History

Established in 1985.

After moving his Fudge business to downtown Frankenmuth in the early 80’s from Sault Ste Marie, our fearless owner decided to take his confectionary skills to the next level. He then bought the building down the street and with the birth of his first son, named it Zak’s Kandy Haus. After nearly 30 years it is now established as a fun loving Chocolate store in the heart of downtown Frankenmuth. Specializing in all home made products. Now going into that second generation, Zak is now not just the new son, he is working side by side with his father to eventually carry the torch going forward.

Growing up working in the family business he was used to making candies from an early age. Whether it was Fudge or hand dipped candies he was always around the family shops.

Zak then took on a hockey career, Playing his collegiate career at Michigan State University winning a National Title in 2007. Then played in the Minors with Rio Grande Valley from 2008 – 2011.

Retiring from the minors to come home and help in the family business Zak has been attending candy schools throughout the country. Working on his families trades to eventually help the second generation carry on what their father started. Today he still works hand in hand with his father learning and perfecting his candy career.
