Portions are good but everything is so bland. I got half chowmein half fried rice. The chowmain had zero flavor to it. The fried rice was good. I also got orange chicken and kung pow chicken. Both pretty much tasted the same yet both still flavorless and bland

This place is fantastic. The only negative is that it’s a cash only business. However, their food is really good for a Chinese fast food place. I usually get the house special chicken with chow mein and deep fried squid. I have eaten here several times over the past 5 years. On one occasion, I ate the food so quickly that I actually puked in the parking lot, but it was well worth it. I was back for lunch the very next day :)

You come across a handful of Chinese food places in your lifetime that you go out of your way to go to because you know beyond a shadow of a doubt that this place will not let you down, well ladies and gents of Unilocal this IS that Chinese food I speak of. I’ve been coming here for the past 7 to 8 years. I first came here back in 2009 I believe because my girlfriend worked at the Albertsons in this shopping center and we’d come here for her lunch breaks. The customer service here is great, I haven’t had one complaint about any aspect of this restaurant in over the years I’ve come here. I highly recommend anyone to frequent here my personal favorite is the beef broccoli, orange chicken, beef spare ribs and the BBQ pork. Happy eats everyone!

Best Chinese Food America! I love it here. My favorite thing to order is two entrée chow mein with house special chicken, some other kind of meat, and egg rolls. They pack on so much that my girlfriend and I split it(and we eat A LOT). All that, plus a drink, is $ 13 and sometimes we can’t even finish that one order so there are leftovers.

Honestly, I love me some dirty Chinese food. So good, so worth, so dirty af haha(in a good way LOL)… Whenever I am in the mood for cheap Chinese food in the OC, this is my go-to place. I’m glad I found this place because of Unilocal haha. What I like about this Chinese fast food place is that their portions are huuuuuuuuuugeeee. Like omg so huge. And super generous too! They hella pile the food in the to-go containers to the max and you get a lot of bang for your buck at this place. When I first saw how big the portions were, I was like omg how am I going to finish this? LOLOL. Service here is quick and attentive and I have no complaints. The only downfall like others have said in their reviews is that this place is cash only but cheap is cheap and if they are super generous on their food portion sizes, I’m down. Lots of available parking. Not a huge problem. And bring cash too. Happy Eating!

Yes, we were not going to come again. However, when there is NOTHINGELSE nearby you sometimes weaken. I am writing here now to WARN others especially older people about our experience at Lucky Chinese. Today, hubby and I shared a pint of House Special Chicken(cheaper this way) and one Egg Fu Young with sweet and sour sauce. Also we shared the special week end only dessert, Fried Won Tons(4).(Order these when ready to eat them because not so good cold.) After coming home we just decided to check our blood pressures and heart rates. These handy inexpensive tools are great to have on hand. Hubby’s(normally under 60 heart beat was 80). My blood pressure and heart beat(Normally 110 or below, 60’s heart beat) were 135 and 85. We found these readings VERYALARMING! Sadly, we must scratch Lucky off of our short list and this time we mean it.

My boyfriend and I go here really often! We love the food: large portions, decent prices, and everything is cooked on the spot and kept hot and fresh! They have various combos you can choose from, but we usually get combo 2(fried rice/chow mein + 2 sides). They stuff the crap out of your to-go box so beware when you open it! XD I usually get orange chicken, BBQ pork, or house chicken. Love the ladies who work there– they’re very nice, and I’m happy we have a wonderful place to satisfy our Chinese food cravings! ^_^

You know the whole in the wall place that was awesome! Well, until people found out about it and like the commercial in the 80’s, then you told a friend, and they told a friend and so on and so on… Now the place is so crowded, it isn’t worth it. 1The prices went up. 7.00 now where it used to be cheaper. 2. Is it me? Did they reduce the size of their take out containers? They used to be bigger. For example, if you ordered white rice separate it was a dollar for a big one. Now the biggest size, used to be the smallest and it costs more! Getting stingy with the Teryiaki sauce. If you ordered 2 items, one of which was T Chicken, Pork and White Rice. They used to give you 2 Teriyaki Sauces. Now they only give one! If you ask for another they want to charge you now! Just seems, this place used to be such a great deal, generous portions, great food for cheap. Now yrs later. Smaller portions, higher prices and quality has decreased.

Whenever we are in the mood to completely engorge ourselves with Chinese Take Out, Lucky Chinese Food is always our go to place. They have a vast variety of menu items to choose from, and they PILE on the food in your To Go containers. Like literally, they have rubber bands available to secure the over-stuffed take out boxes they prepare for you! My favorite items are the House Special Chicken, the BBQ Pork and the Fried Squid. OMGosh that Fried Squid is so addicting! The Chow Mein is heavy, but still so delicious. I have been satisfied with my food orders each time I visit. I always have leftovers to enjoy the next day! Lucky Chinese is a local favorite, so there is usually a line, especially during their peak lunch and dinner hours. Most people order to take out, but they do have a few tables inside if you desire to eat there instead. I don’t mind standing in line, I enjoy looking at what others order and consider my options. Although there is a line, it moves pretty fast. However, if you don’t have time to stand in line, they do take phone orders as well. It is cash only, so come prepared. Their prices are very affordable for the amount of flavorful food you get! Totally worth it!

How can a Chinese express be so popular? Well, now I can see why. The food is so delicious here. People should seriously come here instead of Panda Express. The portion is a lot bigger and the food is more fresh. You will wait for a while for your food if you come during lunch of dinner time. I don’t know what happened last time, but I ended up waiting for an hour and it was worth it. There are so many different entrees to choose from and my favorites are their Fried Calamari, House special chicken, mushroom and chicken, and of course their orange chicken. The fried calamari is not too salty and it always crunchy after taking it home from the restaurant. The house special chicken is to die for. The chicken is always so moist and the flavors are so confusing that it starts to mingle and party in my mouth. It has the right amount of spice, sweet, and salt. Just pure fun. The mushroom chicken is not that special but it is not as oily as other places. Right amount of meat, mushroom and zucchinis. Overall, everything here is good. The staffs work at a fast pace and they’re so kind. It gets loud and rowdy in there, which makes it fun. It keeps you awake after every once in a while, since the main lady keeps screaming«More Order: House Special Please! Thank you!!» Also, CASHONLY

Although I’m JUST writing a review, I’ve been coming to lucky Chinese since I was an elementary schooler, so it had been 10 years! It never fails to disappoint! My go to order is a one item with all chow mein and house special chicken! Don’t be scared of the jalapeños in the HSChicken, because it isn’t that spicy! But it definitely is good! I DO feel that both the HSChicken and Chow mein is really greasy and oily but to be honest, it’s all good food! Just know in ahead of time that it is cash only! So it was a huge :(for me as I grew up Tip: if you wanna have a potluck and don’t know what it get, order from here! Their chicken wings are great for parties! As well as some chow mein and stuff!

Wow. Definitely not my usual experience at Lucky tonight! The line was short(only about a 10 minute wait), the chow mein was 90% cabbage 10% noodles and the portions were so stingy I thought I was at Panda Express. To the point that for $ 7 and change, I actually feel totally ripped off. Hoping this is not the new norm. :(I’ll update again after my next(and hopefully not last) visit.

This is easily my favorite«Fast Food» Chinese restaurant in OC. The food is always fresh and hot and the selection is great. It’s around $ 7 for a 2-item(with the amount they give you, it may as well be 3 items) — so legit! I have been there a handful of times now and my go-to is the Orange Chicken. I have also had the BBQ Pork, House Chicken, and Mushroom Chicken — you really can’t go wrong with any of those. Note, that the house chicken is not breaded like the orange chicken. I would avoid peak eating times if you don’t want to wait in line. But if you are in line and you think you’ve scoped out the lady that seems to give the largest portions and hope that you get her, DON’T WORRY! — it doesn’t matter who you get, each of the ladies gives giant servings! There are plenty of tables to sit at if you chose to dine-in and each table has a bottle of Sriracha. Note: Cash Only!

Worked hard at the gym and decided to try this place down the street from the gym! First time here, and there was a loooong line! Luckily, it went by consistently quick. The workers hustle! It was Sunday around 7pm… dinner time! I read on reviews that pretty everything is great. Best part is that they FILL up the styrofoam box they use(that could be an understatement). Ordered the house chicken and orange chicken with half fried rice and half noodles. Both chicken dishes were great tasting, just a bit on the oily side(it’s fast food Chinese– go figure). The noodles tasted way better than the fried rice. The fried rice was bland. The turn over on food was extremely high so high that the ladies working there kept calling out the food names to be replenished. Overall, great experience and something I’d go for every blue moon when I’m craving this oily deliciousness!

Best Chinese food in the area. The only down fall is cash only. But it’s worth it. Quick trendily service and boy, do they pack your food. I ordered the 1 item for lunch had a scoop of fried rice since I’m not a big fan of fast food fried rice. To my surprise, this is the only place I really like their fried rice. Good flavor and not too grainy. The rest was chow mien and I love it. It wasn’t an over greasy flavor to it and not too much veggies, it was actually noodle based. I went for their house chicken which is stir fried with jalapeños. Wasn’t too spicy, but when i munched on the jalapeños, I got the kick I was looking for. Generous amount given EACHTIME.

NOTE: CASHONLY! Tucked into a shopping plaza, there is plenty of parking around to head on into this place. Once inside, you’ll head down the line and pick out what you want in a Panda Express /Chipotle fashion. They have tons of options to choose from, and they are all items you’ve seen before, such as, beef with broccoli, orange chicken, etc. Staff is quick to move everyone through so even if there is a bit of a line — don’t worry, it’s not bad. Keep in mind that it’s cash only. They have an ATM on site if you need it. There are about 20 tables in the restaurant, so you can take it to go or eat in. Overall: B Pretty standard options, quick, easy. Cash only.

Best dish of the night: fried squid Large size about $ 8, they told us to wait for the new batch even there was still quite enough fried squid left on the tray. So it was just out of the wok and very tasty. Could use more salt and pepper for a kick but good enough for my expectation here. House special chicken, their chicken is not dry, kind juicy. Flavor wise nothing special. Eggplant, I normally love eggplant but their version is slightly too sweet for my like. Chicken w vegetables, kind bland but again chicken is juicy. They have lot of choices but all not too far different from each other. Normally this chicken w vegetables dish is made from fish filet, but my friend said for the price they probably wouldn’t offer fish. Fried noodle is pretty good for fast american Chinese food standard. The pro here is the food is fresh, their business is so good that there’s nothing sit there for too long. Cons, kind greasy and lacking authentic Chinese food flavor but don’t expect this place to be like Rolling wok or Shau Mei in Rowland hts offer authentic type fast Chinese food. Portion is huge, service is friendly and fast. CASHONLY, ATM inside.
