I was first introduced to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in 2002 through a friend. I was instantly attracted to the effectiveness of the techniques and the great workout. In 2004 I decided to make jiu jitsu my primary focus. Since then I have been training full time and competing multiple times per year all over the US and internationally. I received my black belt from Roberto «Cyborg» Abreu in February 2011.

I remain a student of the art and always will. These days I am focused on sharing my experience with my students. I love teaching our kids and adults. I’m an easy guy to talk to. If you want to know more come train and ask.

Came in with no martial arts experience but NO FEAR. Albert and Braden provided great assistance and demonstration while everyone else there was just nice in general. Everyone was willing to help which made the experience more fun and competitive
A little pricey but with the free month trial, it’s definitely worth. Overall, a great environment to learn BJJ

By far one of the top gyms in the DFW metroplex! Top notch instruction by a great staff of friendly and dedicated martial artists. Huge facility complete with weight room, huge mat space, showers, locker rooms, play room for the kids, and Muay Thai and MMA training areas. Head coach Albert Hughes is a very friendly and professional instructor, as well as an accomplished black belt competitor. Be sure to check it out!

I don’t mean to overstate it but Tony and Albert really did help save my life, when I met them I was 250 pounds and I was taking lots of medication because I became a type two diabetic. as of today lost 100 pounds and I really believed they helped me get healthy. What’s great about this gym is the willingness to help others achieve there goals. Albert and Tony do an amazing job coaching their students.

If you aren’t training at Genesis you are missing out. This is the absolute best place to train in DFW. I have been training here for a year and have made great progress on my jiu jitsu, lost a large amount of weight, and made some great friends along the way. Everyone here is great and the gym feels like a second family. Albert and Tony are the best professors and go the extra mile to make sure you are learning and progressing. The GIT FIT class with Josh is a beast of a workout and perfect for getting in and staying in shape. This place has literally changed by my health and my life.

Genesis is a great place to train for everyone, from the person who has never stepped on the mat and is looking to get in shape and learn self defense to the season tournamnet veteran looking to sharpen skills and become more adept at the art of Brazilian jiu jitsu. You can train just about any time of the day, seven days a week, and classes are available for adults and children. Albert and Tony are awesome coaches and are there to help you start your Brazilian jiu jitsu journey.
