ROOTS is a fun, engaging and safe place for students of all ages to learn the arts of music and dance; but it doesn’t stop there.

The ROOTS Promise:

History

Established in 2008.

ROOTS Academy was founded in 2008 by singer/​songwriter Nate Sallie, originally as The School of Worship. Starting out of his home, his student base grew quickly, forcing him to move into a new location near downtown Franklin, TN. About a year later, he hit capacity again and relocated to our current location in the heart of the growing Cool Springs area, also in Franklin, TN. The new building and location propelled the student population to nearly 400 students as word got out about the unique teaching/​mentoring environment that Nate was implementing.

In August of 2012 September of that year, he sold the business to Kyle & Kristy Chowning, who are the current owners.

Kyle Chowning is an established publishing, television and marketing professional who graduated with a business management major, and a music minor from George Fox University in Newberg, Oregon.
