Caribbean Delight’s menu offers unique meals and cuisine that are all made-​from-​scratch including oxtail, curry goat, jerk chicken, curry chicken, jerk shrimp and rice and peas. Beef patties, chicken patties, soups, fritters, sweet plantains, vegetarian options and other items help to round out the restaurant’s menu which is built around traditional cuisine found among the Caribbean islands.

At Caribbean Delight, savory island spices, herbs, coconut milk and other flavors are blended into savory sauces and marinades that enhance the flavors of its many fresh dishes. To complement its menu, Caribbean Delight also offers a variety of island-​inspired, home-​made beverages, including sorrel and ginger beer.

Caribbean Delight is located at 3211 Route 27 in Franklin Park. It is the first Caribbean-​inspired restaurant to open its doors in the region.

Caribbean Delight is a small, family run, full service restaurant and caterer inspired and founded by Pansy Lee. Lee hails from West Moreland, Jamaica. She brings decades of experience to the kitchen. Our goal is to provide our customers and patrons with the best quality Caribbean Cuisine using the highest quality ingredients and products. We aim to provide cordial and unmatched hospitality, and seek to produce only the freshest and most savory products in the kitchen. We also seek to provide customers with an authentic and accurate representation of Caribbean food and culture.

Visited Caribbean Delight three times over the course of 2weeks. We needed this restaurant in this area! Tried both the curry and jerk chicken, both of which were excellent. I’m a fan of spicy and the jerk was seasoned perfectly, not mild but not overbearing. Wait time on all visits was about 10−20mins which was reasonable to me. Food was fresh, hot, delicious. Atmosphere is simple but comfy, great playlist spinning in the background! Stop by, you won’t be disappointed.

The food was good! It’s definitely not a chain restaurant like (golden krust-​yuck). Everything is homemade, I had the stewed chicken which was very tender and flavorful and the veggies were delicious as well. Most places over look the veggies but they were actually very tasty. I’m looking forward to trying everything else on the menu. And also a super plus for great customer service and cleanliness. I will be back!

First time trying Caribbean and I’m hooked! Owner walked me through the menu and explain that all the ingredients are fresh! I’m finishing up Chickpea Roti and it’s amazing! I was also given a sample of Sorrel, so good. Can’t wait to go back!

This was my first time going to this place and I like that it is super clean with Island décor. Karen (sp???) was super friendly and we discussed the menu. I had jerk chicken along with jerk shrimp. They were seasoned nicely and pretty flavorful. The food was a little pricey which could be because I bought both chicken and half shrimp.
I tried a sample of the ginger beer and it was good. That is saying something since I normally don’t like ginger beer. Overall, a good experience and I hope they stick around for awhile. It’s nice to have a Caribbean spot right on 27.

Went here last night and the food was really good. We had the jerk shrimp and the handmade patties. Both were fantastic and I recommend you ask for the homemade secret hot sauce. It was awesome!
The highlight was that I left my wallet there last night and they held onto it for me. I went in today to pick it up and they had safely stored it away for me, money and everything inside. The mark of a true and honest business.

If you’re looking for flavorful, homemade Caribbean food, this is exactly what you’ll get here. I got the Roti w/​Chicken Curry, a Beef Patty and a Kola Champagne Soda. The Curry had a wonderful taste and the Chicken was cooked to perfection. Truly delicious! The Beef Patty was also great! I really enjoyed my experience here and will definitely be back for more. (I liked it so much that I wrote my first Unilocal review!!)

So happy to have this restaurant in the neighborhood! We really liked the curry goat. The meat was perfectly tender and the curry had a nice bite. It’s served with the staples cabbage and beans and rice. The whole dish was great. The beef patty was very good too. The pastry was sweet and the meat was not spicy but tasty enough. The food definitely seems to be made with love. We’ll be back.

My co-​worker and I took the trip down from northern NJ. Just to have some oxtail and curry
chicken… It was as fantastic as the first time we came down, we had the rum cake as well. Which was delicious, nice and moist. I was happy to see that we were greeted with the same heart felt welcome as the first time. I tip my hat off to the Chef. Caribbean Delight you truly are a delight.

I went in there last night, I asked for the oxtail dinner & was told it wouldn’t be ready for at least 30 minutes so I asked what was ready already and I chose curry goat out of the choices she gave me. She said it would take 20 minutes nonetheless. After 20 minutes, the woman who worked there walked over to me & informed me that she was sorry but they were out of goat. She said I could order something else, but I didn’t want to wait more so I left. I have no idea what the food actually tastes like there, but that service is unacceptable. I will not go there again.

We met Pansy, the owner, at the Rutgers Gardens Farmer’s Market where she has a stand — go visit her on Fridays until November and try one of her beef patties! SO good! SO spicy (in a good way)!
Pansy and her family just opened Caribbean Delight tucked in behind the CVS & TD Bank on Rt 27. Definitely worth checking out!
The staff is super friendly and helpful with the menu.
They offer several beverage options that are not the mainstream, coke, sprite, etc. Definitely try the pineapple soda or the fresh coconut water or one of their other signature drinks. So yummy!
The menu itself is somewhat small, but this is NOT a drawback. What they have is prepared fresh and is amazing. It takes some time, but just sit back and enjoy your pineapple soda, fresh coconut water, the Bob Marley music and the island atmosphere.
I’ve had several dishes from Caribbean Delight already, and would suggest any of them. I think my favorite is the curry goat. It comes with rice and veggies and a really wonderful spicy sauce.
My wife is a major fan of Pansy’s hand-​made Jamaican Beef Patties. They have chicken and beef and they’re both great.
In short, make the time to go visit Pansy, sit back with a cool drink while she and her family make your order with love and passion, then enjoy a meal as close to home-​cooked as you will find outside of a Jamaican house!

Came here a few days ago just before running off to the city. There aren’t any Caribbean places nearby unless I go into New Brunswick (which I didn’t have time to do). I ordered the jerk chicken which came with rice and vegetables, an order of plantains, and a ginger beer. While everything was amazing, especially the freshly made ginger beer, I was disappointed in the mildness of the jerk chicken. But I’m being a stickler because the meat fell off the bone. If you like heat let them know so they can kick it up a notch!

Prepared fresh! Caribbean authentic with nice portion sizes, left us full! By far the best Jamaican beef patties I’ve ever had, a good spice level. Nice ambiance and décor, felt like I was in the islands! Love this place it’s set back off the road so be sure to pull into the plaza with the CVS before TD bank. I cannot say enough good things!

This place is better than most places in NYC. The ox tails and stewed chicken are both phenomenal. They were out of beef patties, but if their other food is any indication, I’m sure it’s gonna be awesome too. Definitely have to come back to try the other stuff on the menu

Saw this in our area as a ‘Hot & New’ and since my husband misses Jamaican food from when he used to work in NYC we had to give it a try. We went for takeout right before closing so there was no jerk chicken left. I got the oxtail (never had it before) and it was very good — a bit greasy but good. The rice was good too but the veggie side — that was SPICY!!! I’m not a spicy lover and I could not handle it at all. My husband loves spicy and it was a surprise to him too but he ate all of his but it was too much for him to eat my veggies.
Would go back for more oxtail (and my husband is dying to try to jerk chicken).

That’s some good curry chicken man! The jerk chicken is on fire! On the real tip, expect laid back Caribbean service (little slow) but worth the wait. So far we had the Jamaican chicken patties, curry chicken and jerk chicken. They make their food fresh so some items might not be available at the time of order. You either have to wait for awhile or come another day. I really want to try their goat curry. A few people were ordering ox tails but I’ve never had it before… but there is a first time for everything!

I wanted so much to like this place since its nice to see some variety in the area as opposed to me always ordering Indian food (which I love) But, my food wasnt as expected. Its not that the food tastes bad, thats not the case. It’s that it doesn’t taste Caribbean. At all. I ordered the shrimp. Its almost as if the flavors are dialed down because of the area. I say keep it authentic & throw in the traditional spices. I usually have Caribbean food whenever Im in Brooklyn and was hoping for a dupe nearby but not so. I will say however customer service was great. Hence the 3 stars.

Delicious! I had the curry goat and my friend had the curry chicken. Both dinners came with rice and peas with cabbage. Portion sizes were large. We also tried the ginger beer and sorrel. Everything authentically Jamaican and authentically delicious. Strong and flavorful ginger beer. Loved it!
Definitely returning for more.
