History
Established in 2004.
The original Jeremy’s opened in 1974 in the South Street Seaport Museum. It moved 4 times and now occupies the ground floor of 228 Front St. ½ block north of the Seaport.
Jeremy’s East on the Nautical Mile in Freeport is on the water and has taken on a life of its own while still keeping the flavor of the original restaurant. The management in Freeport began their careers at Jeremy’s in the city and still have a connection to it.
A friendly rivalry exists between the two locations with Jeremy being caught in the middle.
Meet the Business Owner
jeremy H.
Business Owner
Jeremy opened the business 42 years ago as a much younger man with hair. In those years you could always find him either in the kitchen, behind the bar, or helping clean up in front of the house.
Now, Jeremy’s is still a family business operated by his two sons, his nephew and a friend. On holidays you can still see the entire family pitching in, with Jeremy usually hanging out with his grandchildren.
He is often there; so stop in and have a drink with him.
