Kirk and his son Casey started a mobile business in Fountain Hills. Very quickly there was a need for a garage, customers wanted Kirk to do work that could not be done in driveways. We still provide a mobile service here in town when needed. We have grown from one unit in the Industrial Park with just a word of mouth clientele to a newly renovated building on Saguaro Blvd. We have ASE certified technicians doing diagnosis, maintenance and repairs. Kirk is always available for customers that want to be educated about their vehicle’s repairs and maintanence.

Dighton High from their automotive trade school in 1976 and continued on to Sylvania Technical Institute for a degree in Electronics. He is a ASE Certified Master Technician, with continued education and 35 years experience in the field. I’m a rather easy to please person when it comes to service providers. Do what you say you are going to do, when you say you’re going to do it. Do it right. If somethings goes wrong, fix it.
I recently had my 14 year old Acura in for scheduled maintenance to replace the timing belt and water pump. The job was completed on time. When I got the car back, there was unusual minor shaking coming from the engine that wasn’t there prior to the repairs making the car perform differently than it ever had previously.
When I took it back, Wes’ immediate response was, «If you’re not happy, we’re not happy.» The issue was extremely difficult to determine, but Wes and his team kept at it. They even went as far as to completely replace the entire timing belt kit. When I got the car back, it was running perfectly again.
It would have been easy for Wes to tell me I have a 14 year old car and it is going to have its shakes and rattles, but he didn’t. He listened to my perspective and did what was necessary to have a happy customer. Auto Detective easily met my criteria, if something goes wrong, fit it.

A buddy and me were headed to the lake when his truck broke down. We were towed here and the staff took exceptional care and time to diagnose and fix the problem quickly and very reasonably priced. We were on the lake 2 hours later. Thanks to Wes and his staff. By far they were the most professional and honest staff I have ever encountered. I will make to trip to them from Scottsdale when my vehicle needs servicing. EXCELLENT service and extremely fair pricing.

Wes got me in and out in one day and even checked my vehicle over to make sure it was safe. He got my parts replaced and noticed my brakes needed to be done right away which I was unaware of. Great work, really nice guys that work there and prices were fair.

Excellent service. Wes could not have been nicer. Several months ago I stopped in with one of my cars without an appointment. Even though they were busy they worked on my car for nearly an hour attempting to determine the problem. They concluded it was a warranty issue and I should take it to the dealer. No charge! Who does that? They said they didn’t fix anything so there was no charge. A few days ago when I had a problem with my other car there was no question where to take it. I’ve told several friends of the first experience and encouraged them to try these folks when they need service. I love smart business people. Thanks guys.

An update to my previous 5 star review of Automotive Detective;
A remanufactured A/​C compressor installed in my ’90 Corvette quit working properly, and these guys took care of everything without so much as a word about any additional charges. Found a new OEM compressor, and changed out the defective one (+ the belt it ate up) and recharged the system without any charge for the time and materials it took to make things right. All this without me having to negotiate with them at all. They volunteered to make it right and they did it.
This customer just got a lot more loyal. Great folks, great customer service, easy to recommend.

I just moved to a new location in Scottsdale and found auto detective to be the closest to me at 7 miles away. The hardest thing was getting an appointment, I just kept missing the techs call.
Once I got over in the morning, I saw that it was smaller shop, but everyone there was in good spirit very friendly and I’m not a morning person.
I brought my own part, and the tech told me that they couldn’t warranty it. Honestly I don’t blame them, I had warranty from the manufacturer in any case for the part, but at least he was up front about it and they still installed it.
The tech gave me a quote of 2 hrs to replace my front air strut on my X5. And you know what, that’s what the price was when he got done, no Frits, that’s what it was.
My air suspension has four corner leveling, it took about 30 minutes of driving and moving the suspension up and down. The computer was able to adjust leveling and my front end was level again.
They did a great job, nothing was broke under the wheel well, and they gave me back my core part to send back to the manufacturer.
I’m definitely taking my SUV back for any part or work It might need done.

I have been a customer here since 2010. The service has always been very honest and reasonable. It is scary to walk in to a shop as a woman and feel like they just see dollar signs and are going to charge you for things that dont even actually exist. In 2010 Pat, the owner gave me a very good deal and helped me out with a tough situation with a car accident. He was very fair and went above and beyond to make it work out financially through my insurance. I have never forgotten that and have sent many people here ever since. Today I had free pick up and drop off service for my oil change so as a working Mom I was able to get my oil changed while I was at work! Also Wes did a kind favor and fixed a piece of insulation my daughter had ripped out of the car door and when I checked out I realized they he did that for free. They also didnt upsell me any annoying windshield wipers and oil filters that I didnt need. I think this is a very honest and fair mechanic shop that you can definitely trust!

Being a native of metro Phoenix all my life and having work done on all the cars I’ve owned, I have never been to such an awesome shop that runs on integrity and pure honesty as this one.
Wes and Kirk (and family) are blessings in disguise and have worked miracles for me every time, they have always done the highest quality work ant the best possible pricing with outcutting any corners.
My only wish is that all shops could work the way they do, but then again this is what makes them the Absolute Best at what they do!

While visiting Arizona, our truck’s parking brake cable broke. We were stranded at our RV site. After calling multiple local mechanics, Kirk was the only one willing to drive 15 minutes to us to offer his help and expertise. Both him and Wes were very pleasant to talk to on the phone and they displayed excellent customer service and professionalism. They will definitely be our go to mechanics anytime we are out this way again. Truly appreciative.

Scheduled services are no issue but when something has broken they have been able to get me in, figure out what was wrong, and get it fixed quickly and efficiently.
