P & D Hobby Shop

P&D Hobby has O Scale items like an ALCO RS-​1 corner sign board that no one else in the United States has. P&D Hobby is a gold mine of train parts in a desert of toy and hobby stores with basically nothing. For the skilled, detail oriented hobbiest, P&D is the best.

P&D has been around just about as long as I have. I can remember my dad taking me here when I was younger, and it was always an awesome time.
They had three main focuses: trains, models, and remote control toys. I was mostly interested in the models as a kid, but then started on trains as well. P&D to this day still has a wonderful selection of both, from models for beginners under $ 15, to $ 100 expert model kits.
I remember P&D being a repair shop for small engines (for remote control 4x4s, planes, and the like.) Since I haven’t used this service, I can’t say more.
P&D still focuses on these three areas; if you’re into miniatures or gaming supplies, there are a few other hobby shops that may be better worth your time. (Or check out some of the comics shops.)
It may seem very 1950 to build models of old battleships, but like many of the gardeners I’ve spoken to, model building is very soothing because it makes you focus. If you have a young one who shows any interest in doing something other than playing video games, this would be a good place to try!
