp from the last party’s glasses).
I could add more details from this strangely disorganized dinner experience, but the point is: Don’t go here.

Came here for taco Tuesday.
Fish tacos were kind of disappointing, but the pork was SO good. Sangria was decent.
Nice bartenders, fast service.
We also happen to come on trivia night. The lady who was announcing was annoyed that no one knew who invented Penicillin. I wrote SpongeBob square pants.
