Great owners and staff! They go above and beyond to give their customers the best experience when it comes to buying quality running shoes and helping them with any issues they may encounter whether it be equipment or injuries.

First time here today. Had to replace a really worn down pair of running shoes. We did the treadmill video analysis to help me choose the best shoes for me (and not necessarily the most expensive!). Staff was super friendly and knowledgeable.
Very nice selection of clothes and running accessories. I wish this store would also get into cycling or triathlon apparel & accessories.

My husband and I finally got off our lazy asses and started a couch to 5k program. Four weeks in, we realized we were having fun, were probably going to stick with it, and should invest in decent shoes before we fuck our feet/​knees/​entire bodies up.
I wanted to go to Ft. Worth Running Company because of the fancy schmancy slow motion video analysis of your running. It turned out to be super useful for my husband, because he found out he runs some kind of wonky way — under pronate? Over pronate? One of those. The shoes he ended up getting made a MAJOR difference for him when we run, so that’s awesome.
I just run normally, so it was all about what felt good. We were helped by two different sales people and both were awesome. They will let you try basically every damn shoe in the place, no questions asked. My husband’s sales guy was particularly awesome and was being really encouraging about our new hobby and telling us about awesome races he ran in Mexico that ended in epic beer drinking.
I think we both tried on at least 8 pairs of shoes, which was not us being picky but seriously the amount of shoes they just started us out with. They were very cool about letting you jump on their treadmill and really taking the time to feel out a pair of shoes.
Overall a really great experience. Don’t be like the dicks who were ahead of us who got all the good info and attention and tried everything on and then were like «Thanks, we’re going to go find them cheaper online.» Honestly, the prices we paid for our shoes turned out to be better than ones we saw online AND you’re paying for the knowledgeable staff and opportunity to really feel confident about your purchase.

Finally, a running store that I can trust! I’ve seen these stores in other major cities, as well as in Southlake. So glad that Fort Worth has one.
Fort Worth Running Company is a store that is, of course, geared strictly toward those that follow and participate within the sport of running/​walking. Everything that you need is here, from quality name brand shoes, to shorts/​tops, watches from different manufacturers, etc. Although the venue is a bit expensive (at least a 20−25% markup on certain items, particularly shoes), I think that its worth it, given the level of service + running knowledge provided by both the employees and regular customers.
First off, an employee will diagnose your running method to determine which type of shoes are recommended. This is done via running/​walking on a treadmill in the far corner of the store. You’ll wear one of their «house shoes», which is more or less a generic brand that is made in the style of several other popular manufacturers. After videotaping your brief 20 – 30 second session, the employee will highlight if your ankles turn, etc. A plantar condition is really a serious concern to me, so I knew going in that I would have to make adjustments in my running régime with not only the type of shoes that I wore, but also the type of socks as well.
Of course, FWRC will pick out 3 – 4 different types of shoes. So glad that this store carries ½ sizes. I normally wear New Balance or Asics, yet because I wear a size 12, these brands have started to hurt my toes as of late. The employee found a size 12.5 in Saucony, a brand that I’ve heard of, yet never wore. Wow, what a difference. I bit pricey ($ 129.99), yet I knew that after trying it that I would love it. Never hesitated for a second.
I had an interest in other items, such as running shorts. There is a pair of shorts that highlight the Texas state flag for $ 40, yet I put that on impulse buy on hold for the moment. The taller and very athletic looking female employee (presumed to be the manager) was so cool that she gave me 10% off of my purchase due to my 40^th birthday being the next day. Didn’t expect that at all, yet it was highly appreciated.
If I had any complaints whatsoever, its that there is little to no parking around the store. I wound up parking on the street next to a Vietnamese Phở restaurant plus Chuy’s (I think). The employee let me know that there is a parking garage next to the building, yet due to its close proximity to an apartment building, I wasn’t certain if this parking was free or not. Hopefully, there is signage in the future that will indicate where parking is for the Fort Worth Running Company.
Altogether, a great experience with employees that know what they are talking about, as well as keeping you informed of running events in Fort Worth, such as the Cowtown Marathon, etc.

OUTSTANDING! My boyfriend has really bad shin splints and needed special shoes. We went to Luke’s Locker and an orthopedic doctor to examine the way he ran. Both of those locations did not want to take the time to look and see what was wrong. They just went ahead and said that he had very low aches and needed inserts. This was not the case. He has very high aches and an overprotected stance.
The guy here at the Fort Worth Running Company did a fantastic job examining his run in every pair of shoes he tried on to make sure that he received the perfect fit for his feet. He made sure through there slow motion controlled cameras that his alignment was straight.
I would recommend this shop to anyone that is serious about running or just finding a good fitting athletic shoe. Very professional and reasonable pricing and quality!

First of all… I have to say I love this area. There are a ton of shops, restaurants and it’s close to Trinity Park and the duck pond. You could totally go get your run on and then sit down for ritas over at Chuy’s. I came here to pick up my medal and swag from the Cowtown Marathon not too long ago. It’s an awesome running store with not only a nice selection of running clothes and a variety of shoes but they even have a program to train for races. If you live in the area and are looking to train for any distance from 5K to marathon for sure come here. They also have a social run every Monday night and often will hold races so definitely check out their calendar. I enjoyed swinging by this store and will definitely keep it on my runner radar!

This place was great. Went there to find shoes for track season since the ones I had were getting old and they were not the most comfortable. I knew I needed someone knowledgeable because I have flat feet and finding shoes for me is hard. When I spoke to the staff member he brought out a variety of shoes and even had me run the treadmill to see how I ran etc. I was very satisfied with the knowledge he had and he even told me exercises I could do at home so my feet wouldn’t be in pain after running. Needless to say I will be back and will recommend this place to everyone. It is just a bit higher on prices but my feet are very important and I would rather spend a few more dollars and get the best quality I can get. The staff is super helpful, nice, and not pushy at all something I do appreciate.

I just starting running again and I was having terrible knee pain. After reading a few articles on line regarding knee pain I thought perhaps my shoes were the problem. I was right! The shoes I was wearing offered no support for my over-​pronation problem which I am only aware of now because I visited this fantastic place. The staff was superb and knowledgeable and after my first jog in my new kicks, customer is 100% satisfied. No knee pain for me! Thanks again. Great place. :)

Went in for my first time today, staff was super nice and very helpful, store is clean and well organized, and they have nice apparel, had to walk out with at least one thing.

couldn’t ask for more in a small locally owned running store. I stopped in just to pick up a race medal and instantly felt welcome and wanted to shop a bit. tried on some shoes that caught my eye and received excellent personalized attention, video taped feedback of my gait on their in-​store treadmill (not a branded gimmick for any particular shoe, mind you) and recommendations on fit and size for my particular training goals. great, friendly store! if I lived here they would be my go-​to people for sure!

Pricey and a bit on the smaller side, these people are so wonderfully friendly and knowledgeable that they make shopping for new running gear fun. (and I *really* hate shopping, much less squirming into new sports bras) They have advice from the best lights for night running to which shoes are the best for a narrow fit to where to wear your ID so it won’t get lost in an accident. Even when you make it clear you’re just browsing, they’re just happy to talk with another runner, but not in the awkward, lonely, quiet-​store way. I’ll be coming back here when I need a new pair of running shoes and some advice on what local race to do next.

Great store! To fit you for running shoes, they have you run on a treadmill to see what your best options are for footwear. All the staff are very friendly and knowledgable and don’t pressure you into the more expensive shoes, equipment, or apparel; they really want you to run your best! They also have a great running club if you’re aiming to train for races from 5k’s to marathons. They are the full package. They’ll set you up with the right equipment, train you, and give great advice!

I love this store! They are so friendly! After I was put in the treadmill to find out the right shoe for me, they brought out several pairs for me to try… After walking around in them all, I finally found a pair I felt comfortable in. I took them home and the next morning took them for a 2 mile run. It felt like I was running with bricks on my feet. They were so incredibly heavy and not what I was used to at all. I called them up and explained what was wrong and they said bring them in and we will see what we can do. I returned the next day and they fitted me with a different pair that was much lighter! They even let me run on the treadmill to try them out! Then they let me exchange, no problem at all! I was thankful that they were willing to take back a shoe I had already run in! They have fantastic customer service! This is my number 1 running store!

I did not think the prices of shoes were any more expensive then any other specialty stores. Of course everything is cheaper on Amazon, small business owners can’t compete with Amazon. When I go into such a store, my cost includes way more than what Amazon can offer, friendly people who love to be fit and are very encouraging to help those who are less fit. Amazon can not offer info on any topic regarding running, so rem the next time you think Amazon is the way to go.

Great stuff but really pricey.
the staff was super nice. i went in to try on a sports bra i had read about on amazon. sure enough the bra on the shelf was $ 48, i ended up buying it on amazon for $ 26.
the place is very cool, clean and you can tell the products are quality. the lady who was helping me said she was a rep, so she didn’t know the layout of the store really well. but she was still really willing to help and nice. she brought me someone who could help me better with the sports bras and apologized she couldn’t help more.
i really like the place, i’ll just have to price check on amazon before i actually buy anything there. :(

This place was such a nice surprise. Coming from an area that has what I would consider one of the best running stores around, it had a lot to live up to.
To be honest, I think it surpassed. Friendly staff, incredibly fair prices, helpful people and the total experience was simple. No pressure, no gimics.
Loved it.

After my foot injury, trying to find new running shoes at the typical shoe store I got fed up did a little research online and found this gem of a store in Fort Worth. With all of the help they gave me related to my situation I doubt I’ll ever go to any other place besides Fort Worth Running Company for this type of shoe again.
Apparently this is their new location which happens to be in the respectable area that’s connected to what seems to be an office building and a restaurant behind that. They only have a banner in front of the entrance and a billboard posting that it’s the store so be on the lookout for a ten story white building on your left side if you’re driving west on West 7^th Street.
But eitherway, the store itself is pretty posh and infinitely better than any Foot Locker or Champ’s Sport I’ve seen in terms of running shoe selection, accessories and most importantly the staff. A guy in his mid 20s who I believe his name was Sam greeted me warmly and we got down to business. I told him of my foot injury and took that into equation when I got measured and tested on a neutral pair of shoes. As previous Unilocalers stated, they’ll fit you in a test pair, put you on a treadmill and have you walk and/​or run a little. Afterwards they’ll review the footage to notice the nuances of how you run and have a few pairs selected based off of those results. Sam brought out three pairs of various brands and personal requests to cover all bases and spent another five or ten minutes seeing what fit me best. Again, Sam was very thorough with his questions about what fitted me best and I can safely say that I got the best pair given my requirements and situation.
I’m not too familiar with the price range of good running shoes but mine were ~$ 125 after taxes. But given the time, effort and knowledge of the people here who happen run as if it was a life essential, sponsor and organize events based on this hobby than it’s worth far more than that.

After reading Ryan’s review, I waited for a paycheck and tax free weekend before going over to the Fort Worth Running Company. I ran on the treadmill and did not feel nearly as stupid as I thought I would. I do not have a neutral step when I run and need a motion control shoe. I also have wide dumb feet… little Polish bricks if you will rather than the slender footed girls. Wide plus motion control = two pairs of shoes to pick from but hey… I’m used to that with my dumb little brick feet. I walked out with a pair of Asics for 140. Pricey? yes. Worth it to avoid knee pain? you betcha.

FWRunCo is what a running store should be: First, they fit you with the right kind of shoes. (I’m not talking Nike or Brooks. I mean motion control, neutral, over-​pronator, cushioned trainer, flats, etc.) They are the only shoe store I know of that puts you on a treadmill, records your gate, watches it in slow-​mo and says, «Here. You need this type of shoe. Now go run and be happy.» Every other place lets you walk around inside. I don’t know about you, but I can’t tell how a RUNNING shoe feels by walking in circles, indoors, on carpet.
Next, they employ people who actually run! The last sales rep who worked with me was a former cross country runner from OSU. Skins on the wall. They have them. I will listen to someone who has credentials before I listen to someone who just has a job at the mall.
Also, they will fix what doesn’t work. I took my GF to FWRunCo — all the way from North Dallas — to buy shoes. After a few miles, they didn’t work out. Jim Newsom took them back, no questions, and gave her the right shoe. That simple. This kind of customer service is rare.
Finally, Jim and FWRunCo support local running. They sponsor numerous races, host running clinics, and assemble training groups. You can’t ask much more from a store than how much FWRunCo gives back to the sport.
